Chapter 10 - Licking wounds

Robert was running through the tunnel. Even though he could not see, he still remembered the way. He could hear scampering behind him. As he ran the sound became farther away.

His head still hurt and was bleeding. While his left arm still dangled limp. He was pretty sure his arm was out of its socket.

Eventually the stairs came into view. he ran up the stairs 2 at a time. When he reached the main room he barged through the door out into the street. Running into an alley he fell over wheezing in pain. It would take a at least a couple minutes for the goblins to catch up to him.

He was panting, but his mind was slowly calming down. The strength was also starting to disappear. He remembered there was still a healing potion in his waist pouch. Robert began to think "would the healing potion pop my shoulder back into place?" He was not sure and cursed at his own Stupidity for not asking Urag more questions.

He looked at his arm for a long moment. In the end he decided it is better to be safe then sorry.

He pulled out his knife and bit down on the handle to muffle any noise he made. It was definitely going to hurt, a lot. He put his hand against the alley wall and straightened it. In 1 motion he pushed. Searing pain went up his arm as he heard a click. His screams of pain were muffled as he bit hard into the handle.

Robert rolled back down to sitting on the ground. He huffed and panted. He could finally move his fingers though.

Not wasting any more time he pulled out the healing potion with his right arm. He pulled off the cork with his teeth. Then Gulped it all down in about 3 seconds.

Warmth spread through his body. The pain in his head subsided and his arm was slowly being fixed. The potion was already working miracles.

The only problem was he was still dead tired. Passing out in some alley way was practically suicidal. So his only option was to get back home.

Using his right arm he pushed himself off the ground. Leaning against the wall he began to walk.

The walk back home was arduous and long. By the mercy of the gods nothing attacked him so he got home still in one piece. He fell asleep before his head even hit the pillow.

The next day Robert woke up still feeling pretty terrible. Although his head pain was gone his arm was still sore and hard to move. The sun was currently in the middle of the sky showing it was the afternoon.

Now he had to figure out what to do moving forward. Thinking for a while he came to one solid truth "I need to get stronger." Now that he had a what he needed a how. This was much harder, but he eventually came up with an answer. The answers name was Urag.

Currently he had 52 gold, the short bow, and the magic book. Robert figured that because Urag was a merchant that he could sell the magic book and short bow for more money. With that money he could buy something to help him.

Now the last problem the where. Robert and Urag met only by chance. He also had no idea where he currently was. He best solution was to go back to where they first met.

Now that Robert made up his mind he acted. He went to where his first battle with the goblins was and where he met Urag. He waited for a while, but no Urag. Robert thought to himself "this is stupid, what are the chances I actually run into him again. Well at least on the bright side I can waste a day waiting. My arm is still hurt so I can not use my sword properly." Robert sighed.

As the hours went by and still nothing Robert began to count the houses, and stare at the clouds. This was a new enemy he had yet to face, waiting.

Eventually the sun began to set covering the sky in light red. Robert was fighting himself to not fall asleep when he heard a familiar voice behind him "it seems you are still alive friend."

Robert turned his head and saw his only friend in this lonely city, Urag.
