Chapter 79 - Chapter 76: Counter Offensive

Vincent and Ifalna found the Diamond weapon that was flying to Midgar. It wanted to go to the city to claim more lives there.

"There's that bastard." Vincent saw it and looked at Ifalna. "We should fire at it immediately, Hanz." She went towards Hans and their turrets targeted the platinum giant.

They were given Bismarck because they lacked firepower. With Ifalna focusing more on support unlike Aerith that loves black magic and destruction.

Vincent's Chaos form was a bit too lacking against the biometallic weapons.

The Diamond weapon noticed the congregation of Mako some distance away and it was able to raise a shield.

Armor piercing shells hit its shield and it shattered into a million pieces. Though the rounds weakened substantially and it only did superficial damage to the weapon.

It stared right at them and began firing attacks of its own. Its chest opened up and it released a beam of energy like iron man's unibeam.

The fragarchs of Bismarck intercepted it and the auxiliary guns on deck began peppering it nicely.

Jets loaded with hellfire missiles arrived because they were nearer to Midgar. Rockets started following the platinum giant and it flew to the skies.

"Damn, it's more maneuverable than we thought." Vincent stared at it as it dodged the missiles following it.

A hatch then opened on its shoulders and small lasers fired like Shin Godzilla. It did a barrel roll and intercepted the missiles with it.

Vincent and Ifalna covered their faces from the strong winds and they saw that it was quickly on a path straight at them.

"I'll give you some buffs Vincent, I'll stay here at the ship and direct the spells that the ship can amplify with the Nouliths." Ifalna casted a speed buff on him and Vincent nodded.

"I know you've got my back." He dropped down from the ship and transformed into his Chaos form.

He spun in the air and dark spheres of magic formed at the tip of his wings. The humanoid metal construct saw him with its many beady eyes.

It flew backwards while facing him and the hatch on its shoulders opened once again. Vincent's magic got sliced apart, making him click his tongue.

"This guy needs fast hitting spells and attacks. Ifalna, use lightning on it! It will only intercept slow moving spells!" Vincent communicated with her and she nodded.

Ifalna used the Nouliths on the ship and began casting a spell. With the help of the huge Materias in the ship, tons of thundaga spells were targeted at the enemy.

It noticed the volume of the spells and began constructing a barrier once again. "Oh no you don't!" Vincent filled Cerberus with his Mako and three black beams were fired.

With his marksmanship, it hit the head of the weapon before it could make a stronger shield. It got distracted and Ifalna fired the lightning spells.

It was bathed with copious amounts of lightning. The crew and the duo covered their eyes from the intense lights and they watched it drop down to the ground.

Its metallic body was melted at multiple places because of the currents that heated it up and Ifalna was happy with the results.

Bismarck was about to fire its turrets once again, locking its sights onto the weapon. But it screeched and balls of energy appeared under the ship.

The spheres suddenly exploded and the ship tilted, barely missing the weapon.

"Tough bastard!" Vincent turned up the heat and kept firing at it while releasing a barrage of dark magic.

The weapon released some short range lasers from its eyes and made the dark spheres of magic explode.

It created a set of its explosive magic at Vincent's location and he was surrounded by them. He went wide eyed, but Ifalna was able to cast a barrier on him before it exploded.

Though it wasn't as strong as she'd liked and Vincent still got injured from the strong explosions.

The hatch on its chest opened and fired a beam right at him and Vincent dived down to evade. He went close right at its face and thought of dodging the short range lasers from its eyes.

But that was a bad decision, as the hatch on its shoulders opened and fired small lasers all over him.

He got pierced at multiple parts of his body, making him groan.

The weapon then got hit by another group of rounds. Its body got torn apart at multiple places by the gravity imbued shells.

Ifalna casted a cure on Vincent and began preparing for another round of lightning spells.

The weapon was quickly regenerating as its once molten body cooled down enough to be reformed quickly.

It pointed its arms, shoulders, and all of its armaments at the ship. Lasers and beams battered the shields of Bismarck, making it shake.

"Vincent! Our shields are going to be breached!" Ifalna could feel it due to using most of its power output in casting tons of spells.

