Chapter 87 - Chapter 83: I Was Gone For a Few Minutes

Ramiel returned to Luca with Samus and he was trying to find where his group was. "Okay, Samus. Do you have a translator?" Ramiel remembered that the people in Spira didn't speak English.

"Yes, of course I do." She was proud of her suit and Ramiel rolled his eyes. "You know what, how about I give your suit some upgrades?" He smiled at her and challenged her pride.

"You probably can't?" She was sure that the Chozo power suit couldn't be upgraded by anyone.

"Just wait, I'm going to turn you into a walking fortress." He already had some ideas and with the abundant machina in Spira. He could turn Samus to be as strong as Alexander.

"Who are you travelling with anyway? You didn't infect them, right?" She was suspicious of him and imagined his group ganging up on her.

"Geez, why so much distrust? I'm an honest man you know?" Ramiel sighed, but Samus wasn't having any of it.

"What assures me that you aren't just the parasite that took on your memories and just decided to live as Ramiel?" Samus raised a point.

"Well, that's true. Anyways, let's go to my companions. They'll explain why I'm not a parasite." Ramiel went to the stadium where the blitzball game is held.

They went to the special stands where the companions of the players can watch, but only Lulu was there.

"Hey Lulu, where's everyone else? And why isn't Tidus playing? Are you sure Wakka can win this thing?" He watched the match and the star player was missing.

"Yuna heard rumors that sir Auron was in the city. And because Tidus and Yuna knows him, they went together and tried finding him." Lulu explained, she then stared at the tall woman beside him.

"Ahhh, this is Samus. She's an Aeon, a friend of mine. She's a Deus Ex Machina. Or I plan to make her one." Ramiel whispered after explaining who she is.

Samus raised a brow at him and was confused on why he called her a god. "A goddess of Machina? But doesn't the Yevon faith prohibit the use of it?" Lulu was also confused.

"Sin's antithesis is Machina, because the most advanced ones can destroy it. So it destroyed them, Samus here you can call her a final Aeon. Just like me." Ramiel laughed.

"Hey, what are these Aeons?" Samus squinted her eyes at him. "When we find the summoner of my party, she'll explain it to you as well." Ramiel thought it was too troublesome to explain. And she might not believe him.

"Another Aeon at your level? Don't tell me we'll need to just go to Zanarkand and hunt down Sin?" Lulu was looking forward to defeating Sin, for revenge and for Yuna's pilgrimage.

"We'll just go look for Yuna and Tidus. Cheer on Wakka for us." Ramiel looked at Wakka and he was having a hard time. So he casted a cure and regeneration on him to get all the lactic acid in his muscles disappear. Making him as good as new.

Samus tapped him on the shoulders when they were away. "Hey, what's all this talk about being Aeons and other stuff?"

"Hah, you won't believe me anyway. Yuna will explain for you. She's a sweet girl that is like a high ranking priest in this world." Ramiel closed his eyes and tried finding Yuna.

He then frowned because he can't feel her Mako close by. Tidus was near though, so he went to Tidus who was accompanied by Kimari.

"Hey, Tidus. Where's Yuna?" He found them quickly and the blonde kid was panicking. "Ramiel! Yuna has been kidnapped by the Al-bhed team. They wanted us to lose to them."

Ramiel didn't believe it at first, but he was dead serious. "Damn it. I was only gone for a moment, and this happens? Kimari, you were with Tidus. You're her guardian, how can you let her get kidnapped?"

The lion man looked down on the ground in shame. He was occupied with two fellow Ronso's that were taunting him and the Al-bhed team managed to sneak her away.

"S-sorry about that. I was also distracted in trying to find Auron. We didn't notice that she went missing." Tidus scratched his head sheepishly.

"Hah, let's go then. I can quickly find her." Ramiel used their mental connection and he found her at the port.

"They put her on their ship, let's go." Ramiel gave her location and they ran there immediately. He also informed Lulu that they'll handle Yuna's kidnapping.

When they arrived, Kimari took out his polearm and Tidus his sword. They jumped on the clearly more advanced ship of the Al-bhed who uses Machina.

A hatch opened up and they were greeted by a machine that was definitely there to give them a hard time.

"You guys better take care of that, it's your fault in the first place." Ramiel went to the side with Samus and they watched them fight.

"Hey, they're your team are they not? Why not help them to get the kidnapped out quickly?" Samus didn't understand his decision.

