"My King, you are just untrustworthy."
"Ugh... Kane, that hurt!" As the two conversed leisurely.
"Blood Dence: Hurricane!" The same technique that destroyed the room of the Nobel 'pig' appeared in the room.
'If I can't open it I need to destroy it.' Katarina was quick-witted but the problem came from a different thing.
'What!?' The door didn't get destroyed but that didn't surprise her what did was that not even a scratch appeared.
"How?" She looked around, and to say at least the teacups, on the coffee table moved a few millimeters.
*Yawn...* "You are much weaker than your sister..."
"Ugh..." Though Katarina already knew she was, Xalier's harsh words hurt her even more as he yawned in the middle of her bloody hurricane.
'So much defense... I can't get out.' Katarina knew from the start that the room would have an insane amount of magical defense after all, this was all the previous kings' castle too, but now the difference became visible.
"Blood Lotus!" Since Katarina had no chance of escaping, she changed her attack.
All of the thousand blood blades stopped moving at the same time, within a mere second all of the blades turned at Xalier and started raining down at him.
"Hm... this is a little better, but still... I don't understand something..." Xalier simply face-tanked the damage of the blades, he had so much HP and Magic Resistance that such attacks could do little.
"What is it, my King?"
*Tsk* 'It's still not enough!' Katarina got annoyed by the two looking down on her so much that they just resumed their conversation.
"Death Lotus!" Black energy burst out around her as she began using more of her power. Her elemental energy of wind surfaced as light lime green energy appeared around the blood blades.
"Thousand Edge!" As the words were said, blood started to flow out of her wrist into her hands, forming a pair of blood dangers that looked a little different from the others. She took a light step and then pushed herself off it, and with it, she started to spin.
"Eat this!" She threw the two daggers, but not simply she infused her black and lime green energy in them.
And these dangers... "Hm?" almost penetrated the light nearly transparent green aura around Xalier that represented his HP.
"Finally, we are getting somewhere." Xalier didn't look bothered by it, he just jokingly called out then continued. "See? I'm the king yet nobody respects me."
'Just a little more!' Katarina didn't stop spinning even for a second. New daggers formed and she infused even more energy in them. At first two more daggers were fired, but at the second turn four then six. Every time she did a 360, her spinning and attack speed fastened.
"Oh, a pretty good skill you got there..." Noticing that the skill Katarania used was a combo type, Xalier got a little interested.
Yet again, he turned back to Kane. "I understand those old fogies look down on me because I'm young, but why do I get jumped at by random people?"
'Will she get mad enough now?' Xalier looked like he wasn't giving Katarina much thought after all, she was weaker than the average of his army but in truth, he was. The thing was, he just wanted her to show him something good or to say a more interesting technique.
Only dumb people have no trump cards, and Xalier wanted to use this chance, which appeared from a misunderstanding to see what Katarina's was.
"People are too reckless and most don't believe the stories..." And Kane knew this too so he continued to play along.
"What kind of stories?"
"Of your strength, my King after all, how can a thousand-year-old be at the World Source realm?" And just as they talked, in less than three seconds.
*AHH...* Katarina stopped with a loud and tired shout.
'240... this should be enough...' Most combo-type skills have a finisher, that can be activated after the combo counter reaches a specific number, but Katarina's was a little different, her finisher...
"Evo... Never Ends..." Red energy appeared and blood started to stream out of Katarina's wrist. Since she breathed in and out hastily, she was hunched forward and was holding her knees, which made her legs bath in her own blood.
"Hm? This is..." Seeing the blood, that flowed onto the floor, rise and slowly form into the curved blood daggers, that Katarina threw until just now, Xalier was curious.
"Wow..." So many daggers appeared above Katarina that Xalier and Kane too got surprised.
The daggers looked uncountable, but to say there were exactly 240. This 240 was the number of daggers Katarina threw in that three seconds yet now...
"Now, this is what I'm talking about!" ...the 240 become the number of daggers that were fired every second.
Xalier's blood-red energy burst out. For this attack, he too had to actively defend.
"This is really..." And in just a few seconds more than a thousand blades were burned up in the red flames that appeared from Xalier's hands.
"How much longer can you stand the summoning of so many daggers? Uh?" As Xalier burned hundreds of danger he asked, but go surprised by something again.
'Her energy... why is it decreasing so slowly? So many attacks should exhaust her out in seconds...' He didn't understand how could Katarina stand the energy drainage from the attack.
'The amount of energy the attacks should draw from her should be insane, and yet she looked as if almost no energy was taken from her. Hm...' Since she got into a bad state just from the first time she threw the 240, Xalier didn't understand how the skill this woman used worked.
"...!" As Xalier looked around he noticed something strange happening to the dangers he was destroying.
