Chapter 12 - Cultivation

Emil took a glance at the Tablets' price.

First rank low grade Tablets, with the standard 80% purity were priced at 20 merit points.

He would have to pay an extra 5 points for every extra 10% purity.

A 90% purity Tablet would cost 25 while a 100% purity Tablet would cost 30 merit points.

Despite their low rank, pills with a 100% purity were rare and very expensive on the outside market.

This was where the Royal Academy, as the number magic Academy in the kingdom shone.

High grade pills were at the students' disposal, all for a few merit points.

Well, it would look few to others.

But to Emil who only had 100 merit points which everyone recieved upon their enrollemnt, it was a large sum.

After contemplating for a while, he purchased 3 Tablets.

One low grade Healing Tablet with 100% purity, and two low grade Mana Enhancement Tablets, each with 100 and 80 percent purity.

He purchased one of the highest and lowest purity to see the difference between them.

After making his purchase, he clicked his badge against the tablet and lost 80 merit points from his balance, leaving him with only 20.

However, he didn't receive the items immediately after purchasing them.

There was nowhere to take it from, he had to go to the Exchange Centre which was situated not too faraway from the Merit Hall.

After showing his purchase log to a staff, he was given his items.

With this, the second thing he was there for was completed.

The only thing that remained were his Potions.

Alchemy Tonics were divided into two categories just like pills.

Enhancement Type, Elixirs, and Combat Type, Potions.

Every student recieved one of each type of Potion available within the shop upon their enrollemnt.

They were considered the Academy's life saving tickets to the students.

Each of them had great effects and could save them in a life-threstening situation.

Emil was headed back to his dorm with six different Potion vials.

They were small and different in color, which helped students distinguish them from one another.

Emil could probably swallow them all in one gulp, but that didn't work to put them down in his eyes.

He knew how precious these Potions were and was sure to put them to good use.

Specially considering their exorbitant price in the shop.

Emil's hands shook like an eighty year old grandma with a knife at her throat as he put the Potions away while thinking of their price.

Frankly speaking, there was still a lot he had to do around the Academy, but he put them off for now and stormed towards his dorm.

He was raging to start cultivating and getting stronger.

He even fought the temptation of hitting the bed and taking a long nap when he got home, something he would have a lot of toruble doing normally.

Wasting no time, he headed straight for the cultivation room, where no external disturbances could bother him.

That wasn't the only benefit to the cultivation room though.

To Emil's delight, he could feel the mana density increase exceptionally when he stepped inside.

He fished out the Low-Grade Healing Tablets from his bag and sat down on a mattress before swallowing it and starting to cultivate.

He could clearly feel the Tablet's effects as a weird sensation spread to every part of his body before eventually settling down on his broken arm.

"Amazing..."

He couldn't help but admire.

It was magical alright.

He could feel his arm healing by the minute.

A process that would've normally taken several days was completed in just minutes.

Emil's arm was still very much broken, but it was in a far better state than before, and for that he was glad.

If he could get more Healing Tablets, his arm could heal in just a week or two.

Leaving those thoughts at the back of his head, he took out the two Mana Enhancements Tablets and swallowed the one with 80% purity.

'time to see what these things are capable of.'

It didn't take long for Emil to feel a large amount of Mana enter his stomach and dissolve into his mana pathways.

From there, it coursed through his entire body before settling down at his heart.

"What the hell..."

His heart rate increased exceptionally as he felt his strength rise by the second.

"No wonder all the other kids have been toying around with me."

Emil muttered, his tone wry.

With this kind of power, overpowering ordinary people would be as easy as taking away a stuffed toy from a disabled three year old child.

The effects of the first Tablet, despite merely having 80% purity were already strong.

Emil was curious about the second, the higher purity one's effects now.

According to his textbook, taking more than one Tablet at a time was unsafe and harmful to the body.

According to the same textbook, taking Tablets consecutively could decrease its effects or in most extreme scenarios, expose your body to dangers.

To Emil's surprise though, what he was feeling right now was very different from what the textbook described.

He was supposed to fill stuffed, like a severely underweight old man having two back to back seven course meals, but he felt fine.

In fact, be felt like he had space for more. Way more in fact.

Hell, what he had just now felt like a dip in the ocean.

Doubts filled his mind as he thought about the reason why.

Nevertheless, he gulped the second Tablet and started cultivating again.

'it's superior alright.'

Emil thought as he compared the second Tablet's effects to the first one's.

The mana from the second Tablet was superior both in quantity and quality, not to mention its absorption which went far more smoothly than the first time.

Just like last time, mana travelled through his pathways and refined his body before settling in his heart, ready for his use.

Unlike last time though, Emil wasn't excited or anything of that sort.

Instead, his mind was riddled with questions.

'i just took two Mana Enhancements Tablets back to back.

That should've at least decreased the Tablet's effects if not put me in danger, yet not only did the effects not decrease, but i also feel like i have space for more.'

Maybe it had something to do with the fact that he was an Elemental Saint.

Indeed, that was probably the case.

To begin with, normal standards didn't apply to him. There were too many things different about him and Emil could feel it from the moment he awakened.

'if i have space for more then it means I've space for more. All the better for me since I can cultivate faster.'

A plan formulated in Emil's mind.

He was gonna try buying more Tablets later and test his limits.

'speaking of which...'

Emil was an Elemental Saint. He knew that but he hadn't actually tested his powers yet.

Partly because he didn't get the chance to, partly because he didn't have the capacity to and, well, partly because he didn't know how.

Well, things were different now.

He had the time, mana, and knowledge of how to use it.

Closing his eyes, Emil recalled today's spell mastery class.
