CHAPTER 71 – His Return
It was not up to two hours since Pearl's unwanted visitor wandered into her lair when he got up on his feet and announced his departure.
Shocked by the time and hour, she wondered if his earlier words were all a ruse.
He had mentioned before that he needed to rest and continue his journey once the day had become a little brighter.
Looking straight outside, it was obvious dawn had not befallen them.
Regardless, she could not say she was not relieved he was leaving. All that troubled her was the reason why.
"I know you must be wondering why."
Pearl kept her silence and waited for his response. There was no need for her to respond at this point.
He already knew what went on in her head.
The least he could do would be to help out.
"I need rest and protection from whatever was out there in the wild. Now, I have gotten it thanks to you."
"I see."