"Yuna's alright, she's actually fighting in there. She might be sweet, but she can fight for herself. And if I just intervene in everything they encounter, then they'll be useless in the long run." He shrugged and Samus nodded.

Tidus and Kimari were being shot at by the machine. Metal balls flee from it like a machine gun.

Tidus was looking for something to help them and while dodging, he crashed right onto a terminal. He then saw that it was connected to a crane.

"Kimari, distract it please!" Tidus continued fiddling with the crane and the lion man nodded. "Come on, come on, stupid terminal. Work!" Tidus tried making it work.

Kimari then got hit because there were too many attacks. He groaned, feeling the pretty strong hit on his torso.

Tidus kept at it and the crane finally moved when Kimari couldn't dodge anymore from being bombarded constantly.

The crane went above the machine and latched its claws onto it. Like a crane game, it took off the top half of the machine, but it was still working.

"Let's get this over with!" Tidus went ham at it with his sword. Kimari roared and leaped in the air. He positioned the point of his spear downwards and hit it right in the middle.

Tidus controlled the crane again and it picked up this time wholly because it didn't struggle. The crane then dropped it right onto the waters.

Kimari and Tidus sat down, exhausted. "Lulu, Yuna's safe. Tell Wakka he can go on the offensive now." Ramiel gave Lulu a message.

Yuna then got out of the ship and went up to them. "I hope you hurt them." Ramiel patted her head and she nodded. "A bit."

"We should return to the stadium. Besides, you need to play Tidus." Ramiel gestured for them to go. He healed the two so they can be at 100%.

Everybody returned to the stadium and they were staring at the obvious stranger who was as tall as Wakka.

"Hey, Ramiel. Who is this person?" Yuna asked with curiosity and Samus checked them all out. None of them had been integrated with the x-parasite.

Making Ramiel more believable in her eyes. "I am Samus Aran, a friend of his you can say." Samus succinctly introduced herself.

"He says that she is also an Aeon. At the same level as him, though she is quite different. Her main powers are through the use of Machina." Lulu added and everybody except Tidus gasped.

"But that's the opposite of what the Yevon faith's teachings." Yuna felt that there's a lot of mysteries that keeps on popping up when Ramiel's around.

"Hey, everyone. Can I ask you a few questions?" Samus stared at them and her tone implying she won't accept a no.

They then talked about Ramiel's origins, the world of Spira. How the Aeons worked. Samus then looked at him and thought that was a pretty convincing backstory he made for her.

With her status as a supposed Aeon, they won't get suspicious at all. "Oh, and she's quarter bird, human, jellyfish, and goop. So Samus here isn't just a normal looking human." Ramiel explained.

Samus was about to retort, but that was accurate. "T-that's true." She thought of her genomes and that isn't exactly wrong.

"Quarter bird, jellyfish, and goop?" Tidus raised a brow and stared right at her. Everyone did and Samus looked back at them. "What? Expecting feathers and tentacles or something?" She huffed and took a jab at Ramiel.

The others felt a shockwave from her blow and started sweating. She was hella strong, that they were sure of.

"Well, enough of that. Let's watch Wakka win this match." Ramiel chuckled and pinched Samus' cheeks as payback.

Wakka, knowing that Yuna was safe now. Went on the offensive and miraculously won the team's first ever match.

"Ohhh! Is this a miracle!? The Besaid Aurochs have won their first match in 23 years!" The announcer hyped the match and everyone cheered.

"Damn, I don't know if that's an insult or praise." Ramiel winced, feeling quite bad for the blitzball team of Besaid.

"Is this really their first win in 23 years? They sure suck alright." Samus commented and Tidus nodded, being a star player and all.

"Well, are you ready to win the first trophy for the Aurochs Tidus?" Yuna chuckled and he snorted, confident that they'll no diff the current champions.

Wakka arrived from the match and was really happy. "We defeated the first team without Tidus ya. I think we'll be champions this year." He had a smile on his face.

"Don't be too complacent, you might just have a cramp and lose." Lulu huffed and Wakka glared at her. "Can't you just congratulate us ya? We're the first ones to win and will be in blitzball history."

"I don't think you should be proud of that history." Tidus commented and everybody chuckled.

They then introduced Samus and had a quick lunch for the next match.

"Wait, did you manage to find this Auron person Yuna, Tidus?" Ramiel looked at them and they gave a wry smile.

"Hah, you let Yuna get kidnapped and you didn't even find the guy you're looking for? Well, he might be looking for you guys too." Ramiel sighed.

