Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Missing Friends

Ramiel was standing at the tip of his ship and enjoyed the wind. "Ahhhh, making my way downtown, flying fast, engines on full blast, and I'm homebound." Ramiel sang with his deep voice while humming a tune.

"What the hell is he singing? That song definitely doesn't match his voice..." Alexandra deadpanned at him.

"Master, I've got to agree with Alexandra there..." Genesis nodded and Ramiel squinted his eyes at them. "The internet will definitely teach you guys my forbidden knowledge later."

"We're near Nibelheim now. Wow, it isn't that far away from Wutai. But we still travelled quickly, that only took what? A few days? Angeal was amazed.

"Umu, we could have also travelled quicker. But Bismarck used up a lot of energy due to the battle with the Leviathan. So I'm recharging the huge Materias." Ramiel nodded in satisfaction at the role of the ship for the earlier fight.

Alexandra looked towards the village and breathed some of the fresh air in Nibel. But she saw something wrong and her slit pupils contracted even further. "The manor… The manor is gone!" Alex announced and Ramiel craned his neck so quick that everybody thought it would snap.

"Hanz! Park the ship at this coordinate!" Ramiel gave a piece of paper to the lead engineer and jumped out immediately. He went to the manor and saw that it was now a piece of rubble. "W-what happened?" Ramiel lifted up the rubble, trying to look for any clues.

Alex arrived with him and frowned heavily. "Gast used the self-destruct button on the manor?" She checked how recent it was, and the remnants of explosions were old. Plants were also starting to grow out of control. Burying the rubbles of the manor in overgrowth.

Ramiel quickly called Lazard. "I want you to check Midgar, now! Every part of it, no corners unchecked! Hojo is on the loose!" The director went wide eyed and Lazard quickly ordered all his personnel to find a trace of Hojo.

"What happened? I thought he was in Gast's care?" Lazard frowned and thought he was in their control. "I don't know… Aerith, Ifalna! Lazard, I'm sending a picture of two people. I want you to find them in Midgar! They're the last Ancients, we can't let Hojo get his hands on them!"

Lazard furrowed his brows and thought they were in big trouble. "I'll try." Lazard cut the call to start searching for Ifalna and Aerith around Midgar.

The group then went their ways to Nibelheim. Intending to look for some answers from Cloud and Tifa. "Ramiel-nii, Alex-nee!" Tifa found them while she was exercising with Cloud. And they were starting to grow up now from the years they haven't met. (pic)

"Tifa, Cloud. Nice to meet you again, but can you tell us what happened to the manor?" Ramiel squinted his eyes, his tone urgent. "Ahhh, we were going to ask about that actually. Suddenly at night some time ago, an explosion shook Nibelheim and everyone was gone from the manor."

"Any sightings of Aerith or Ifalna. How about old man Gast?" Ramiel wished they were fine. Cloud and Tifa shook their heads, having no idea what their status were. "Though we did find someone under the rubble." Tifa remembered and the twins raised a brow.

"Yeah! The guy was a devil! He called himself Vincent Valentine. We were about to introduce him to Tifa's parents, but he suddenly transformed into a devil and flew away!" Cloud still remembered it vividly and was quite passionate about his explanation because only Tifa believed him.

"A devil?" Alexandra looked towards Ramiel and he went into a deep thought. "Vincent Valentine? I've read about him. Our mother did some experiments on him… Something about the protomateria and chaos. A tainted type of the lifestream…"

He wasn't too sure about it, as Lucrecia's research got shut down and the data about it weren't stored properly. But Vincent Valentine was a bodyguard of the scientists that underwent extensive experiments from Hojo after Lucrecia was done with him.

"That guy might know a thing or two." Ramiel texted Lazard and added Vincent to their wanted list. He then sighed, massaging his temples due to the incoming headache. He didn't quite expect that Hojo will be able to escape. He even gave Gast a mystify Materia to use confu on him regularly.

