Chapter 6 - Attempting an escape

{Current timeline}

Footsteps slowly approached at which point he heard Charlie's annoying voice.

Felix clicked his tongue. "That bastard is here again… he wasn't joking about selling me off?"

The footsteps stopped just outside the doors to his cell and at that moment, Felix felt his heart palpitate as a fearsome power leaked in.

An oppressive presence was behind the door and it reached out to suppress Felix.

Goosebumps broke out all over his skin and he began to hyperventilate.

"Aya, can you tell what's on the other side?" Felix asked as he moved away from the door, but he got no response.

"Aya?" the lively AI voice that was there a moment ago was gone without a trace.

For a moment, Felix felt like he had hallucinated everything but that would be a bit too much, no?

Faced with no other choice, he focused on what was about to happen.

With great difficulty, he managed to stabilize his erratic breathing just as the shifting of locks stopped and the door opened up.

He folded his fist to hide the trembling of his fingers and looked ahead only to gulp instinctively.

A pair of gold irises stared back at him, pushing every thought of resistance away from his mind.

The owner of the eyes stepped into the cell and Felix finally got a good look at her.

Her golden hair cascaded down her shoulder like a waterfall, her jawline seemed like one sculpted by a master sculptor, and her facial structure was without flaws, that is if one didn't count her a rather small nose.

She was dressed in a gold dress with a pair of heels, But most important of all was her golden skin that glowed slightly under the moonlight.

A Demir!

Felix had come in contact with one again after only escaping their clutches two weeks ago.

But unlike those scientists, the lady before him had a dominating spirit that caused everything before her to naturally be subservient.

Felix was about to say something when he suddenly stiffened.

He felt like something was moving through his body, searching for something.

Before he could figure out what it was, his heart palpitated and his vision went dark.

"Madam Dyara, this…" Charlie was shocked.

Only one thought came to mind… How did she knock Felix unconscious without moving?

Before he could say anything more, Dyara spoke up.

"I will take this one. The money will be transferred to you after I have left." Dyara spoke casually and with a certain tone, it was difficult not to listen to her.

Of course, Charlie was not dumb to speak further.

It was best to keep his mind on the money he would receive and nothing else… that way, he'd avoid dying for talking too much.

It was strictly business.

Felix opened his eyes to find himself in an unfamiliar environment.

It was a dark room with barely any lighting and a weird stench to boot..

His breathing was uneven making it difficult to calm his nerves.

Taking a few deep breaths, he managed to calm himself enough to study his surrounding.

Despite the dim lighting, he could make out the space which was wide enough to fit a hundred people.

"Where am I?" he asked no-one in particular.

His memories were a bit jumbled up so it took him a while to figure out his bearings.

As he recalled the events leading up to his blackout, Felix shivered uncontrollably.

The overbearing pressure of the female Demir was still imprinted on his mind.

Before her eyes, Felix felt like an open book.

The feeling of helplessness before such oppressive might cast a dark shadow on Felix's mind and momentarily destroyed any hopes of ever winning against the Demirs.

How could he win against such fearsome power!?

Gritting his teeth, he tried to move only to discover that his limbs were bound by chains.

"Aya." He called out after struggling some more to no avail.

No response came.

"Damn it, Aya where are you!?"

Still no response.

Felix sighed helplessly. "Damn it… what do I do?"

He could break free of his chains if he put in everything he had, but then what?

He didn't even know where he was, so how far would he run?

The torture he got after attempting to escape Charlie only to get caught again still had an impression on him.

What if the female Demir was as bloodthirsty as Charlie said?

"No, what am I saying?" Felix chuckled self deprecatingly. "All Demirs are bloodthirsty bastards."

Biting his lower lip, Felix made his decision.

Instead of waiting for death, he'd at least try to escape.

And so he didn't hesitate to do what he had in mind.

Previously, he would have found it extremely difficult to destroy the chains that bound him but now that he was in peak condition thanks to Aya, he wouldn't need to expend that much energy.

"Aya." He called out on more time but still no response.

Inhaling deeply, he pulled with all his might and broke the chains that bound his hands.

After that, he took care of the one around his legs before moving to the door.

Just then, he heard incoming footsteps.

Taking the initiative, Felix moved to the door and held his breath.

The footsteps stopped on the other side of the door and the door knob moved back and forth before the door swung open.

"Now or never!" Felix leaped out of his hiding spot only to pause in midair.

Before he could understand what was happening, everything within sight disappeared like a lie and he blacked out again.

When he opened his eyes again, he found himself in an even more unfamiliar location.

This time instead of a dimly lit room with a weird stench, he found himself in a room straight out of a sci-fi novel.

It retained the size as the previous room but that was about it.

Seated before him, the Demir he saw with Charlie and accompanying her, a strange man wearing all black.
