The pitter-patter of a falling rain added to her grogginess, raindrops trickling down on the foggy windows of her father's car, the dark sky making people not want to go anywhere and just stay indoors for a whole day watching movies and chill. Muffled melody of an old song which was her mother's favourite was like a lullaby putting her back to sleep, she yawned covering her mouth. Just like a daily routine, today she was on her way to college as well.
Her Dad dropped her mom off at her luxurious restaurant, she works as a manager there. "Bye darlings," she said, taking her umbrella with her. "Oh before I forget, I'll be home late too today Aileen, take care of yourself, OK?" She said pecking her dad but the oldman held her back wanting more of their kiss.
She could only hum in response and look outside the window as she was sitting at the back, the two are always like this, shameless. "I'm still here you two" she said to hear them chuckle, it's not like it was a big deal to her when she was already 20 years old, she just felt awkward.
"Bye Sharon, take care" he pecked her lips again before letting her get out of the car. Aileen smiled watching them, the love in their eyes despite being old already is something that she was looking forward to achieving too, someday.
She was used to being alone in their mansion, her dad is forever back home late from work and her mom would be back early some days. At times she wish she had a little sister or brother to play around with in their big lonely mansion.
The man dropped her at college, he gave her a black card "What is this for daddy?" She was used to being given cash by them for her expenses.
"Sharon and I thought of giving you this since you are all grown up now, although I would like you to spend it wisely young lady." He said with a smile.
She smiled back looking at the card on my hands, she was the only heir of her family so it's only right to be pampered and spoiled by her parents. They always tell her that they make money for her and her future anyway.
"How much is in it?" She asked, getting down from the car, dressed in her pink raincoat. Her Dad too got down wearing his big black raincoat and walked around to hug her and kiss her forehead. "I don't know, um…More than enough for a drama queen" she giggled at his response.
"I love you daddy, thanks both of you" She said pulling away from the hug "We love you too honey, take care" he got into his car waving at her before driving away.
She stood there watching the car until it vanished, placing the card securely on her bag.
"Oh look, who do we have here? It's princess Aileen dropped at college" this familiar voice made her shake her head as she turned around "Sunny! You are too dramatic" she took a bow teasing her further "Yes your highness" they giggled and hugged each other.
Sunny has been her best friend since elementary school and God must love them so much because they we're still studying the same course.
They walked inside their huge college, holding hands as they chit-chat and giggle to their little gossips. Several students walked in too since it was morning time, session time.
She took out her phone and smiled widely, the screen notified her with what she have been waiting for since early in the morning.
(Lan love) 'Morning babe, I love u'
(Me) 'Morning laziest one, love u more'
Her smile was intact as she kept texting him. "Oh, I smell love in the air, that must be the Prince!" Said Sunny breaking her from her daze, her cheeks were burning hot just by thinking of him.
"Oh please stop" she placed her phone back inside, looking back at the two empty seats behind them. One for her boyfriend and the other one for Samuel, Sunny's boyfriend. It's crazy how their pair of friendships turned out to be couples, it feels like a fairytale.
Couple of minutes later two handsome boys entered the class, of course the girls in their class were drooling at them. Who wouldn't drool at such a tall and masculined pair of good looking boys who looked like they just came out of a fashion magazine.
But their eyes were settled on them, smiles on their delicate lips. Samuel was the first one to reach Sunny and scooped her in his arms, smooching with her shamelessly.
Alan walked to his seat and back hugged Aileen, she was sitting on the front seat so they weren't that far. He nuzzled his face on her neck, her eyes closed slowly, lost in the moment and the feelings that came with it.
"Mm, you look beautiful today" he whispered, she could only smile and leaned down to kiss his hands around her chest "Thank you," she murmured.
Everybody in their college envied them because they have been in a relationship for a while now. First Samuel asked Sunny out at the football match where his team emerged with victory, two years ago.Then a couple of days later, Alan approached her.
It's been two years, and they still look like some new couples. While they've witnessed several relationships break right before a week passes, theirs was like from a romance book.
The lecturer entered and everyone went back to their seats. Their class isn't usually quiet but they know how to keep the discipline once a lecturer enters.
She took out her books and laptop, focusing her attention to the man that was dotting something at the board while Alan who sat behind her, his attention was all on her without her knowledge.
He even leaned back on his chair and crossed his legs, he stared at her ponytail, her neck was exposed and that really disturbed him. He doesn't want anyone else to look at her nape apart from him, of course. So he deliberately moved and pulled off her hair band making them fall to her back, she froze but never dared to turn.
"Mr Holmes! Are we having another class back there?" Said the teacher making him sit properly and earned himself some giggles in the class.
"No sir! Were good" he said opening his books, she turned to give him a quick glance before turning back at the front. The teacher shook his head and continued with the lesson.
After two classes in a row, they had a lunch break.
On the way to the cafeteria, she excused herself to go to the washroom. She asked Sunny and the boys to go on ahead without her. She entered the stall and did her business there. She had an upset stomach since last night and it just won't stop, annoying her. Minutes later she was washing her hands by the sink when suddenly a blonde girl walked in and instead of going on with her business, she came to stand behind her, crossing her hands on her chest.
She could see her from the mirror, she was fed up of her stupid words and was just going to leave quietly, but then a bitch would always be one. She blocked her way with a glare " You, what have you done to have Alan? tell me, no matter how much I think of it, you are just not his type." She said. Aileen sighed, same foolish talk about her ex, can't she just move on already? She said internally, staring back at her.
"Celine, you should know when to quit, you look so pathetic" she said and shoved her aside before walking out of the washroom, not even caring about her curses. She was tired of her bullshit, she always uses her dirty mouth to belittle her. She was Alan's ex but now the man is with her now and she has to accept that because she also didn't care anymore.
