Dan
I was so mad at Alex for treating Carl that way. So what if she's his sister. It still isn't right. I got to their house and banged loudly on the door. I wanted to see her and talk sense in her head. I banged loudly but didn't get a response. I opened the door and saw Alex kissing Joy.
"What in the world?"
"What are you doing here?"
"You guys are having an affair?"
"Like seriously?! She was cleaning my wound."
"As you can see."
I saw the first aid box on the table and the gauze in her hand before I understood.
"What are you doing here Dan?"
"I came to talk to you."
"About what?"
"Carl."
"Okay what about him?"
"He's your brother. He's actually crying his eyes out."
"So how does it affect me?"
"Alex!"
"No Joy. I don't understand how I'm the problem."
"He's your brother. He thinks you hate him"
"I don't Dan. At least I didn't lie to him. Daniel Reed"
I stood rooted in my spot and all the anger in me disappeared.
"You thought I wouldn't find out?"
"How did you know?"
"I'm not dumb like Carl. I know what goes around me and also the entertainment industry"
"I'm sorry."
"Apologise to Carl not me."
"I didn't want to do that."
"You still lied to him. You knew he's hiding his sexuality from our parents. You still went ahead to lure him to date you"
"I did not. I like Carl and he feels the same for me. He's an adult who doesn't need you all the time"
"Now you've gone too far Mr Reed. Carl is an innocent soul. He doesn't know about these things. Its clearly you.'
" Joy. Look I'm really serious about my feelings for him."
"Then what of your boyfriend and co star Collins?"
"We broke up before I even met Carl. He means nothing to me"
"Well the whole world doesn't know that. What's stopping you?"
"Its nothing"
"Get out of here and if you see Carl tell him I love him very much but I'm leaving."
"Alex we've talked about this."
"Where are you going?"
"Back to my job of course. It was nice spending time with all of you. Nice meeting you Daniel Reed."
She got up and left with Joy directly behind her. I stood rooted to my spot cause I was confused as to how they didn't tell Carl. I felt guilty for what I did to them. I was too selfish to keep him. I feel bad. I left the house and saw Collins standing beside my car.
"Collins? What are you doing here?"
"Daniel?! I can't believe it! Its been two months now"
"Shut up and answer the question."
"I live here now you dummy. What are you doing here?"
"I came to see my boyfriend."
"Who? The writer? Oh my God. The secretive writer is actually gay."
"Shut up Collins."
"Oh and he is dating the actor of the year for three years"
"Keep your mouth shut. I don't want you to say anything about this. His parents don't have to know and not anyone else."
"You idiot. Do you think I don't know? He's my friend and you just crossed the line. Does he know you?"
"He....no"
"Tsk...very much like you."
"You have to promise me that no one will know"
"I'm doing this for Carl and not you"
He also left and I sighed. His presence here only made it bad. I'm afraid I have to talk to Carl. I entered my car and drove over to Eve's place.
Carl
I sat in the hall hugging my knees with tears falling down my face. I don't know how long I've cried but I still did. I felt broken, empty and abandoned. I lost my sister,the only pillar I could lean on. I didn't mean to but it happened. I was so broken. Eve came and sat beside me trying to comfort me.
"Carl. Hey you have to be strong okay. Alex was just angry that's all"
"No she hates me. I went against her only rule, the rule was meant for me to follow. I promised Alex but I broke it."
"Its not your fault okay. You stood up for what you thought was right. You defended your love."
"Alex knows something that's why she's mad. She didn't mean to be angry at me"
"So you think your relationship with Dan is not worth fighting for?"
"No. I love Dan and I'm willing to die for him. I just want her to accept us"
"She'll come around Carl. She will I know it."
"You're just saying that cause you're starting to date her again."
"No its not like that. She's going to accept you guys or else I'll be mad"
"There's no need. She's leaving."
I turned to the direction the voice came from and saw Dan standing there and got up quickly to hug him.
"Dan. I'm sorry. I tried to make her accept us."
I said in between my tears that were now falling heavily.
"Shhhh.....calm down its not your fault okay. I went to her and tried but she said she's leaving. She's going back to her job."
I froze when he said this and I looked at him. I started shaking at the thought of it and its making scared.
"Carl are you okay?"
"Carl cutie. Is everything alright?"
"She can't go back. She mustn't"
"Why what's wrong?"
"Eve. Help me. She doesn't need to do it tell her for me"
"Calm down and talk to me. What mustn't she do?"
"Blood....."
"Carl!"
"Kill...."
"Cutie. Babe talk to us."
"She's an assassin. Stop her please. Don't let her do it Eve please"
I held Eve's hand but she left go of me in shock.
"Assassin? Alex's an assassin?"
I couldn't speak and only nodded to her question. Eve looked at me questionably and asked a question that made me shake.
"Has Alex killed anyone before?"
"Yes."
"Which family or who was here target."
"A lot of rich guys. Mostly rich guys."
"What of a family named hermenez?"
"That was her first job"
"So you're telling me Alex killed my parents?"
"Eve....those were your parents?"
"You guys are so dead"
She got up and left the room taking her car keys with her and I sat on the sofa wondering what I did.