Vincent quickly rammed it on the side and fired at its chest pointblank. "Dodge!" Ifalna shouted out as the thundaga spells hit it once again.

"Fire the shells with flare spells on them!" Vincent ordered as he thought that it would be molten once again.

But it cast off its heavy armor and shoulder weapons. Looking like a feral beast that was on all fours.

It lunged right at Vincent and its unexpected gain in speed surprised him. Like Pikachu, it used a volt tackle on him and crashed right at him.

He went flying like a pebble and it was about to lunge once again right at him for a follow up.

But it was thwarted as the thing got too distracted by Vincent and a gravity spell hit it right on. Its metal body crashed on the ground and cracked.

Vincent stood up with difficulty and smirked right at it. He fired Cerberus at it as much as he could, targeting its joints so it won't be able to stand up.

Before the thing could regenerate, Bismarck fired its special shells on it and with a terrible explosion. It was consumed by the bullets that had flare spells inside of it.

Vincent then kneeled on the ground and returned to his normal form, panting heavily. He got considerably damaged a few times and the volt tackle it did on him was quite strong.

"You okay?" Ifalna used a cure spell on him and patted all over him to see if he had anything broken.

"I'm fine Ifalna, good work." He smiled at her and stood up. "Let's go back to Midgar, Bismarck might be needed there.

They then felt the massive pulse of Mako in the direction of Midgar. Even from far away, they could see the skies change color because of Bahamut prime's summoning.

"That's bad news, let's go!" Vincent carried Ifalna and they went to the ship.

Earlier nearby the waters of Junon, Genesis and Angeal looked at the destroyed city with a frown. "It destroyed Junon. This thing will destroy everything that's nearby the water if this keeps up." Genesis commented.

Angeal nodded and he took out a red Materia. "That's why we're given this." He looked at Genesis and they began summoning.

The Leviathan appeared and it gave a passing glance at Genesis and Angeal. Accepting them for now as Ramiel gave the Materia to them.

It quickly found something dangerous swimming in the depths below and dived. Angeal and Genesis raised a brow, thinking that it escaped them.

But they suddenly felt some tremors below the waters. "It's luring it up! Prepare yourself!" Genesis began imbuing his sword with a compound spell of fire and lightning.

Angeal nodded and brandished his buster sword. He then enhanced his body to the max in order to give his maximum output immediately when it exited the water.

They floated into the sky once the water got increasingly violent. The two saw shadows below, then in the next instant. The summon and Sapphire weapon were entangled above the waters, fighting for dominance.

"Now!" Genesis commanded and Angeal went in. He flew to the side of the Sapphire weapon. and kicked it right on its head.

The Leviathan then helped by whipping it with its tail. The giant that doesn't have feet flew to land and Genesis squinted his eyes.

He saw the chance and cut off one of its arms from its shoulders. His blade elongated and the intense heat of the plasma melted off its arm.

The weapon screeched and glared right at Genesis. Its tail hit him, making him fly right into the waters.

"Genesis! Damn, you should've seen that coming." Angeal clicked his tongue and thought he'd come back.

He didn't want to squander the opportunity and used his large blade to cut off its other arm while it was stunned and rampaging.

Angeal sliced up its other arm and backed off immediately. The Leviathan then fired a pressurized water jet right on its body that cut it in half.

Angeal thought that was it, but it started to piece itself back together and began fighting the Leviathan for control of the water.

Genesis went back to the land and coughed up some water. "That damned fish got me there." He glared at it and saw that the two giants were having a face off of some kind.

"Glad your mug is okay, they're having a tug of war for the water. Come on, let's finish it off." Angeal slapped him on the back and they teamed up.

Genesis threw numerous fire spells at it and due to its weak fire resistance, it lost its influence to the water and the Leviathan took it for itself.

Angeal jumped right at its head and split it in half. Genesis stabbed his blade right at its body and let it rip.

The spell in his blade got released into its body and it exploded violently. Genesis didn't let up and began firing firaga spells at it as much as he could.

Leviathan made the water denser and consumed its energy for a tidal wave. "We have to dodge!" Angeal and Genesis jumped upwards and the huge tidal wave hit the Sapphire weapon.

