Stories of rank-5 beings destroying entire kingdoms, overturning the world's economy, fighting divine beasts, and challenging entire armies alone are prevalent.
It leaves one to wonder, "how could there possibly be anything beyond rank-5?"
Well, that information is outdated. Back when humanity was less developed, rank-5 was indeed the peak. The influence a rank-5 existence had now was far less. Every kingdom, besides Alaric's own, would have at least 10 rank-5 generals.
'But a group of bandits? Impossible. At rank-5, at least in the Kingdom of Neuling, you can get away with any crime you want while holding a government position. Why become a bandit? This basically confirms the kingdom's involvement...' Alaric thought.