'The burning daggers... they disappear?' He turned to the forming new daggers.
'They are the same?' As a burning dagger was slowly evaporating a new one was forming right above Katarina.
'The ones that lost their momentum or got destroyed turn back into energy and then they reshape... But still shouldn't it... wait!" As he looked at the forming dagger he noticed the slight suction-like force.
'It uses the energy of the environment to reform...!? She is just the host of the technique, it doesn't consume any energy to use... she is only using her energy to constantly draw more to the surrounding, and then the skill does its own thing...'
"This technique..." Xalier raised one of his hands to his chin while he brought out fire waves with his other.
'Theoretically, if she is supported with some buffs, it might go on endlessly... This is pretty good I can use this. It doesn't kill instantly but forces people to retreat as they can't do anything...'
"I knew you will be useful! Great! Truly outstanding!" Since Xalier found something he wanted, amits the flames a big smile showed on his face.
*ugh...*cough*cough...* 'This... it isn't enough...' Seeing this, Katarina staggered up to her feet.
In Katarina's hands, two more daggers appeared. *Ugh...* As she griped them in reverse she placed them to her sides, since the blades were insanely sharp blood flowed.
"Mhm?" *Sigh* Noticing something, Xalier disappeared with his World Crossing.
"Dence of the..." Just as Katarina started to call out a new skill.
"Uh?" Xalier appeared before her, and with a light kick.
*Bang*Cough* Katarina flew to the door, and as she fell down to the floor she coughed up blood from the internal damages suffered.
As she staggered up, "This is enough." Xalier appeared above her and as he pushed himself off the air he stepped on her head.
*Bang*UGh* He crushed Katarina's head into the floor, with his feet.
"What I said was true..." He stepped off her head and continued.
"Your sister is okay. You don't need to use techniques that endanger your life... Hm... No, you are useful to me so don't use it from here on out."
"Understood?" He reached out to help her up.
"...?" Katarina raised her head, and without taking Xalier's helping hand, she asked. "How...?"
"What?"
"My skill follows you even if you use Transcendence... how did you get above me?"
"Simple, I didn't use Transcendence." Xalier replied with a smile and shook his hand in the air to indicate 'Take it'.
"Ugh... I don't need your help!" With the words, Katarina pushed his hand away and stood up on her own.
"What do you want now?"
"Hm? You are not questioning anything?"
"I'm not stupid, either you killed my sister or you really made her swear an oath either way, you could have killed me now but you didn't... I'm just asking, what you want after all, I can't run whatever I do."
"Hm... I like you."
"I don't."
"That doesn't matter. Anyway, your sister is really okay you can meet her if you want, but only at the Forest of Mistery. Go in and in a few minutes your sister will be there."
"Then I..."
"Wait, first I tell you what your job will be."
"..."
"Firstly you will live in the barracks of the Imperial Army."
"What? I'm a mercenary assassin I..."
"No, you no longer are."
"What do you mean?"
"From here on out you are a soldier of the Imperial Army."
"...!?"
"You will get everything they do and you will have the same credit system, meaning you can get whatever you want according to your contribution, scrolls, cultivation methods, skills, whatever. You will have the same training every day and all the normal things."
"What the hell do..."
"You will have only one difference."
"...What is it...?" Since Katarina understood she had no say in this, she just asked to make things clear.
"You will only get sent to missions where you need to fight elves, and you need to use that Thousand Edge skill of yours to make them retreat one way or another."
"Try killing as few as possible but try doing it in as flashy of a way as possible, my friend here will make up a team for you who will be your support and protectors."
"..." 'Why does the King of Vampires want to kill as few elves as possible?' A question that even Katarina's quick mind couldn't process appeared.
"Hm... I see you have a few questions, you can ask my good friend for the basic things." With the words, Xalier turned around and pointed at Kane.
'He is putting the work on me again...' Kane understood Xalier too well to not know what comes now.
"He will guide you for what you should and shouldn't know, and he will be the one who mostly gives the orders for what and where you need to do. Everything is good?"
"I..."
"Good?"
"Ugh..." From the stare she got, Katarina understood what she needed to answer. "Yes..."
"Great! I will be back in... a week... maybe a month. I have to go laugh at a child trying to learn something impossible." With the words, Xalier vanished from the sight of the two.
"..."
"..." *Sigh*
"Ask me what you don't understand..." With a tired sigh, Kane started doing his job just like nothing happened.
'Is everyone crazy here?' Since Katarina couldn't ask this question she continued with the others.
...
After almost two hours.
'Oh, I was so waiting for this.' As Xalier stood before the barrier, he rubbed his palms together with anticipation.
"Let's see it then!" And then when Xalier crossed the barrier.
"What the...?" what welcomed him on the other side made his eyes widen.