Its superheated metal body crumbled from the sudden changes of temperature as well as the weight of the tsunami.

Genesis and Angeal nodded at the power of the Leviathan and thought that they would definitely not be able to beat it without its help.

They then felt the earthquakes and saw volcanoes rise from the waters as they erupted. "Something's wrong, did you feel that pulse of Mako?" Angeal frowned heavily.

"Yeah, it's coming from Midgar." Genesis looked towards their home. The sound coming from there then reached them. It was deafening and they knew that shit was going down there.

At the desert biome, Cloud, and Zack monitored the sands for the Ruby weapon while Aerith bathed in the sun. In her words, might as well get a tan.

"Any sightings of our problem?" Aerith asked, they were roaming for some time now. But any signs of red were absent.

"Why don't you help in searching? Don't you like have a spell that could help or something?" Cloud rolled his eyes and Zack pinched her cheeks.

"Ow, ow, ow! Geez, alright alright. I thought you guys were sending pulses of Mako already as a sonar. But apparently you weren't." She pouted at them and Zack sighed.

"If we were, you'd have felt it. But we did forget~" Zack gave a sheepish smile and scratched his head.

"Hah, so you were just looking down there? Like the doofus you guys are? Hah, maybe I should just go after Ramiel-nii like Tifa? Even mom likes Vin-chama, maybe it's because they're smart?" Aerith gave a smile at Zack.

He went wide eyed and was shocked. "I'm just kidding you know~ I would honestly feel like a total loser. Tifa's just on another level, she worked really hard to keep up with them. I prefer to be more relaxed."

She shivered thinking about studying, training, and min-maxing everything in her life to not disappoint someone like Ramiel or Alexandra. And it wasn't for everyone. Even the best would falter from their seemingly perfect selves and make their confidence crumble into dust.

Zack sighed in relief and Aerith tried to locate the Ruby weapon with a Mako sonar.

"Over there! There's a large concentration there that isn't the lifestream." Aerith pointed at a direction and they immediately went to it.

"Where is it though?" Cloud raised a brow at her and thought she was lying. "It's just right under us! I swear." Aerith noticed his skepticism and huffed at him.

"Nyan, nya nya!" A meowfficer went up to them and saluted. "I think the little guy has something up his sleeve." Zack pointed at it and the meowfficer nodded with confidence.

"Okay, little guy. Let it rip, we're ready to face it head on." Zack patted it on the back and it went back to its station.

"I'll buff you guys up." Aerith waved her staff and gave them barriers as well as a speed and regeneration buff.

"Okay, let's do this." Cloud squinted his eyes and they waited to jump the Ruby weapon.

After some time, they heard something drop and it was a special kind of bomb. A supersonic warhead that is very effective in tight spaces as well as the sea. San Diego is a support vessel after all. It deals with crowd control and mobs.

The bomb went deep into the sand and the trio waited. With Aerith concentrating, ready to throw a huge spell at it.

After a few seconds, they felt the sands explode and a wave of unhearable sound waves passed through their bodies, making their insides vibrate.

"Holy crap. That was really uncomfortable... I wouldn't want to get hit by that." Zack imagined the damage it would do to a person that was near the intended range.

"Their organs might rupture or something. I don't even wanna know what it does to people." Cloud commented and they waited for their target.

It suddenly appeared from the sands and Aerith's staff spun in front of her. A thick laser suddenly hit it on the chest and tore a hole through its body as the red giant's body smoked from the heat.

"Come and get it!" Zack immediately leaped and Cloud followed suit. Aerith began her next spell and orbs started orbiting around her.

San Diego fired electrified nets at it that wrapped around its body like bolas. It immediately showed its effects and the body of it began glowing red hot from the heat.

It roared and released a dark red beam from the jewel in its abdomen to San Diego. The laser crashed right at its shields, but its relatively weaker shields compared to her sisters made the ship go out of control in the air. Disabling their fire support from.

"They're fine! Don't look back!" Zack shouted out to Cloud who was worried. Zack opened up the battle by trying to imitate Alexandra's crescent cleave.

Though his specs weren't up to par and only two crescent shaped slashes were released from his blades.