"Come on Tidus, our match against the Luca Goers is next." Wakka pulled Tidus for their match and they started the game.

"This blitzball game is quite entertaining, how do they breathe underwater though?" Samus looked at them holding their breathes for the whole match. And that was impossible for normal humans.

"Magic." Ramiel commented and she begrudgingly accepted his explanation. "Hey, can I learn this magic as well?" Samus thought it would be a great addition to her arsenal. And it apparently uses the life energy that thanks to her Metroid DNA. Has a great amount of.

"Well, I can teach you later. You'll also need to control it with the upgrades I'll be giving your suit. If you want me to give it some?" Ramiel looked at her and hoped that she wasn't as suspicious now.

"Well, you've proven that you aren't a parasite in disguise. So I'll allow you to do so." She couldn't meet his eyes.

"Heh, being a tsundere doesn't suit you." Ramiel chuckled, seeing a 6'2 super soldier being shy.

"I don't know what that means, but I think that's a bad thing." She squinted her eyes at him and pinched his side with the claws of her Metroid suit.

"Ow, ow! Your Metroid suit's fingers are too sharp!" Ramiel retaliated by pinching her cheeks wide.

"You're really close huh?" Yuna smiled and Samus was dumbfounded. "We are not."

"Stop being a tsundere, we're pretty close aren't we? You even sucked off a lot of my energy." Ramiel had a cheeky smile on his face and put his arm over her shoulder.

"Ahhh, I didn't know you two were in that kind of a relationship." Yuna blushed and Lulu deadpanned at him.

Samus was confused for a second and then she blushed like a tomato. "You're giving them misunderstandings!" She punched him really hard, Yuna and Lulu even got blown away by the air pressure.

"What? That's what you did earlier?" Ramiel rubbed his rib as her blow was a bit too violent.

"Not like that though!" She was about to take out her arm cannon, but she saw that Yuna and Lulu were taking cover. "Sorry, are you guys alright?"

"W-we're fine... But please, can you not have a lover's quarrel when you're with normal people? We'll get roped in by the collateral damage." Lulu got nervous for a bit. Thinking they'll come to blows or something.

"See? You shouldn't be too violent Samus." Ramiel smirked at her and she gritted her teeth. "Shut up, I'll definitely get you back for this later."

They calmed down and watched Tidus win the match. The Luca goers didn't stand a chance and the score was 7-1. Just like Brazil and Germany back in 14.

The team was being awarded and the crowd was going crazy, seeing the eternal losers winning the championships in a crushing victory.

But when they were about to be given the trophy, sinspawn appeared and the stadium was in a panic.

"Ramiel... What are those aliens?" Samus prepared for battle. "They're not aliens, those are wildlife here in Spira. They come from that thing we talked about earlier, Sin."

The gang went to the stadium and Yuna's guardians fought some. Meanwhile, Samus took out her arm cannon and her helmet to target hostiles.

Using micro missiles, dozens of them were launched and they hit the sinspawn in the area on the head. Killing them all in one fell swoop.

The crowd was still in hysteria though, so Ramiel flapped his wings and went to the middle of the stage up in the sky.

His wings covered the skies as they expanded and black feathers fell to the stadium. Everyone looked at him and he stood in the air like there was a platform there.

"Calm down everyone, summoner Yuna and our group has taken care of the sinspawn. Evacuate calmly in nice files." Ramiel's voice spread through Luca.

He thought that Yuna having more influence is better, so he roped her in and told everyone that she was the one that took care of the monsters.

Maester Seymour with goofy ass hair stared right at him with hostility. He was going to use the attack of the sinspawn for his benefit, but they stole the thunder.

Ramiel smirked right at him and whispered. "What are you gonna do about it?"

Seymour can't even cover it up and lie that he did it because everybody was informed that Yuna was the one who took care of them.

He left the premises and Ramiel snickered. "You're in medieval times bub, politics in our time is much more vicious than yours."

After calming down the masses, the Aurochs were awarded by the officials.

"Hey, Samus. What was that attack, that was super cool!" Tidus went up to her and was in awe of her missiles.

She didn't know what to say and just gave a wry smile. Not used to praise from others that were genuine.

While they were talking, a person wearing shades and a red coat went up to them.

"Auron!" Tidus had so many questions for him and Wakka was excited to see Yuna's father's guardian.

"Sir Auron, best guardian that there ever was." Wakka looked like he just saw his hero.

"Tidus, long time no see." Auron looked at the blonde teen and thought he has many questions for sure.
