Chapter 1 - chapter 1

Lina's

Mom, I will be heading out now.

"Ok dear" she replied OK, throwing a kiss from the kitchen towards me while standing at the door.

I am eighteen-year old Lina Maxwell, the only daughter of the Maxwell family. I work part-time at an old evening bar. Madam Abigail, who's the owner of the cafe was also as old as the bar, and so greedy as well. She is always looking for a way to sub-charge her employee.

I had better increase my pace before I get late. I thought as I walked faster so as to avoid Mrs Abigail's troubles.

The doorbell rang as I stepped in. I love hearing the sound produced by the bell each time a customer walks in. After a while, the door was pushed open, and a man 6-2 feet tall, silver-piercing eyes with dark brown hair walked in with a grin full enough to cover his entire face. He was Richard Maxwell, my twenty-four-year-old brother.

"Yoo Lina" her brother called as he walks toward the counter. "Guess what" he asked, winking at her with his left eye. "What is it this time?" she asked. "Just guess dear, you never can tell, it might be something exciting- ".

"Are you sure?"

"Yes dear. "

"I wonder what he has in mind this time."

"You passed the wastenhill academy scholarship exam." he yelled. Her jaw dropped in shock, not knowing how to react to the shocking news.

She never expected that she'd pass the scholarship examination.

"have you told mom already?" she asked.

"No, not yet." he replied.

" She will be so excited to hear this....."

"Richard?.."

"yes?"

"It's nothing," she replied as she smiled.

Richards pov

I walked into the evening bar that lisa worked at. I pushed the door open and the doorbell rang, as almost all the old folks

that was sipping silently as they listened to a1930's old lounge music, turned to look at me. Yoo Lina, I yelled as I walked towards her. She was standing behind the bar counter.

I can't wait to see her expression after telling her about her success in the exam, and i am so happy for her.

her reaction was as i expected, she hadn't changed a bit.

She was still the same little sister.