It also lacked firepower, though it compensated with the elemental spells he imbued onto his sword.

The two energy slashes hit its torso and left a deep x mark on its body. "Watch out!" Cloud filled his muscles with Mako and went to the front as the vanguard.

Ruby elongated its claws and slashed right at them who were in midair. Cloud met the claws head on and he was disadvantaged due to the size difference.

He was sent flying to the sands as he let out a groan. Zack was able to dodged the second set of claws and he went to regroup with Cloud.

San Diego began firing its turrets and kept the red giant in place, buying Zack some time to rendezvous.

Aerith shook her head and glared at Ruby. "That made me dizzy." She willed her orbiting orbs to fire a barrage of fire spells on it.

The weapon took to the skies and avoided the onslaught of spells.

"Tch, this is going to be really annoying." Aerith clicked her tongue and she wracked her brains of ways to ground it down.

It flew right at them and wanted to hit them with its elongated claws. But the Adamantite hull of the ship that was protected by barriers proved to be too hard.

Aerith jumped before it hit the ship so she won't stumble and filled her orbs with Mako. It fired lasers at Ruby's head and hit its eyes.

It started rampaging in the air and swung wildly. "Maneuver the ship behind it! We need to shoot down the thrusters on its back!" Aerith barked orders and San Diego's engined whirred.

She casted a flare right on to one of its thrusters on its back and it was both deprived of the ability to fly and sent downwards to the sands below from the force.

Cloud and Zack who were waiting immediately used their most powerful moves.

Cloud chopped up its limbs with omnislash and Zack destroyed the large glowing crystal in its abdomen, along with its torso with a flurry of strikes from his plasma swords.

It stuck its claws to the ground and they knew it would come from below. So they tried dodging, but the sand was being manipulated by it and before they could notice, they were already almost knee deep.

Aerith casted some barriers on them and the other fragarchs that could reach shielded the two with as much as they can.

Zack and Cloud flew away from the impact and Aerith caught them with her telekinesis. They were groaning heavily, clutching their stomachs.

"Fuck, thanks for the save. We would've been skewered if it weren't for you guys." Zack gave a wry smile.

They checked the status of the weapon and it was starting to piece itself together. "Ram it! Kill it with all we've got!" Aerith shouted out to the crew.

San Diego's large hull casted a shadow at the body of the Ruby weapon as it looked upwards. Aerith casted gravity magic on it with all her strength to pin it down and made some ice below it to maximize the impact.

The light cruiser crashed right on top of its body and shattered its torso.

Aerith then carpet bombed its body to oblivion after seeing that it was still moving and wriggling.

They waited for the sand to settle and saw that it wasn't responsive anymore. Aerith casted one last flare spell on it to make sure it was dead as hell.

"Always double tap." She gave a peace sign, panting heavily as she used up a lot of magic.

She then craned her neck in an instant to the direction of Midgar. "Oh no, we need to get back to Midgar immediately!" Aerith could feel the horrifying amounts of Mako there and her two companions trusted her.

At Midgar, after Ramiel caused a world wide earthquake. The dust settled and he clicked his tongue.

Bahamut prime shielded most of the army behind it and there was obviously no damage on its scales and body.

Though he was pretty thankful that the terrain is at their advantage now. It was fractured and cracked for miles. The enemies will have a hard time crossing to reach Midgar.

Bahamut flew to the air and was starting its attacks with a Megaflare. Meanwhile, Bahamut prime stretched its wings and spells were casted just like that.

Hundreds of meteors devastated the landscape even further. It roared and flew in circles around Midgar.

Thousands of fire balls that trailed right behind it, tracing fire on its trajectory. They then began falling down on Midgar.

Alexander glowed and it raised a shield as a magic circle appeared over Midgar. The civilians all saw the fireballs explode around them.

Midgar's surroundings were drowned by fire and lava. The land was scorched and more and more fire continued to fly everywhere.

Bahamut who was preparing a Megaflare was noticed by the titan and it roared. The titan picked up a huge chunk of earth on the ground and waited patiently.

Bahamut's mouth burned blue and it released a large blue fireball right at Midgar. The titan threw the large boulder almost the size of a mountain.

