CHAPTER 99
The sound of the door opening alerted both ladies as they sprung to their feet and rushed over.
They stopped not too far from the room when they caught sight of Zale. On seeing him, Claire stopped in her tracks, forcing Pearl to do the same too.
She turned to look at her but as quickly as she did, she saw Claire shake her head.
Understanding what she meant, Pearl excused herself and ran up to Zale, enveloping him in a big hug.
"How are you?" She questioned first and pulled back to stare into his eyes, lest he lied.
"I am fine."
"Sure?"
"Very." She wrapped her arms around his neck once more and hugged him.
"How was everything? How is Cairo?"
"He is fine." As he answered, Zale's hands moved up on her back, hugging her body closer to his.
He failed to tell her how angry he was with himself and the situation. Had he not come back with Pearl, he would never have known.
