She cast a quick glance at Jasper silently seeking his permission to break free from his hold before making her way over to her mother.
Not surprisingly, her mother was surrounded by five women, all of noble status and dressed in a similar fashion as they beamed their smiles at her.
"Thank you for inviting us, Your Majesty and Your Highness," one of the ladies greeted with a courtesy as did the others and straightened their backs.
Scarlet replied politely as she curtsied in response, causing her dress to sway gently around her legs, drawing the attention of many.
"Her Highness is always beautiful. It is a shame someone else is stealing her away," the second lady remarked.
"Of course. As a princess, it is fitting that my daughter gets wedded to a prince to continue the royal bloodline," Queen Diamonique dissed.
