"Y-Y…" Pearl clamped her lips shut. Even if she wished to speak, she knew better and fell quiet immediately and took time to access their situation completely.
They knew no one aside from Kyle whom she clearly warned to stay away from her.
She was not sure but she had a strong feeling he wasn't the one. Although he seemed rugged, he had a gentleness inside of him that made her feel less scared.
And even if she chased him away, she did not believe he would result in banging on their door.
Besides, how was he to know which room exactly she stayed in? With that, she shook her thoughts away and focused her mind on her assailer that continued his banging.
'Is that Zale perhaps?' Pearl pondered within. She shook her head again, denying the possibility. For one, she was sure that should Zale wish to come, she would sense the thudding in her heart in a different way.
