The loud shutters of the camera made the young man roll his eyes in annoyance. Clicking his tongue, he pushed past the crowd of reporters who were ready to ask their absurd questions for money, fame, and entertainment. The instant hate against the media was natural For the Crime head department, who was busy making his way inside his office.
His way was blocked by an ocean of reporters.
The similar questions and the sound of the clicking of the camera made his blood boil, rage taking over.
Taking a deep breath, he looked over to the junior inspector who was standing at the entrance.
"Chen I want these reporters gone in 10 minutes, or I'll release my statement which neither you nor the admiral would adore"
His deep noted threat made the younger chuckle nervously intimidated almost immediately. Being the head of the department, he was scary as hell.
"I swear I wasn't aware! I just rushed here"
He defended himself, making the older press his lips together trying to maintain his temper which was already at its peak due to what the higher agency of the crime department had to discuss today. The matter was of serious crime taking place recently.
"Either they are gone or you are"
he warned the boy entering the building, closing the door with a loud thud that resonated.
He silently walked to his office, praying no one will stop him on the way. It was obvious that he woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and misfortune had already been taking place ever since he walked in.
"Sir, the inspector general of police just called in asking for you"
The voice of the woman who was the receptionist at the office chimed in almost a bit hesitant, but it was her job to inform.
Big mistake, actually, her words making him even angrier than he was before.
"Tell him that I'm fucking dead.ms Kim"
he marched past, not staying to hear a single word from anyone. His Patience had reached the peak.
"But sir-" her words left incomplete as he made his way to his office.
The door closed with a loud slam, making everyone in the department aware that their superintendent general was in a bad mood, terrible mood.
There he was the famous inspector of Seoul 'Huang Renjun'
His eyes were deep brown, and the normal cold stare on his face made his aura intimidating.
His hair, chocolate brown, matches his eyes. Suited in formal coat and tie attire. The man was fine as hell if I may add.
He was famous for looking like a killer. He's a detective, short on temper. Yet, he had accomplished every case assigned to him. Call him lucky or genius, but the country did owe him a lot, for he had put down most of the known criminals who were rotting behind the bars.
Taking off his jacket, he rolled his sleeves sitting down with a deep breath.
A knock on his door was heard. Not in the mood to talk, he simply lightly raised his voice.
"Jaemin not now-"
His words left unfinished as he looked up. His eyes met with new ones, tilting his head he examined the girl who had just entered his office.
Her long black hair swayed as she walked, and her facial features were soft. Her pink lips complimented her face with big doe black eyes, she was ethereal.
"What brings you here?" He inquired about her business early in the morning. Hoping it was a piece of better news. In a queue, the senior inspector of the department walked in, ready to inform him of the status.
"She's our new forensic investigator"
Jaemin chimed in as he slid a file to him, which happened to be a CV of the Girl who was standing right In front of him.
"As I already told the director what we need is time, not people, no offense…
He gave a glance at her file to see the name printed.
"Miss Park Seohyun"
He said as calmly as possible. Her name surrounded in place like an echo. The girl inhaled sharply at his behavior.
Is it even more possible for problems to come his way?
Renjun thought. Hearing her sweet voice, he stared at the girl who had just spoken back at him.
"What you need is patience, Mr. Huang Renjun"
Seohyun muttered, her voice soft yet daring. She didn't take No, for an answer, that's who she was. A confident and independent lady.
"Refrain from being arrogant on your first-day ms park" Renjun warned in a monotone. His eyes glaring like ice. She remained unfazed by his threats.
"My apologies but at least read the file you're holding except for my damn name" she mumbled the last part but was heard by the male due to unusual quietness in the department.
Taking a deep breath he opened the file, reading its content. A bit shocked to see that she had been transferred from a higher rank to a case he could have easily solved.
"Why would they transfer you from the national intelligence? Do they think my team is incapable of tracking lowly criminals like as he fucking calls himself 'ace of spades'"
He growled lowly, his blood pressure rising as each second passed by. His ego had been tarnished by the fact he was sent help from the higher-ups he despised.
Seohyun had experience dealing with men, as the Field she had chosen made her move around in places she knew were risky. Keeping her composure, she replied with a stern voice.
"It's only logical that you require a member qualified in forensic sciences, which I am here for, sir," she said, gritting her teeth with a forced smile.
Rolling his eyes he took a deep breath…man, he needed a break, or maybe as the girl said 'patience'
