Mia unhurriedly opened her eyes glancing up at the glossy ceiling of her bedroom. She noticed a shadow hanging at the window and she assumed it is her husband's, Jansen. She tossed on the floor staring at the window to clearly look at him and she started feeling a throbbing pain in her head she moaned loudly and was patting her head.
She heard footsteps trotting toward her it paused besides her. A hand was patting her on her arm and she sensed that the touch is quite familiar. It was so gentle. No one has patted her that way before except Jansen. She looked up, she stared at the face of the person, her vision was blurry and she blinked thrice and her vision was now clear and she glanced at the face of the person again, her cheeks were chubby and her eyes quite curvy. It was her, she now realized. Her daughter's nanny, Macy.
"Where's Jansen?" Mia muttered.
Before Macy could speak, Mia passed out. Macy gripped Mia and yanked her off the floor dropping her on her Queen-sized-bed.

It breathed a frenzied morning the subsequent day. Mia woke up. A radiant sunlight streaked into her room from the windows illuminating the room. She glanced left and right hoping she might see Jansen lying besides her but he wasn't. She glanced at the door post staring at it to see if his pair shoes could be sitting there. He usually drops his shoes by the door when he comes home exhausted.
Mia tossed on the bed and cuddled her pillows softly, "where are you Jansen right now?" She felt quite perplexed. She misses Jansen holding her in his arms when they lie on the bed together. She misses the smell of his perfume and his warm soft touch.
She felt quite anxious and picked her phone from the table by her bed staring at the screen to check for any missed calls or texts from him and the screen was blank.
"Huh!" She sighed, "why isn't he home yet?" She pondered. It felt strange cause he barely spends a night outside. And when does, he'll send a text.
She sprang to her feet to head to the bathroom and the horrible pain returned. She felt an immense pain in her head and she groaned loudly like a mooing cow and was patting her head, her feet got so weak and she plopped to the floor.
"Jansen! Jansen!" She screamed at the top of her voice, the pain felt so unbearable. "Jansen...!" She wriggled and tossed.
Jansen sat up on the bed, he glanced at Juliet lying her head on his arm. He grinned from ear to ear and leaned in to peck her on her cheek and she woke up looking into his eyes,. "what are you trying to do?" She giggled.
"Uh trying to kiss you." He leaned towards her.
"What?"
"To kiss you." He came on her and was kissing her affectionately. She placed her arms around his neck giggling loudly.
The pain wasn't going to stop. She tried to reach towards her drugs on the table, she was crawling towards it and her four year old daughter, Isabella stepped into the room. Her eyes widened awestruck and anxious glancing at Mia on the floor.
She trotted to her, "mum, what happened to you?"
"Baby just give me the drugs on the table okay?" Mia's voice shook, "Jansen...." She moaned.
Isabella hurried to the table, grabbed the bottle of drugs and handed it to her with a bottle of water. Mia hurled some pills into her mouth and downed some water.
Isabella squatted besides her, she rubbed her back, "mum are you alright?"
Mia nodded in reply. The pain slowly stopped aching.
Macy was approaching her bedroom carrying a tray and she slightly panicked spotting her on the floor. She hurriedly dropped the tray and trotted to her picking her from the floor to the bed. She leaned her head on some fluffy pillows and spread the blanket around her.
After a few hours, Mia heard some loud footsteps entering the room and she jolted awake. She unhurriedly turned glancing at the door, she saw a figure of a man in black coat but her sight was blurry and she blinked thrice till she was able to grasp the sight of the person. It was Jansen.
"Jansen?" She muttered.
Jansen grinned at her he was holding a bouquet of red velvet roses. He advanced to her and kissed her on her forehead, "how are you love?"
The scent oozing out of the bouquet flowed to her nostrils. She sat up and the locks of her hair fell on her face, "why are you just coming home?"
"I was overworking at the office I didn't realize it was getting late and my car, it wasn't working, I had no one to pick me from work so I had to over stay till morning. So how're you doing love?" He stroked her cheek.
Mia sighed, "I had another intense pain in my head but Macy attended to me and made sure I was alright."
"Okay hon."
"Just okay? How many times will Macy be the one to look after me? How many times will she be by my side giving me drugs and always massaging my head?" Mia screamed, "I know she works for me but you are my husband Jansen I'm tired of Macy always being around for me. Why do I feel lonely when I have a husband? I don't see you when I'm having a crisis sometimes I even cry myself to sleep and bear with my migranes till they vanish." Tears shredded on her jowls.
"Hon I'm sorry it's just that of late I've been occupied and the company seriously requires my attention."
"Am I not your wife? Shouldn't you be besides me too? I even have to share my nights with you with your company? Do you know our daughter can't even recollect the last time you picked her from school? You're always too busy."
"Hon it's not my fault I've gotta work hard to provide for you and Isabella." Jansen patted her on her arm lovingly.
"Don't touch me!" Mia shoved his hand off her arm. She tossed to her left and was trying to fight back the tears in her eyes.
"I got you pretty flowers they smell so nice."
"I don't need your flowers shove them in the dustbin." Mia sighed and kneaded her jowls.
Jansen hopped on the bed and pulled himself closer to her. He held her by her waist snuggling her in his arms, "hon I'm sorry."
Mia angrily pulled his hands off her and she sat up scowling at him, "do not touch me Jansen this is what you always do, you always leave me hanging. I got sick many times and you were not beside me at either of those times. The headaches felt horrible but what felt more horrible is that you were not by my side. Even nurses know they have to check on their patients everyday."
"Hon forgive me. I didn't know you were not feeling well, you would've sent me a call or a text."
"If you were home you would know how I was doing. Do you think I like this tumor in my brain that I love or wanna get sick? I don't wanna be a burden on anyone. I wanna recover from this but you make me feel I like how ill I am when you ignore me like I put this cancer inside me. Am I being a burden on you? Tell me honestly Jansen." Mia said amid tears.
Jansen touched her jowls and he shook his head, "no hon. I love you ill or not ill. Weak or not I love you, " he pulled her into a hug, "don't you ever feel that way. I love you so much." He stroked her hair.
