Daniel didn't know what to call the relationship between him and Tara. He was very sure they weren't friends ,but they weren't also dating.
"Situation ship" Jason said after he asked him the question.
"What?"
"You're in a situation ship"
"What does that even mean?"
"I don't know. I guess it's what you call people that aren't friends but aren't dating"
"Sounds like something you came up with"
"Nah, it's a word" Jason replied.
"Alright, you think I should ask her the same question?"
"No,you fool! Why the hell would you ask her that question?"
"I don't know,for clarification"
Jason took a huge breath before starting."Look Daniel,you are the man so start acting like one. If she sees that you're willing to take charge,then she would willingly follow your lead"
"Well,how I do that?"
"Simple,be a man" Jason said before ending the call."I really need to be by his side;else,he would ruin his chances" He muttered after ending the call.
"What does he mean by be a man?" Daniel muttered as he got ready for bed. Tomorrow,he had to take charge and hopefully this "situation ship" of theirs would turn into something more beautiful.
"Who knew loving someone could be so troubling" He muttered before shutting his eyes.
After Leyla and Maxim finished their nightly exercise,Maxim opted to leave,but Leyla stopped him.
"What now?" Maxim said.
"Where are you going?"
"Home"
"Why? Stay with me"
"You know I can't do that,Leyla. Your parents are coming back tomorrow. What do you think would be their reaction if they see a strange teenager sleeping with their daughter"
"I guess you're right" Leyla pouted.
"Yes,I know" Maxim smirked."I'll see you in school tomorrow" He waved before heading out.
The next day.
Tara woke with a smile on her face as the sun's rays hit her eyes.
"Wow!" She muttered as the activities of last night came rushing back."Oh my God! I can't believe I kissed him" She said bashfully.
Tara calmed herself before heading to the bathroom. She hoped Daniel wouldn't bring up the kiss.
"If he does,it's gonna be so awkward" she muttered.
Another thing surprised her. She was taking a longer time checking her outfit.
"What's wrong with me? Is it because of him?" She muttered, standing in front of the mirror."This is weird"
Daniel arrived at school an hour early in hopes of seeing Tara before class started;however, she wasn't present.
"Hey,nerd" Frank bellowed.
"What?" Daniel turned.
"You look happy today"
"Is that supposed to be a compliment or insult?"
Frank's face twisted in confusion as he struggled to know what a compliment meant."Shut up,nerd" He said,swiftly delivering a jab to Daniel's face.
"Ugh" Daniel hissed in pain as he watched the large teen walk away."I'll get all of them back" He muttered,walking to class.
"Hey" Tara waved.
"Hey,I didn't see you when you walked in" He said, smiling so she wouldn't figure out what happened.
"Yeah,but I saw what happened with you and Frank" Tara said with a sad smile.
"Shit,way to be a man" He muttered, slumping into his seat.
He needed to figure out a way to change Tara's mind. He wanted her to see that he could stand up for her ,but that proved to be better said than done. He could somehow feel that Tara liked him ,but a push was needed for the feeling of like to morph into love or even something stronger than that.
At lunch break,Daniel decided not to go to the cafeteria. He needed to think.
"Hey" Leyla said, walking into the class.
"Uhm,hi"
"Why do you always seem jittery?" Leyla said, walking towards his seat.
"Well,I'm just not used to talking to you"
"Same here,I only saw you as a nerd and someone that couldn't ever get a romantic partner"
"Wow" Daniel muttered, hurt.
"Yeah,but since you managed to pull Tara,one of the hottest girls in our class. I'm beginning to see you in another light" Leyla said truthfully.
"Thanks"
"You're welcome,but break her heart or hurt her in any way and I'll make sure your life at Maybrooks is more miserable than it ever was" She said with a small smile before leaving.
"Shit" Daniel muttered before placing his head on the desk.
Two hours later,Daniel found himself on a soft bed in a room painted blue and white.
"Is this the sick bay?" He muttered,sitting up.
"Yeah,classes are over and you can have my notes if you wish" Tara said,standing next to the door.
"No,I'm good" Daniel huffed,standing and walking out of the room.
"Uh,you're welcome" Tara said, rolling her eyes.
"Yeah,thank you Tara ,again" He said with his eyes flashing with anger as he whispered the last word.
"Wait,did I do anything wrong?" Tara asked.
"No,I'm the problem" He said, walking out of the sick bay and heading home.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" Tara called out,holding his bag.
"Shit" Daniel cursed."I didn't ask you to bring it. Just leave it where you found it" Daniel said, walking ahead.
"Why are you being so stubborn?!" Tara asked.
"I'm being stubborn?!"
"Yeah,what's gotten into you? You're acting strange"
"Why do you always have to save me?! Its supposed to be the other way round"
"It isn't a problem,Daniel"
"It is;A very big one in fact. The time I got lost,you came to save me. The time I got bullied,you stood up for me. Almost every time,you end up protecting me"
"So you're mad because I'm looking out for you"
"Yes,I'm supposed to be looking out for you"
"Is that a rule or something? It doesn't matter,Daniel. Nobody cares who saves whom,as long as we're both fine"
"Not to me at least"
"You know what? Fine,storm out if you wish 'cos I don't know what's gotten into you"
"Fine" Daniel breathed angrily as he continued walking."This isn't how this day was supposed to go" He muttered
