"Honey hurry your gonna be late!" a yell came from outside as Ray bumped into multiple shelves and tables before stumbling outside.
"Does this suit look good?" Ray did a slight turn to the left and right showing off his suit.
His suit was black and grey a wind blazer that had glowing silver rings around the elbows before it tightened and stopped revealing the bandages that leads down to his fingertips, there were glowing silver lines that went up to his collar and down his arms, with black pants.
"The costume looks awesome son now hurry and let's go. And make sure the trunk is closed." rays father had said before opening the driver-side door Ray went around and closed the trunk.
"Done"
Ray quickly jumped into the back seat before strapping his seat belt on. he was extremely anxious and it made him smile unknowingly. Earlier he went into the bathroom to see how he looked.
He had noticed that he looked like how he did in his previous life but with the changes in his ability/mutation. He was still dark-skinned and his hair was still slightly spiky and stuck upwards.
While he had some free time during the night and learned some of his abilities but he didn't want to try anything deadly just in case it damaged the house.

After a hour and a half drive that Ray slept through he eventually felt the car start to slow down before he felt a hand pat him on the shoulder. He woke up slowly as his eyes fluttered open under the black band restrainer that came with his costume which also acted as a mask but it only covered his eyes.
"We are here buddy. They already brought your bags in while you were knocked out but be that paper in there with you and wait in line. Once you finished the exam they will contact us! We're rooting for you!" the father smiled at the kid as he moved his fist toward the back seat as Ray whipped some slob off his face.
"Ah yeah, jeez I'm tired." he gave the paper with his right hand as he opened the car door with his left, he slowly stepped out of the car as the two straps that went down his back waved in the wind.
"Alright this is kinda nerve-racking" Ray smiled as he rubbed the back of his head he looked at the line that lead into the building, it was full of people with costumes, some costumes looked stupid in his opinion while others looked amazing and looked like they had a lot of work put into them.
"This line is going pretty fast so I don't think I'll be waiting that long" Ray stepped into the back of the line as he stared at his paper, the same paper that had his new name and abilities on it.

An odd feeling shot through Ray's body as the sound of what seemed to be chains rustled behind him in the distance.
When Ray felt this a smile crept across his face before his body started to produce a sound of its own it sounded like a rattlesnake tail rattling. Everyone who was within a 6 feet distance started to twitch and squirm at the sound.
"The hell!" Ray yelled as he turned around and saw no one but a long line that built up over the few minutes that Ray was there.
"I must be going insane." Ray made it to the end of the line and gave them his paper before they pulled up a device that looked like a phone. It put a symbol on his blindfold.
"This is your Akira symbol, everyone has a different hero symbol and this one is yours Splice." The woman talked like a robot and pointed toward an open gate.
"Go to the waiting zone with the others the exam will start shortly." Ray nodded and walked towards the gate and went straight through it, he was met with a giant open area that was more than a mile and a half long and full of people, none of them looked the same in the slightest.
Some were short while some were extra talk and others didn't even look human. One that caught Ray's attention was a short girl that had a great figure but had scars and muscles all over her body. And her hair was black long and messy.
Even with the blindfold on she sensed that Ray was looking at him and gave him an evil smile before stretching. Ray let one of his giant uncomfortable smiles creep across his face from ear to ear on accident. She noticed and it seemed to excite her before she let out a few words of her own.
"It seems I joined the exam just in time for some true monsters to bear their fangs" This sentence alone was enough to shake Ray to his core
'What the hell exactly is this exam!' was the only thing that ran through his head. He was surprisingly good at seeming calm as he threw his arms behind his head but his smile was something that he couldn't hide at all.
'How is a chick that barely 4'11 able to send chills down my spine' Many thoughts ran through his head, he didn't know what type of exam it would be and he didn't know what type of powerhouses would be here. The worst scenarios started to flood Ray's mind as the smile got wider before he took a deep breath and closed his eyes before opening them and having a completely relaxed face.
"I have to admit she had a rocking body. a big butt, thick thighs, big boobs, a slim figure. Minus the scars of course but that's not a problem." Ray mumbled to himself as he turned away from her.
'I Can't worry about this now I'm already in I just have to adapt!' he walked through the crowd to get away from the lady and for his nerves to calm down, as he walked he started to hear a commotion that was coming from his right.

"ATTENTION ROOKIES!" a speaker blared from the sides of the large room before Ray could get a chance to see what was happening. He clenched his ears because of his enhanced hearing.
"You will all be transported to the sky lands where you will take the exam. This will happen in five minutes" the speaker let out a buzz before cutting off. Ray noticed a lot of people clenching their ears and even passing out. The people who passed out were removed from the building and the exam.
"Hmm, it seems the test already started" a voice chimed in from behind Ray, as he turned around he was met with a man that was far taller than normal. Standing at 8'7 at least he stood staring at the speakers.
"For someone that has mutations, it seems you have a very heavy weakness you've shown. Not only will I be coming for you now but I'm sure others caught a glimpse." he stared at Ray with a smile before it crumbled off his face as Ray turned towards him with a smile that spread from ear to ear.
" you damn monster," he muttered as everyone started to hover in the air the light enveloped the room quickly and started to spin around the room.
"Ready" was the only word that came out of Ray's mouth as he looked at the guy while he kept grinning at him. Everyone's symbols started to glow.
Ray noticed the symbol on his headband glowing as well before he teleported away from the area he was once in. He was surrounded by darkness after the teleport.
He noticed two things confusing after the teleport that left him staring at thin air.
"Why can I see in the dark? It's pitch black but I can see. It's dark but how come I can see? This is very confusing I can see the outline and the sound bouncing back to me makes it easier to see surfaces" Ray stood up slowly before stumbling towards a wall and staring down the dark hall.
"What exactly do they even want me to do? Is there a goal?"
"What's the exam purpose?!?"
A panel was projected from his symbol on his blindfold.
