Julian's father headed to his room and called."One"
"Sir".A masked figure answered. He seemed to be in the room but didn't reveal himself.
"Follow Julian,I have a feeling that boy's lying to me"
"Sir".He answered and stealthily went out through the window.
Julian grinned ear to ear as he knocked on Cassandra's door.
"Who is it?"
"Julian".
The door opened to reveal Cassandra wrapped in only a loose towel.
"what are you wearing?! People can see you"
"Let them see but it's only you that can touch me". Cassandra said, dragging him in and locking her lips with his.
"Young master is getting on with a girl".The spy said under his breath as he stared at the action unfolding before him.
He felt weird watching them do their business but it was his job to carry out orders.
"This is going to be a long watch".The spy sighed.
Daniel had a problem. He stared at his phone and dropped it back every minute. He was contemplating on texting Tara.He now had her phone number ,so the next thing was to text her but he found himself chickening out.
"Daniel".He took a deep breath."It's now or never"
He grabbed his phone and texted "Hi".
"Hey".Tara replied.
He didn't expect her reply so quickly. He didn't know what to say,he had never done this before.
Tara noticed he was taking time to reply.
She smiled and typed."First time"
"How did you know?"
"It's obvious"
"Sorry".Daniel typed. He felt ashamed that he couldn't even text a girl.
"It's okay"
"what are you doing?". Tara asked after Daniel went silent.
"Sitting".Daniel typed. He was confused on why she would ask that question. Was it a frequently asked question in the world of social networking?
"You really haven't done this before"
He was about to reply when she sent him a voice message.
"Cool".Daniel marvelled. He tapped the play button and Tara's silky voice played: I'm a little busy so maybe I can teach you how to text a girl properly.Your messages are bland".Tara said, laughing at the end.
"Ok".He typed
Minutes passed but a reply didn't come forth.
"Guess she's really busy".Daniel said furiously. He strode to his desk and turned on his laptop.
He entered "How to text girls" on Google.
"Fascinating".He said when the results appeared.
Tara couldn't stop herself from laughing. He was so cute yet oblivious. He had no knowledge of the outside world or the social world.
"Gotta teach him one of these days".Tara muttered
She had to end the chat to attend to her mother.
"That bitch".Tara exclaimed as she gripped her phone tightly.
On her screen was an image of Cassandra and Julian drinking together and laughing. It came with a caption which said."Jass sounds cute😏"
"I break up with him and he runs to another girl".Tara shouted, talking to no one in particular. She proceeded to check the comments and oddly enough, people liked it.
One wrote."Jass it is"
Another."I thought Julian and Tara were getting it on".
"I prefer culian".Another person wrote.
"Bunch of idiots".Tara said, slamming her phone on the bed.She was mad even though she broke up with him.
"Guys are Stupid".Tara whimpered, trying not to give in to the searing pain in her heart. She obviously still liked him but it was obvious he didn't.
"Why does history keep repeating itself".Tara said, clutching her pillow tightly. She curled into a ball and tried to shut out the hurt.
Her phone rang, jolting her.
"Hello?"
"It's me Daniel"
"Oh,uhm Can we talk later. I'm really not in the mood"
"Okay but I've mastered it"
"What?".Tara frowned
"I've mastered the act of texting a girl"
"Oh yeah,How?"
"Google".Daniel replied excitedly
Tara facepalmed herself and tried to stifle her laughter."Okay,Tell you what. I'll be the judge of that.I give you till tomorrow to refine your skills"
"But I've already done —"
"Just do what I say".Tara said coldly and ended the call. She didn't want to scold him but she needed time for herself.
But his call had eased her mood
"Maybe not all guys are stupid".She murmured, closing her eyes.
The next day rolled around and the entire school couldn't wait for their next event:The food wars
It was scheduled in two days and students of Maybrooks college could be seen running into stores purchasing bags of flour or bottles of food colouring. This was the party of mischief.
Cassandra had called Julian again with the same excuse of needing to be satisfied and he couldn't resist the picture she sent.
They had just finished their sensual bout when Julian ,who was scrolling through Instagram, saw the post.
"You have got to be kidding me!".Julian shouted at Cassandra.
"What does this even mean?"
"Nothing".Cassandra said, looking rather pale for someone who just completed an exercise.
"You think we're dating?".Julian raked his hand through his hair."I thought you knew this better than I.This is just a fling"
Cassandra's face twisted in pain but the express didn't linger. She gripped her knuckles and put on her best smile before speaking."Of course I know.I was probably drunk when I posted that.I wouldn't be that stupid to put a name to something so casual"
Julian eyed her warily before sighing."Okay if you say so.Take down the post"
Cassandra grabbed her phone and deleted the post instantly. She couldn't bear the thought of Julian getting mad at her.
"Done".She said, dropping her phone on the bed and leaning to capture his lips.
Julian sighed and kissed her back.
"They had their first fight over what seems to be a breach in contract".The spy spoke into his recording device. He was sent here again to spy on Julian.
Julian's father only stroked his chin when the spy told him the news.
"Is that so".Julian's father said."You shall continue to watch him"
The spy sighed as he watched them lock lips.
"Another long shift"
Daniel read the article three times just to be safe.He had noted all the important points and memorized them by heart.
He was ready for Tara's quiz.
"Hey".Daniel typed
