Chapter 9 - CHAPTER -9 Weakling

Tired, as well as frustrated, Alpha Rolex walked into the bar to get himself a few glasses of strong drink that would help him remain calm.

He still couldn't believe he had just ended the life of the Alpha leading the divine pack, the pack who had killed his entire people and family years ago. But, why this feeling? Why this strange feeling? And it all started the moment Diana gave him that look of a monster.

He tried to calm himself by telling himself that she understands nothing, but her looks still disturbs him.

If only he had listened to beta and didn't bring her along.

Alpha Rolex hit the counter really hard after taking a seat close to it. "The usual." He ordered.

Seconds later, a glass was dropped close to him. Once he gulped down the whole content, he began seeing strange things.

That night four years ago. He was taken back to four years ago. The day of his family's death. The day he watched his family and part of his people die in a war with the divine pack.

"I want to come with you father." Rolex begged continuously, but he kept being ignored by his father who was putting on his battle wears.

Immediately, his elder brother walked in all prepared.

"We need to leave now." His father said to his brother.

"Stay here Rolex, and hide somewhere safe. If anyone comes in, make sure you stay hidden no matter what." His father warned with a cold voice that seemed to make him afraid.

When Rolex turned to stare at his brother with watery eyes, he received a smile from him instead.

"We'll be back Rolex." He assured, leaning down to his level while gently tapping his shoulders.

And just like that, Rolex watched the two people so important to him exit the room. He felt he was no little kid, and he could handle dangers like his brother, but his father never gave him the chance to do such.

Rolex waited, for hours continuously hearing the terrifying screams of his pack members downstairs.

The first thought that came to his mind was his father, and brother. Without waiting for another second, he passed through the window and ran out of the house.

Everywhere he walked past, he saw bloods. This made him run faster without halting to go look for his father and brother.

Rolex came to a halt when he saw his father's body on the floor. Coming back to his senses, he ran towards his father, and went on his knees.

"Father." He called several times, but there was no movement from his father, or an answer.

He turned to look around for his brother, but he was no where to be found.

Just immediately he stood up, someone sped towards him and gave him a deep scratch on his shoulders.

Rolex winced in pain, and immediately went down on his knees in pain. He clearly saw the face of the person who has rushed at him.

"Rolex." He heard his brother's voice from afar, rushing towards him.

"You shouldn't be here, you need to leave now, hurry." Dexter said, backing him.

Two more people from his pack hurried towards where he and his brother were that same minute.

"Keep them off, I need to take him to safety." Rolex heard his brother instruct them, but it didn't take long before 4 more people from the enemy pack came and killed them in less than a minute.

"Come on Rolex, snap out of it. You need to leave now." His brother warned again.

Just before he could stand up from the soil and run for his life, he heard his brother scream in pain which immediately caused him to halt instantly.

He turned back to take a look, and what he saw was Dexter on the floor.

"Go!" His brother's voice came again, but very low and nearly faded.

Rolex eyes turned bloody red, as he could not contain the anger building up inside him. His breathing became fast, and suddenly he curled up his hands into fist ready to charge at the one who killed his brother.

Just before Rolex charged at him, he heard his brother winced in pain again, with blood gushing out from his mouth. The wolfsbane being used on Dexter was rapidly taking effect on him.

"Leave Rolex, please."

As he charged towards the Alpha, he heard his brother's voice again.

Gathering all the strength left in him even after the bad effect of the wolfsbane that had been used on him, Dexter stood up on his feet.

When Rolex was just a few steps away from the Alpha and his brother, he saw a sharp claw passing through his brother's stomach.

That was the end, because Dexter fell on the floor almost lifeless while bleeding.

Rolex could do nothing, because he was no match for the Alpha. The looks on his face scares him so much, making him take steps away from him as the Alpha continues drawing closer to him.

"You're a weakling, and I don't kill one." He heard the ruthless Alpha say, before turning away to leave.

Afterall, his job was done, and he had succeeded in wiping away half of his pack including his family.

He rushed towards Dexter's body, with two smooth stones. First, since he was clueless, he needed to take out the wolfsbane from his brother's body.

"Go." He barely heard Dexter whisper to him.

Jamming the stones together, he was quick to make a fire with them. He picked up a strong metal and made it burn hot.

"I won't let you die brother." He said, and then burnt the part where the wolfsbane had been injected into his body.

Nothing happened, his brother was gone, and this time for good. He took out the syringe containing the wolfsbane but Dexter was gone.

He could hear loud footsteps, and every surviving wolf stepped out from their various houses and hiding places.

A loud gasp escaped their mouth the moment they saw their Alpha, and Dexter dead with only Rolex alive.

"How could you!" Rolex heard a loud voice speak. He turned back to stare at the person who had said that, with a confused look on his face.

To everyone standing right there, it wasn't possible for Rolex to be the only survivor while his brother and father are dead. Something else must have happened.

Rolex traced their eyes, and immediately found out they were all looking at the wolfsbane in his hands. It didn't take long before they all walked away in order to announce the death of their Alpha.

Rolex heard his father slightly cough when a tear fell down from his eyes, and then he rushed towards him.

"Son." He heard his faint whisper.

"I'm here father, please stay alive." He replied.

His father hated weaklings, and Rolex being someone weak from little, unlike his elder brother, his father failed to teach him most of the important things he needed to know.

"Listen to me." He started.

Rolex sniffled, and then took his father's hands to listen carefully.

"Never trust anyone, to lead the pack as the next Alpha, you must never trust anyone like I did. Promise me. You must become a ruthless Alpha in order to protect this pack, and keep your family's dignity."

Rolex shook his head. "I'm not ready to lead father, I still have a lot to learn." He replied.

"You're 18, and you're of age. Make me proud son." His father's words sank through his heart, and only then was Rolex able to realize that there was no one else on his side. It was him, and just him alone in the world.

Before he could say a word, his father passed away.

"I promise father." He said, rubbing clean the tears on his face, before letting go of his father's hands.

As Rolex walked back into the house, he could hear the loud voices of his people deliberating whether he would become the next Alpha, or not.

But instead, he smiled because there was nothing they could do. Afterall, he was the only surviving son of the late Alpha, and no one else would be able to protect and lead the pack except him.

Alpha Rolex was immediately brought back to reality, and just like in his past, a tear fell from his eyes without his knowledge.

"Another glass." He ordered next.
