Chapter 33 - Chapter 32

Book I Chapter 32

Days pass by and Il Kwan observes as Wu Jin would actually annoys those two and would spar with them in secret.

He knew that the two has already caught up to what is really happening right now.

The battle between the three of them is real and no one is holding back.

He could only think that his childhood friend is actually hiding that he is a cultivator. He is just pretending to be a mortal.

As the days go by, those two who are sparring with his best friend have actually improved by leaps and bounds, especially with their fighting techniques.

They began to improve their reaction speed, their battle prowess, and their techniques.

How could they not improve when they would always get hit by that damnable firewood?

So they did their best in practice and study as they did not want to get humiliated by that punk.

The secret sparring sessions are already scheduled every other day at around 4 pm.

Every time the two would get there, they would see that familiar petite figure sitting casually atop a tree while munching on some fruits.

That scene is already familiar to them.

But today seems a bit different as there are other two disciples with them.

Hyuna could recognize those two disciples. One of them is the other bully that ran away and the other one is the one that they were bullying at that time.

Looking at the four disciples before her, she could not help but frown.

"What is this?" she asked.

The two showed a hint of reluctance in their expressions.

"We… We know that you have been treating us as your sparring partner. So we decided to test out your real capacity…" one of them said.

Hyuna showed a faint smile on her face.

Ever since sparring with the two, she has now gained a bit of experience. If she will have a chance to fight with the cultivator who attacked the Man family at that time she knew that she would be able to defeat that person without too much effort.

Well, this is because of her rune maker level increasing plus her fighting experience growing.

Looking at the four people, she showed a slight smile on her face.

"This time, I will not be playing with you guys…" she said as she jumps down the tree.

Before her feet could touch the ground, the four have already made their move and lunges a pincer attack at her.

Swoosh!!!

The fast movement of her four enemies should have made her flustered, but Hyuna has already trained her mind to be calm in such situations.

The first attack came from below but she calmly tilted her body and let the raging fist pass by her.

She then suddenly grabs that arm, and using her body, she twisted it following the direction of that guy's momentum.

That guy was stunned and feeling slight pain, he was pushed to the ground and pinned in one move.

His companions follow up and kick her head, but Hyuna quickly tilted her head to the side and lets the feet brush off her shoulder.

She did not hesitate to twist that man's arm.

Crack!!!

The guy shouted in pain as he rolled on the ground.

The three were startled by her vicious move and quickly attacked her without restraint.

Swoosh!!! Swoosh!!!

Two kicks and a punch were sent in her direction. But she easily dodges them as if they were nothing.

Soon, the battle between the five became chaotic and one by one the four people fell to the ground.

Hyuna tried to catch her breath but a wide smile could be seen on her face.

She walked to the four and realigned their bones which made the four people feel a bit embarrassed.

"You guys should practice more on your close-range defense…" she said as she dusted her robe and walks away.

The four disciples look at each other and laughed.

"Senior Song Dong, Senior Kil Nam… I thought you said that this person would not hurt us. He is more terrifying than the outer sect instructors…" the one who was bullied before grumbled while massaging his shoulders.

"Shut up you wimp… You should be glad that we brought you here. Did you not see that he suddenly turned serious this time?" Kil Nam glared at that person.

"We might have suffered this time but I have learned something." Song Dong said with a grin.

"What do you mean?"

"Close-quarters combat…" Song Dong muttered.

"Though it might have hurt a bit, I was still able to memorize those moves that he made… Hehehe…" he added with a wide grin.

"What is the significance of that in a cultivator's battle?"

"Stupid…! That is why you are always in the last…" Kil Nam scolded as he hit the bullied guy.

"In a life and death battle, those moves are very crucial and could be a lifesaver…" he added with a grin as he too recognizes the profundity of those moves.

"Let's go back and heal our internal injuries…" Song Dong said as he led the group out of the small forest.

Il Kwan walked out of the tree and showed a complicated expression on his face.

He did not know, he truly did not know the extent of the ability of this junior brother.

"Is he already this strong as a mortal?" he muttered as disbelief is still in his eyes.

While looking at the scene of the scuffle before him, Il Kwan has that complicated feeling deep in his heart. Those guys might look weak in that battle, but he knew that they are strong if they truly fight a mortal.

It is not that those guys are weak… it is just that his junior brother is far too strong.

"Is he hiding something from me?" he thought as he walks down the path toward the old courtyard.

Before entering, his footsteps froze as a memory enters his mind.

A week later…

Hyuna has already spared with the four guys and they would always suffer beatings. Sometimes she would let herself be hit, but those guys are truly… weak.

She now wanted someone in the spirit refining realm to spar with. But she knew that she could not find just anyone as those senior brothers of hers would not dare to spar with her for fear of injuring her.

"Should I just help those four advances?" she thought as she muses on this predicament.

Hyuna suddenly laid out a plan and then decided to work on it.

While this is happening, outside of the sect an anomaly is currently taking place.

Three Outer Sect disciples in the spirit-refining realm are currently running for their lives.

Behind them, their senior who is at the Meridian refining realm was left behind while trying to face a 3-meter tall wolf with bright yellow flames resembling its fur.

The wolf looks imposing and has already broken the spirit artifact of that senior of theirs.

"We… we should help senior…" one of them suggested while running.

"Are you crazy? You would only be a hindrance… Did you see that senior was at a disadvantage because of us?" the other one said.

"Damn it!"

The three disciples helplessly continue running toward the sect to report the anomaly.

Arrgghh!!!

They suddenly heard a painful cry which made them feel helpless.

"The exit is there, we should hurry up!" shouted one of them as the three hurriedly ran.

Swoosh!!!

Suddenly a shadow passes by them and before they could react, they noticed their companion suddenly disappear.

"Shit! This is an ambush!"

The remaining two became flustered but they did not stop running. They did not have any weapons to use anymore and could only escape.

Suddenly from atop a tree another shadow appears and one of the two was taken.

The remaining outer sect cultivator is now panicking and stops running.

He has decided to make his stand in this place. It would be better that he dies fighting than running away, is what he thought.

As he prepares to make a stand, he takes out his last remaining weapon, which is a small dagger, and went into a defensive stance.

He looks around and waited for the enemy.

"Come out! I am not afraid of you!" he shouted in anger and anxiousness.

He knew that no matter what he should be able to deal at least some damage to the enemy.

The sect would just avenge their demise in this place.

"Hihi… What a determined brat…" an eerie voice broke the outer sect disciple's thought.

The voice seems to come from the shadows and the fear it causes has crept down the spine of that disciple.

He could help but look around him and showed a serious expression.

"Who are you? How dare you harm the disciples of the Urokai Sect!" he shouted trying to intimidate his enemy.

But no one answered as his voice just echoed through the darkness of the forest.

After waiting for a few minutes, the silence of the forest has already spooked the disciple who is now covered in a cold sweat.

Hiss…

The sound startled him and quickly turns his attention toward the direction of that hissing sound.

By his side a few distances away from behind the trees, he saw a large head of a snake hiding within the shadows. Its huge serpent eyes are directly looking at him making him freeze on the spot with fear creeping down his spine.

With one look at that creature, the young disciple knew that he already has no way of living.

Unknown to the sect, this turmoil has already caused them a few of their promising Outer Sect disciples.

And in the midst of this, all stood the shadow of a person standing atop a tree while looking at a certain mountain peak.

"Hehe… Urokai Sect… This lord has finally returned… tremble before my wrath!"