Ramiel understood what it was doing and helped the trajectory of the boulder to hit the Megaflare.

Right above the city of Midgar, an explosion vaporized the hunk of rock the titan threw. Hurricane like winds spread the fire that Bahamut prime was pouring out like an open dam.

The western continent's temperature was beginning to rise and it was like hell on earth.

Mutants and other soldiers on the ground that survived fired everything they got at the fortress that is Alexander.

Acid, artillery, bullets, magic. Whatever under the sun was fired at Midgar.

Ramiel threw his halberd right at Bahamut and nailed it right on its chest. It spiralled down to the ground but was definitely not done.

He riftwalked right in front of Bahamut prime that was wreaking havoc and filled his leg with as much Mako as possible.

Giving an axe kick right at its head. A massive shockwave was released upon impact that extinguished the area around from fire.

Bahamut prime fell down to the ground like a meteor, shattering the ground for hundreds of meters upon impact.

It shook its head and glared at Ramiel hatefully, its red eyes glowing menacingly.

"Come at me!" They flew right at each other and the beast tried biting him. He went right in to its jaws and stopped it from closing.

Ramiel was about to deliver a fatal blow right inside its softer insides, but it breathed out a beam of fire. It then continued on with its breath attack and made it even larger.

The nearby mountains that were in the trajectory was blasted off from the face of Gaia and was vaporized.

Ramiel created a shield that was pointed in front and cut through it, splitting the beam in half.

Bahamut prime glared right at the mountain and saw Ramiel with a few singes on his skin. His clothes were gone and he snapped his fingers, donning some pants at least.

"That the best you could do? Then let's hit a bit harder." He taunted the beast and it flew right at him. Accompanied by thousands of fireballs that obeyed its will.

Alexander faced the armies that were trying to breach its shields and it glowed red. The horde of enemies tried putting up barriers of their own.

But a quick swipe of Alexander's divine light swept through a line and parted the clouds that blotted the sky.

Everything that was swept by the laser of death turned to dust and it split the fractured clean in half.

The beam then split into multiple ones, encompassing through the battlefield. Vaporizing thousands of lives like a mower that reaped grass.

Bahamut fired a breath attack right at it and the summons noticed each other.

Alexander released seeking missiles of energy at it as it tried dodging in the sky.

The titan saw that Alexander was occupied by Bahamut and began running at the fractured army that was quickly losing its numbers.

It jumped and hit the ground with its fist. Large pieces of rock erupted from the ground and destroyed them even further.

Ramiel slugged Bahamut prime on its mug and grabbed its tail. He left the battlefield to the titan and Alexander and threw the dragon right at a mountain far away from Midgar.

He clapped and tried containing it inside rubble. "Planetary devastation!" The dragon violently struggled as it was pulled inside. The pieces of the mountain creating a prison for it.

He then casted gravity magic on the outside, squeezing its contents to the maximum. The rock sphere turned smoother and smaller by the second.

Though its wings pierced through it and the sphere cracked. Fire flowed from the seams. Ramiel heard a roar as it flapped its wings and the dense rocks got superheated.

It turned into meteors and crashed onto the ground, turning everything it hit into molten lava.

"This is going to be rough." Ramiel squinted his eyes and raised his hand. His halberd coming back to his hand.

Bahamut prime roared once again and collected Mako in its mouth for a simple Megaflare. Ramiel charged his halberd with a compound spell of flare and thundaga.

The dragon fired it at him with no down time, unlike Bahamut that needed to collect a lot of energy and concentrated it to a beam.

He threw his halberd right at the laser and the point of his weapon cut right through it due to the surface area.

Ramiel teleported right below it and delivered an uppercut. Its large head snapped backwards, making it lose consciousness for a split second.

He then swung the axe head of his weapon right at its chest. Bahamut prime cried out in pain and landed on the ground with an explosion.

It looked at him with hatred and it was tired of his struggle. So it began superheating, the surroundings starting to melt by its mere presence.

Bahamut prime's scales glowed a brilliant crimson and roared. Volcanoes began arising and erupting in its vicinity.

"We're just beginning huh, then have at thee." Ramiel began loosening up, his arms starting to look an ethereal azure.
