The sky is bright orange. That afternoon, a woman walked in her high heels. The sound of high heels coming from her feet made a man sitting with his head down in front of a gate turn his head.
"Who are you?" asked the woman, tilting her head. She was confused to see a boy who was still in high school uniform sitting in front of her door.
And again, there were bruises from beatings here and there that made him ache.
"Me? I'm William, didn't your father say something to you?" he asked casually.
Judging from the way he spoke, it seemed that the man named William was forced to go there.
"You want to meet my father? Come in!" Sarah stood in front of the door and opened it for both of them.
William followed Sarah from behind. Every now and then he grumbled because he didn't want to be there at that time.
There is something Sarah still doesn't understand. Why did the young boy want to meet her father?
As soon as he entered the house, Sarah's father was standing at the end of the stairs. He threw his smile at William broadly.
Her father didn't usually welcome guests--especially when his guests were teenagers who had no business interests.
" Are you acquainted?" asked John, Sarah's father.
Sarah glanced at William. She didn't care and didn't want to know. And just walked into her room. Because she felt her duty to take William to meet her father was done.
But that's not the case. Soon Sarah was in her room. A maid told Sarah to meet her father in the living room.
"What for? Should I go there?" she asked.
"I do not know, miss," replied the maid. She closed the door slowly then disappeared from behind the door.
She took a deep breath. She hurriedly put on her shirt and buttoned it carelessly and headed out to meet the two of them.
"Sit down," said John, with an unpredictable smile.
Sarah sat down and studied the two faces in turn. There is something strange!
"Introducing, he is William. Your husband-to-be," said John.
At first Sarah did not feel that there was anything strange about her father's words. However …
"Wait a minute, what did daddy say? My future husband?"
Sarah looked at William. She was sure that the boy was still in school. And also sure if William is not an old man who is happy to wear a uniform to other people's homes.
"No, I don't want to," Sarah said firmly.
John's face turned slightly angry. He tried to cover it up with a bitter smile on his lips.
"Come with daddy for a bit," said John.
Sarah followed behind her father. Then wait for John to explain what really happened.
"So?" she asked.
"Dad was in debt, and daddy's company was on the verge of bankruptcy."
"Then what's the problem?"
"William's father said if he wants to marry his son to you, then he will help me to manage the company. How?
"William is the future CEO of Wonder. Don't you know?
"No, and I don't want to know."
"Until when do you want to be a teacher? You became a teacher just because your late mother asked, right? Marry William and you will live happily."
"But… I and William are obviously very far apart in age."
"You two are only three years apart. Is there something wrong?"
Sarah massaged her own head. She felt dizzy. Her life was still beautiful a few hours ago, before a teenage boy named William came and wanted to meet her father.
And now Sarah has to feel like she's been hit in the head by a hammer because suddenly her father wants she to marry William.
"William's father has seen you. He wants you to change, William. Look at that kid's face. He just got into a fight with the naughty kids. He almost got kicked out of school," explained John Tucker.
"So? Father asked me to change the child for the better?"
"You're so smart." John could already laugh. "It's up to you and he wants to have children or not? Because he was still in the third grade of high school. But what is clear, William's father's goal is only for you to change his son for the better."
Sarah thought silently. He looked at William, who was obviously very quiet. But Sarah is afraid that William is secretly scary.
"Help your father here," said John. "At least help until your father's company is stable."
John pushed Sarah's shoulder. Ask Sarah to chat with William.
Sarah looked back but all she saw was her father's face whining at her.
"Why must you sacrifice me?" muttered Sarah.
William looked up. His blue eyes momentarily fascinated Sarah. Since when did that boy have such good eyes? Then her eyelashes curled. With straight hair but looks wet.
"Are you alright?" she asked.
"Are you the only child of John Tucker?" William asked instead.
"Hmm yeah, why?"
"Should I marry a woman? Not a girl?"
Sarah furrowed her brows, looking in surprise at William. So, William hoped that he would marry another girl.
"I thought you already knew that I was your future wife," Sarah said half mockingly.
"Yeah, I know. But I don't want to give up hope. Because maybe John has another daughter."
"Shit," Sarah cursed.
"You're a teacher, you can't say bad things to me."
"Why? You are the one who deserves to be cursed, right?"
William smiled. "Because soon maybe I'll be going to the school where you teach."
Sarah's eyes widened. "What?"
"Since the talk is over, so I'll be going. Let's just say we agreed to get married." William stood. He turned to Sarah with a mocking smile. "Don't worry, I already have a girlfriend. So I will never be attracted to you."
Sarah stood up too. She was about to curse William again, but she endured it with all her might.
So, William agreed to marry?
Sarah can see her future life with William. Instead of being happy, maybe she would feel imprisoned if she married William.
"I don't want to marry you! Do not be too confident!" she shouted. However, William did not care. He had disappeared from Sarah's sight.
