ANGELA
I knew something was wrong with Gabriela since she started college, it was hard to tell, but between the fact I could tell something was wrong and Marcos and Carlota were on top of her like eight years ago, it made me suspect it. I would never expect Alex to meet Gabriela again if it weren't for the fact I kept in touch with Alex grandmother, Carolina, and as far as Alex was concerned, we were both informed, but what was Gabriela's we had no idea, it was something she didn't let it be seen like that anyway, let alone talked about him. If it hadn't been for the conversation she was having on the phone with Carlota and Marcos I would never have found out about Alex, at least from the three of them.
Carolina and I met shortly before Gabriela and Alex were a couple, even before they got to know each other, and we became good friends. When Alex ended his relationship with Gabriela, both Carolina and I distanced ourselves a bit, but a couple of years later she spoke to me again to tell me how the situation with Alex was and if I could help her with something. Since that time, I started paying attention when they named Alex and I started to suspect something, because Gabriela never talked about what happened between them.
The thing is, after she got off the phone with them, I decided I better go out there and play dumb about Alex. It's not that I hated the boy, because I liked him, but what he did to my granddaughter it shouldn't have done to her, that was something that was complicating his situation right now, because Gabriela is very stubborn and when something gets into her head, head, it's very difficult to remove it.
I was listening carefully to everything she was saying to me after insisting a bit on her telling me when I received a message from Carolina telling me Alex wanted to meet Gabriela again and we started to think about something until I remembered Gabriela had Alex's jacket at the which he could call to tell him, and Carolina would be in charge of convincing him to meet today.
Luckily for us, it did work and Gabriela was already gone. Of course, I was going to cover her, because if her parents found out she was going to meet Alex, they would still kill me for letting her go with Alex and her for not telling him he was in the same college as her. At that moment my phone began to ring and I knew very well it's Carolina.
"Hello Angela, it worked better than I expected." She said, and she sounded pleased, "Yes, I know, but I have information for you that may matter to you." I said. I don't regret telling Carolina what my granddaughter told me, because we were both working for the happiness of our grandchildren, and for a long time, I had suspected Gabriela continued to love that boy, and if I want something, it's happiness. of my granddaughter more than anything in this world.
"Tell me." She said "Gabriela's in love with Alex, it's only a matter of time before they get back together." I assured her "Really? That news will delight my child." She replied laughing, "Yes, but don't tell him I told you, if Gabriela finds out, she'll kill me."
"Do you think she'll tell him?" Carolina asked and I shrugged, because I don't have the slightest idea "I don't know, with Gabriela you never know." I said "I hope so, that will give Alex hope." She assured me and I nodded, because I know "Is he still believing Gabriela doesn't love him?"
"Yes, I think he even believes Gabriela loves someone else." Carolina snorted. "Who? Gabriela? Gabriela hasn't noticed anyone since Alex left her. I can almost tell you Alex is the only one she has ever loved." I insisted "Do you think?" she questioned and I nodded "Of course, she was never with anyone excluding Alex."
"Well, let's hope they have a good time this afternoon and see what happens, we'll talk at night if you like and I'll tell you what Alex tells me." Carolina replied "Okay, I'll tell you what Gabriela tells me, let's see if that way we can convince Alex it's true Gabriela loves him and it's most likely that she will forgive him at some point in the not-too-distant future."
"Talk you later Angela." My friend said goodbye "See you later Carolina." We both hung up at the same time and just then I got home. As soon as I enter, the first thing they do is ask me about Gabriela, as I thought they were going to do, but before answering, I sit in the chair and drink some water.
"Mom, where's Gabriela?" Lara asked as I sat in the chair "She went to run some errands; most likely she'll meet Marcos and Carlota later." I said as if it was really true "But she was with them all this time, or at least part of the night."
"Does that matter, Lara? She's young and has to enjoy herself instead of worrying about others all the time." I insisted "I know, I'm not saying that, but it's weird for her, I'm just saying." He replied "If it's weird or not, it doesn't matter, let her enjoy the life she deserves."
"I know. But do you know who the boy who brought her is?" she asked and inside, I laughed. If I knew? Of course, I knew, but Gabriela had asked me not to tell them anything about Alex or he was at the same college as her, because she worries about what can they do to him. What she told me would stay between her and me. Well, maybe Carolina would know too.
"No, I don't know. Why do you ask?" I asked, playing dumb. "In case you knew something. Did you notice anything unusual about her?" she inquired and I frowned, because now I didn't know what she was talking about "Something weird like what?" I questioned "Something if it was a boyfriend she has hidden or something."
"No, she told me about him. Met him at the party and they get along well." I said "The first guy she could have feelings for other than Alex." She answered with a small smile on her face, I guess hoping her daughter will be the same as she was before Alex or at least when she was with him.
"By proxy it can be." At that moment, Marcos and Carlota appear at the door and before they come in, I go to them to tell them Gabriela isn't there, but I had to come up with a good strategy so those who were inside the house listening would not find out what I told them it's a lie.
"Hi guys." I greeted them, "Hi, Angela, is Gabriela here?" Marcos asked and I denied, because if I guessed something from Carlota's face, it's she knew about Alex and she wasn't too amused "She just left."
"And do you know where she is?" Carlota asked and I denied again "No, not really, I'll her to call you. Or you can wait for her, she will come to dinner." I assured trying to find a way for them not to go looking for Gabriela "No, I don't think it's necessary, I think I know where she is. And we're going to look for her now, don't worry, Angela."
"Well, I hope so, and I hope you'll be here for dinner tonight." I said seriously, in the end, they hadn't come home for a long time and I liked having them here "If that's what you want, we'll be there, don't worry."
"Well, I'll wait for you, you better come." I replied pointing at them "Okay. See you later Angela." And with that, they left and I went back home to distract the others and stop thinking about the mysterious boy (for them) so they wouldn't ask Gabriela questions later.
