Gavin, the guy who ran into Kendra in the early hours of the morning, laid on the bed with one of his hand under his head. He had short blonde hair, pointed nose, small eyes and lips, very tall and with a slim body. The blue shirt he wore were slightly tight, showing off his great body and six packs.
He smirked as he remembers the lady he ran into, his eyes were mesmerized by her round face which surprises him as he had always been a bully to fat people, especially girls. He turned on his side. Feeling the need to see her again, he stood up, picked his phone which was lying beside him and left the room. He strolled to the receptionist.
"Hello, I'm looking for a lady" he said in a low voice.
The receptionist who was busy with sorting orders mumbled in a low and tired voice, "Who is she?"
"Actually, I think she's a worker here. She was dressed as a hotel hostess"
"Mister, we have a lot of hostel hostess here and even if you describe her, I might not be able to help. Is anything the problem?" she asked, making an eye contact with Gavin.
"No, it's nothing. Thanks for your help" he said and went back to his room with a heavy heart.
"Will I ever be able to see her again?" he thought as he walked by the hallway leading to his room.
Camellia looked back and Edgar stood at the kitchen entrance wearing an apron, beads of sweats formed on his forehead.
Edgar Bridger happens to be of a tall height, dark skinned with brown eyes and black hair. His small innocent eyes and lips could charm any girl expect for Camellia, she had never been in love with him, even when a lot of girls was crushing on him in college.
"How was your day at work? I hope it wasn't stressful" his sweet bit deep voice said again but Camellia took turns looking at him and Kendra.
"What is he doing here?" camellia finally broke the silence, pointing at Edgar and looking at Kendra as if she's seeing a mentally disordered person.
"What do you mean by that? Don't you recognize Edgar? Stop giving me that look, girl" Kendra said and took her seat beside her.
Edgar, not wanting to provoke Camellia any further, went back to the kitchen and finished what he was preparing. He took off the apron, hang it on the wall and went back to the living room but met Kendra only. Kendra looked back as she noticed his presence and saw him pick up his phone and wallet.
"What's wrong? Aren't you joining us for dinner?"
"I'm sorry, I have something urgent to attend to. I totally forgot"
Kendra stood up, went closer to him and stare at his eyes but Edgar tried to avoid the eye contact
"You have something to attend to or you're leaving because of the way she reacted to you? Look here, Edgar, a lady's heart is not won by staying away but by staying closer even when she wants you to be far away"
"I've tried all my possible, Kendra and you know it. I don't think she'll ever feel anything for me" he said, his teary gaze fixed on the ground.
"Come eat with us and sleep over. I'll work something out for you two before dawn" Kendra said, lifting his head high.
"Are you sure? I'd be glad, thanks for your help" he said with his eyes glowing and holding Kendra's hand.
Kendra went to the room, she found Camellia seated on the edge of the bed, fiddling with her phone. Kendra drew the stool in front of the mirror closer to the bed and sat on it.
"What is it you want to say? If it's about Edgar, please, let me be" Camellia said, still busy with her phone and not looking up at Kendra who was just staring at her.
Camellia expected Ken to reply her but she didn't so she looked up at her, "Aren't you here to say something?"
"You know that and you're fiddling with your phone? Look here, Camellia, I honestly wish I could be like you, having men drool over you is something every lady wishes for and Edgar had been the only one who stayed all these years because his love for you is genuine"
"But you know I don't love this guy" Camellia said as she drops her phone gently on the bed
"Why don't you love him?"
"He's not the type of man I want for myself"
"Please, just give him a chance. Learn to love him! I can feel his pain"
"It's fine! Enough of the sermon. I'll give him a chance, just for your sake" Camellia said, winking at her.
Kendra stood from the stool and hugged her, mumbling, "Thank you"
They both went back to the dinning, Edgar had already set the table and was waiting for their arrival. As soon as he saw Camellia coming, he stood up and pulled out a chair for her.
"Thank you" she said with a smile which seem to be fake.
They all ate dinner together and gisted at old funny times which filled the air with loud laughter. Kendra offered to sleep on the couch while Edgar and Camellia sleep in the room.
"What? We.....we're going to be spending the night together?" Camellia asked pointing at Edgar.
"It's fine, Kendra. I'll sleep on the couch" he said adjusting his wavy hair.
Kendra was able to persuade them to sleep together and they went in while she unplugged her phone form the socket and went back to sit on the couch with the remote on her other hand.
Her phone beeped as a message dropped, it was a message from her mom. She rolled her eyes as she opened the message and it reads: I'd have called you but I know you won't even pick up so I'm texting. It's been a while I spent time with you, baby. Please, let's meet over the weekend, I'll be expecting your response.
She dropped the phone on a small table beside and, laid down and covered herself to sleep.
