Kye bid them goodbye and watched helplessly as Zale led her away. When he was sure they had gotten out of sight, his lips pulled upward to the side. "You can step out now."
A shadow moved out from behind him at the corner of a shop but still kept a distance.
"You are something else, Lord Dillan," he muttered. He was sure he could hear him even if his voice wasn't loud. "It seems, His Highness has found feelings for this human girl."
The corners of his lips lifted up into a smile. This was new but if the information proved to be good and he loved good news.
"Wipe that grin off your face before I wipe it off myself," Dillan's threatening voice came off strong from behind him.
"Why? Are you not happy?"
"Give me a reason to be."
"His Highness likes a human girl." He waited for Dillan's response first and instead, the stone-faced Lord ignored him. "You should know what that means, do you not?"
