Chereads / LEGACY OF THE FALLEN FAMILY / Chapter 19 - AN OFFER

Chapter 19 - AN OFFER

"Well done." The girl said.

"Do I know you?" Ragnar asked.

"The name is Sally Thorn. I am sure we have made acquaintance before but you seem to have not known my face or my Identity back then. I was wearing a full body covering kendo gear and the meeting happened in the gym."

"Oh, the Steel-Heart Sword Style girl. I do remember. I honestly didn't expect you to be a girl in there given the strength of your blows. Good to make you acquaintance. I will be taking my leave now." Ragnar said before turning around to leave the place.

"It seems you are oddly biased towards the opposite gender, Mr. Avalon." Sally spoke.

"That is just a choice of words and a description of what I truly felt, Miss Thorn. Beside, why would be waste time on useless talks like this. It was nice to make your acquaintance, again." Ragnar nodded and started walking without turning around.

"If you aren't biased, I hope you would be kind enough to hear out a proposal I have to put forward for you." Sally said.

Ragnar stopped in his tracks and turned around to face her.

"You have my attention. Do speak, but know that I don't tolerate useless talks and waste of my precious time which I would gladly dedicate some productive purpose." Ragnar said with a smile.

"I would like to learn from you." Sally said.

"This conversation is over." Ragnar turned around and started to leave.

"I want you to become my sparing partner." Sally voice had a hint of irritation as well as desperation in them.

"Why do you think I will waste my time in that fashion?" Ragnar asked.

"I think you would be willing to do it for ab adequate compensation. How about this, my family will take charge of providing you with resource package equivalent to what an alpha class students gets in a month everytime we have a session of sparring?" Sally asked.

"I don't know the contents of the resource package, hence I am not able to make a decision. Allow me to have some time to research about it and I would be able to give you a reply." Ragnar said and started to walk once again.

"Here is the list of contents." Sally threw a list at him. Ragnar grabbed it, looked at her with a serious glance before giving the list a read. To say that his interest was piqued would be an understatement. The contents were something about which the system was able to provide information.

"Growth Potion *3

Mana Stones (Low grade)* 10

Mid grade mana stone *3

Recovery elixir(low grade)*2

Special attribute treasure for elemental practitioners or art related (low grade) * 5 or (mid grade) *1"

Ragnar's attention was intrigued. Especially the mana stones, which might help him in the excavation process as well as replenish his mana reserves fast to help him.increase his training speed. If this was what he could gain after every session, it was a great incentive.

"So, is your interest piqued?" Sally asked.

"You are promising all these resources every time we have a sparring session."

"Yes."

"What if you don't like the outcome of the season itself?" Ragnar asked.

"I will pay you either way since your participation will have a compensation equivalent to this." Sally said.

"Very well. We will have our session at the same grounds in the academy. You are to inform me about the possible slots you would like to have the session in and I will choose on e of them according to my convenience." Ragnar said.

"I was hoping we could have these session in my house's private grounds." Sally said. " It is much better than the training facility here and we will have perfect privacy to go all out." Sally said.

Ragnar walked near her until his face was way too close to her eyes.

"I don't believe you and neither are we close enough for you to invite me in your house. Either we have it here, ir we don't have it. Call me when you decide." Ragnar turned around and threw a piece of paper at her, which held his number.

She grabbed it and waited till he left before opening it and giving it a read.

"He is behaving too arrogantly. Should I just capture him and forcefully bring him to the mansion. We can easily force him to be your training partner and even spill his secrets." A voice sounded in her ears.

"No need to do that. The payment I am attributing to him is kind of an investment in then he growth of a capable person. I believe his future is bright. It would be great to have him owe us a favour." Sally said. " Beside father hasn't made any kind of decision regarding him. So we will not take any sort of action that might affect future work."

"Understood."

.....

"Why was she talking with Ragnar?" Sonya spoke to herself. Sally Thron was a prodigy of the alpha class just like her. Someone even compared her to be in the top three of this year's alpha class and there was a rumour going around that she had already being accepted into one of biggest University of the country, before she even graduated. One could feel the extent of her talent and the strength of the power backing her up.

She then rushed towards Ragnar who went back to sit under the tree where he was resting.

"Are you ok? Are you hurt anywhere?" Sonya was really worried about Ragnar's well being. She took her duty very seriously which meant that it was a pain in the ass for Ragnar.

"No need to worry. How did you test went?" Ragnar asked.

"Just like I expected. I have managed to breach the top ten and now am eligible to recived special resource allocation. If I am able to enhance my rankings to top five or better top three, I will recived offers from the top military academies soon." Sonya said.

"Congratulations sis. I am happy for you. Your hardwork seems to have paid off. I am sure your parents will be happy once they know about this." Ragnar smiled before closing his eyes and relaxing his body.

"They are your parents as well and I am sure they would happy to know that you have successfully ranked first in delta class and now will be moving to he gamma class. We still have time before the graduation ceremony where our universities will be decided. If you enter Alpha class by then, you would be able to recieve a lot of invitation to the best universities." Sonya said.

"I will keep that in mind." Ragnar said with a smile.

"Ragnar Avalon, you have been summoned by the principal to come to his office." A man arrived at their location and spoke to Ragnar.

"Why does he wants to talk to me?" Ragnar's mood went off when he heard this. He never like authority, in the past or the present.

"That is something that wil be disclosed once you are in there." The man said.

"I guess, I have gathered some unwanted attention. Very wel, I wil bite the bait." Ragnar jumped to his feet and followed the person.
