The class followed their teacher, Mr. Driscoll out of the gymnasium and entered a wide-open field.
However one of the students stayed behind, not leaving the gym.
Lucian nervously stared at the sunlight shining on the floor, as he slowly plucked a hair from his head and threw it onto the ground, under the sun.
Contrary to his expectations, nothing seemed to happen.
'I can't be completely sure that the sun isn't dangerous just yet.'
Lucian slowly brought his pinky into the sunlight.
While he didn't burst into flames like vampires in the movies, something else that was extremely strange occurred.
*Ding*
A new rectangular box spontaneously appeared before Lucian.
[The Presence of Sunlight Detected!]
[Reducing all stats by 30%]
[Stat Reduction will disappear when not exposed to sunlight]
Lucian's entire body felt weak, causing him to stumble.
James, noticing that their group was down a man turned around.
Only to see his friend fall to the ground with a *Thud*.
"Lucian!"
James ran to help his collapsed friend.
"Hey what was that noi- Lucian!" Hearing the thud, Ethan also ran over to help him as well.
The noise alerted the rest of the class who looked on curiously.
Some even had to suppress a giggle.
While they found the scene quite funny, especially since it happened to the F-rank trash in their class if they laughed…
Who knew what the goddess might do?
The blackboard eraser prank this morning was already pushing it.
Any more and it would be a repeat of that day…
The day that would forever be remembered as the darkest day of their high-school career…
The day where they saw the goddess's cruel side.
Some of the students shivered while remembering the occurrences of that day.
From that day, no matter what, they didn't mess with Lucian.
If anything most of the kids who taped threatening messages to his car or do other unsavoury acts to him were all from other classes or even other grades.
Their class was too traumatized to do something like that.
James ran up to Lucian and helped him up.
"Are you okay buddy? Wait your face… It's so pale!"
Lucian gave a weak smile.
"I wasn't feeling too hot this morning, so I wanted to skip school today actually."
Ethan approached the two and supported Lucian's other shoulder.
"I got you, Lucian!"
Mr. Driscoll walked up to Lucian's group.
"You look really sick, son. Do you want to to the infirmary?"
Lucian debated for a few seconds before shaking his head.
His physical stats had increased after turning into a vampire, but being in the sun seemed to 'revert' those effects.
While this did seem bad on paper, this however was a good thing.
At least for now that is.
Due to the strength reduction from being under the sun, he no longer had to worry about limiting his physical prowess in front of everyone.
While being weakened under the sun wasn't really good from an objective standpoint, he was glad that he didn't spontaneously combust, or start glittering.
Spontaneously combusting aside, glittering in the sun, like a certain vampire from a famous vampire series would be very bad…
"I'm fine, I was just feeling a bit weak."
Mr. Driscoll gave Lucian a once-over.
"Are you sure?"
Lucian separated himself from his friends and stretched.
"See, I'm all good. I just tripped, that's all."
Mr. Driscoll raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything else.
"If you say so… Just make sure to take better care of yourself. Remember, academy sports day is next Tuesday. You wouldn't want to miss that right? You only have 4 of them in your high school career!"
"Thank you, Mr. Driscoll I'll keep that in mind," Lucian responded with a smile.
Mr. Driscoll and Ms. Ashford were some of the few teachers that treated him properly.
He was thankful for their open-mindedness for not judging him based on his ability but instead treating him like a normal student.
After rejoining the class, they walked over to the school's athletics track.
Normally used by the track and field club as their practice track, but sometimes the Phys-ed teachers would bring their students here to run some laps as a warmup.
Mr. Driscoll walked up in front of the group and pointed at the track behind him.
"I want each of you to run 2 laps around the track. Each Lap is around 400 meters, so it'll be only 800 meters of running. Needless to say, the use of abilities, including speed-increasing abilities are prohibited. This is supposed to exercise your physical body, so keep it that way. If any of you want to break this rule, it'll be an extra 2 laps every time I see you do this."
The students nodded their heads and walked over to the starting line.
"When I blow this whistle, you may start."
Producing a small whistle from his pocket, Mr. Driscoll displayed it in his hand for the students to see.
Mr. Driscoll pulled the whistle up to his lips and started to count down.
"3"
Ethan looked at his two friends.
"I won't lose guys!"
"That's my line," Lucian smirked.
"2"
"I don't plan on losing either," James added.
"1"
While the three were hyping themselves up, Andrew who was standing a little behind them smiled eerily.
'Let's see just how long you can keep laughing, you F-rank trash!'
*FWEET*
