Looking around, James touched his stomach in disbelief, unable to find any trace of the gaping hole in his chest he remembered having.
Frankly, if it wasn't for his clothes being shredded in the area surrounding his supposed wound, he might have thought it was all just a dream.
However, the pool of blood beneath his feet and the hole in his shirt said otherwise.
Turning around, he noticed Ethan beside him, seemingly just as confused as he was.
Like him, Ethan also had a hole in his shirt, exactly where James remembered being stabbed.
And just like him, there was no wound.
Turning around, Ethan noticed James and looked at him similarly confusedly.
"James? W-What happened? I-I thought we were dead? W-What happened to our w-wounds? A-And… W-why do I feel so thirsty?"
James was about to answer that he had no idea, but he quickly realized that Ethan's eyes were glowing blood red while his teeth had changed into sharp fangs.
