"I see." She turned her head to the side and gave Pearl a weak smile. "You even brought her here before going to the fight. She must be really important to you," Claire stated.
"She is very important to me."
"How lucky."
Pearl had to admit, she never believed Zale would utter such a word about her but she was glad he did. It proved whom he wanted.
Placing her left hand on his arm, Pearl returned Claire's smile. "I am."
"My name's Claire, and yours?"
"Pearl."
A pang of jealousy struck Claire as she let her eyes rake over Pearl.
She had to admit, everything, ranging from the crown of her head, her lovely blonde hair, her sweet-looking lips, cute face, round breast, fair skin… everything was beautiful.
Not just that, she had a lovely name to accompany all of her looks.
