These were the new recruits that Mike had brought into the army. The one shouting at, and questioning them was Alaric.
The new recruits had only just joined. Immediately, they were forced into a set of heavy armor. They would wear this armor during their day-to-day lives. This was how Alaric's military built strength and forced them into using their unused muscles.
Other than that, Alaric introduced some modern training methods into the world as well. Such as crossing bodies of water with heavy baggage and obstacle courses. Mike originally questioned such things, but After Alaric introduced him to the art of guerilla warfare, that changed.
After all, dishonorable acts during war simply didn't exist at this time.
But, Alaric didn't care. He would need to use guerilla warfare in order to pull off a miracle and defeat the Kingdom of Neuling.