"Alexandra, stay here for a bit. I'm going to Midgar." Ramiel squinted his eyes and he decided to take down Shinra for now. He jumped into the air and disappeared into the skies. Flying at breakneck speeds to Midgar.

Alex sighed and she looked at the four she was going to babysit. "We've got tons of time you four. I'll be shaping you up into proper heroes that you want to be." She cracked her knuckles and they winced. "Uhhh, can't we wait for Ramiel-nii?" Cloud knew they'll be in a world of hurt and hoped for Ramiel to be their trainer.

"No can do, squirt. You'll be staying with me. Things changed, you'll be in big trouble if they decide to do something to you. And we can't have that. We should've given Aerith and Ifalna some weapons that only they could use or something." Alex sighed and squinted her eyes at the four trainees.

"Drop and give me 50." Alex casted a gravity spell on them that was appropriate for their strength and build. Able to see their anatomy and structure with a glance. "This is gonna suck." Cloud sounded out and his new comrade Genesis nodded.

At Midgar, Shinra's troops that were controlled by Lazard was checking everything. Making Vincent suspicious of their activities. "They're probably searching for you two. This is going to be quite the mess. I hope you guys are prepared to fight."

Ifalna and Elmyra frowned and were ready with their weapons that Vincent procured them. Meanwhile, Aerith was suited up in some armor because they don't want stray shots to hit her.

Lazard checked every nook and cranny of the slums for the two targets that Ramiel emphasized. And with their surveillance, he was able to check some suspicious activity in sector 5. There were reports of something falling from the sky and plant life suddenly springing up. Which is a well-known characteristic of the Ancients.

He called Ramiel and the blistering comet who was blazing through the skies created a barrier and answered the call. "What? Any updates?" Ramiel squinted his eyes and was getting impatient. "We found some suspicious activities on the sector 5 slums. Activity that is in line with the Ancient's powers."

Ramiel nodded and checked his phone for their coordinates. "Thanks, old man you're quite competent at your job." He cut the call and went even faster. A pulse of Mako escaped from his body and he flew like a super quick missile that had its target.

At Elmyra's house, both Aerith and Ifalna looked at the skies and were anxious immediately. Vincent noticed and frowned, now knowing they could feel some things due to their power. "What is it? Is something coming?"

Ifalna nodded gravely. "A huge beacon of Mako is coming right here, it will arrive in a minute or so. Whatever it is, you can't beat it Vincent…" Ifalna looked at Aerith and was concerned that they'll get captured once again.

"Go, I'll keep it busy for now." Vincent resolved himself. "We can't just leave you here like that!?" Elmyra wanted to escape together.

"Now!" Vincent shouted out, but before they could go. They felt tremors as something crashed right outside.

"Quickly! Hide!" Vincent clicked his tongue and brandished Cerberus. He went outside, preparing for battle.

Ramiel squinted his eyes at Vincent. "Who the hell are you? Drop your little toy, we can either do this the easy way. Or the hard way."

Vincent froze when he saw Ramiel and he kept on pointing Cerberus at him. So he closed the distance between them and disarm him.

Vincent wasn't able to react and in a split second, he could only feel Ramiel's hand on his face. He then got his world rocked, his head buried on the ground. Ramiel slammed him down, cracking the earth.

Vincent was strong though, so he was still conscious. And Ramiel thought that he was still combat effective. "You're pretty tough aren't you?"

He was about to stomp on his arm holding Cerberus. But Ifalna went out of the house when she recognized his voice.

"Wait, wait! He's friendly!" Ifalna shouted out and Ramiel furrowed his brows. "Then who is this guy?" Ramiel stepped back and stared at Vincent who was still a bit dazed. Receiving an ass whooping from his son which shocked him greatly.

"He's the one who helped us escape from Shinra. Don't beat him up, okay?" Ifalna broke into a cold sweat as he was about to crunch Vincent's arm earlier.

"Well, this is awkward." Ramiel gave a sheepish smile and didn't quite know what to do. So they just stared at each other with an awkward silence.
