Chapter 89 - 88. Strangers on a rainy night

On a rainy night, a luxury car was passing by when it suddenly came to a stop.

"What the heck?" a young woman inside spoke.

She ran her hands through her burgundy waves in irritation.

"A man suddenly came in front of the car." A mechanical voice rang inside the car.

It then proceeded to describe his appearance.

"Hm" the woman tapped her fingers on top of a long exquisite purple stick. "What does he say?"

A few beeping sounds came followed by a man's pleading voice. "Please help me. I beg you. Whoever you are please help me get out of here. They're after me. Please."

The woman smirked "And why should I?"

"I'm a famous actor. I can see you're rich. You can use my popularity to endorse anything." He begged.

"Well, you said yourself that I'm rich so why would I go for you specifically? And a famous actor? If so why are you in such a state?"

The young man was breathing heavily. "I... I was trapped by some malicious... huff.. people. Please. Help.. me."

"Sir you don't understand. We're complete strangers. How should I know that you're not trying to trap me? You could be a fraud."

"Miss, please help me escape. I'll do whatever... you say. Just... please... I beg you." He pleaded again.

"Open the door Stay," The woman ordered.

There was another set of beeping noises and the car opened its door. The man climbed in on all four and sat down shaking.

"Drive." The woman commanded and the car started driving.

From beginning to end she did not look at the person beside her. And simply looked ahead.

The young man was very good-looking. Although he was sweating and breathing heavily and his hair and clothes were messy and his face was flushed he still looked stunning.

After traveling in silence for a while the woman spoke "Where do want to go?"

"Wherever you'll take me to." The man replied.

"I'm going to a hotel." She said smirking.

"Then I'll go there with you." Came the reply.

"Do you know what can happen to you there?"

The man nodded.

"Answer me."

"Y.. yes."

The rest of the journey went in silence.

At a ten-star hotel.

The woman from the car walked ahead while the man followed behind. She was dressed in a tailor-made white shirt and blue trousers with her blue suit jacket over her shoulders. She held her stick in her right hand and her left hand was stuck in her pocket.

She went to the reception and showed the receptionist her reservation slip. The receptionist noted down the number shown on the holographic projection above the woman's watch.

"Thank you. I've sent you the access pass." said the receptionist.

The woman's watch vibrated and a voice rang "Access pass to room 8o87n, Hotel Won received." She nodded at the receptionist and followed the robot to her room. At the door, the scanner scanned the pass before opening the door opened.

"Enjoy your stay." The robot left.

Inside the room.

The woman sat on a single-seat sofa with her legs crossed and her chin atop her stick while the man stood before her, peeking at her face intently trying to guess what she was planning to do to him.

"Are you trying to drill a hole through my face with all that staring?" The woman raised her brows.

"Sorry."

"Sit,"

The man sat on a chair in the farthest corner of her room.

"Ah, mind you only the one with the pass can open the room."

"I... I was not... planning to escape." He said softly.

"Did I say you were?" The woman smiled politely.

"But you... said those things. So.." the man fidgeted.

"Oh, that? I was just speaking to myself. And it extremely coincidentally happens to be that the chair you're sitting on is very conveniently exactly beside the door such that if the door were to open it will only take you exactly two seconds to step out of this room." She smiled again.

The man stayed silent. He nervously tapped his fingers on his knees while peeking at her face from time to time. For a while nothing happened. Then the woman opened her mouth but did not say anything. She just yawned.

She just... yawned? Just when he thought the awkward environment was finally going to end and she would say something she just freaking yawned?

'Stupid woman! Say something.' the man complained in his heart. 'Why on earth is she stalling for time? My heart's going to burst now!'

Another minute passed.

'Oh! She's looking at me. She's definitely going to say something.' The man thought seeing the woman look at him.

The woman indeed sat up straight. She bent forward... and grabbed the... water bottle.

'The heck? Are you freaking kidding me?' The man bit his lips.

The woman finished drinking and got up.

The man glanced at her puzzled by her actions. Then he panicked seeing her head towards him.

'Eki, why is she coming towards me?' He gripped his chair tightly.

She still walked towards him slowly.

'Why is she behaving like a tiger talking towards its prey! Oh no! What am I going to do? I don't have any space to retreat!' He looked here and there trying to find a way to escape.

'What the heck! There's no room for escape.' He cursed.

Suddenly he felt a shadow on him. He turned his head to see that the woman was standing right before him. His eyes widened.

'Just when I thought I managed to escape those monsters. Looks like I landed right under the class of another.' His body stiffened from fear seeing her bend forward.

Panic stricken, he could not even scream.

'Just as I thought she's going to...' he closed his eyes seeing her face coming closer to his.
