Chapter 6 - Karn (2)

Ian has already prepared a rough plan in his head, his goal was quite simple, to create a rebellion army strong enough to face the 'Crune Empire', but right now it was easier said than done.

Crune Empire, although the weakest amongst the four Empires in the continent, it is still a considered a superpower in the continent with a 'Martial Monarch' protecting it, along with multiple '8th Circle' Magician/Magic Swordsman and 'Martial Ancestors'

'If I can't even deal with this much, what right do I have to say 'I am here save the world' ' Ian thought inwardly.

His future enemies are much be more gruesome and ruthless, he can't just cover in fear right in face of some mere racist Empire.

'First and formost l'll need a figurehead for this army, people will only follow someone they strong that they depend upon, and someone I could completely trust' Ian carefully concluded.

Ian looked at the middle aged man layed asleep on his bed snoring loudly, while being completely inconsiderate about the people living around him.

Ian immediately shook his head 'I should just slap myself in the face for even considering that as an option'

Ian's gaze shifted towards the woman who seems to be completely focused on her work in the kitchen, while completely ignoring those loud snoring noise as if she was already accustomed to it.

'If only she was 10-20 years younger, she would have been the most perfect candidate.' Ian genuinely felt quite regretful about this as Keisha was already in her early 40s.

She has the most perfect personality and demeanor to be a leader but age is a big factor in here. Ian needed someone younger, so that he could unearth their maximum potential.

Ian finally gave a glance at the young child who seems to be drawing something on a blank piece of paper in the corner of the room.

Although he has already passed the age of doodling in the page, due to lack of resources, this was the best an 11 year old child could do to entertain himself.

Ian slightly squeezed his golden eyes as his obsidian black pupils turned sharp ,as if he was ready to pounce on him at any given moment.

'He is a little too young but it's fine, there's no harm in starting training a bit early, on the contrary it might be beneficial' Ian concluded.

Although Ian would have preferred someone in their late teens or early twenties, but he would have no idea about their temperament or personality or he might create another great Calamity for this continent to deal with.

Atleast here he knew exactly what he is getting into, No matter how he much he thought, he couldn't find a better candidate who matches all his requirements except for karn.

Although there might be some favourism that might have influenced his judgement, as he felt attached to this family after living with them for almost a month, despite that he still decided to take the gamble.

'But how am I supposed to approach him' Ian thought inwardly. He hasn't spoken to anyone every since he arrived in here.

Since he didn't want to spook this family off, or draw too much attention towards him, but now he has no choice but to verbalise to recruit karn for the fulfillment of his plan.

'I'll talk to him when both of us are left alone' Ian thought inwardly.

As for the residents of this house, they had absolutely no fucking clue that their newly adopted pet's grand scheme of turning them into one of the master's of this Continent.

Ian was waiting for an opportunity, but he didn't expect it to arrive the very next day, as both of karn's parents left for work as there seems to be some urgent issues in the fields they need to tend to.

Ian didn't get enough time to prepare himself , but he decided not to delay this matter any longer, as he looked at karn with curious eyes 'Now, what should my first sentence be ' Ian contemplated as various scenarios of him introducing himself appeared in his head.

Just as Ian was lost in his thoughts, a picture of a disfigured looking horse was shoved right infront of his face.

"Hey blackie look I drew your picture, how is it ? Did you like it ?" Karn appeared infront of Ian while holding an ugly looking picture with both of his hands. he apparently seemed quite proud of what he drew, being completely unaware of his lack of talent.

Ian could only roll his eyes and reply "Don't you dare draw anything in your life again . You're only wasting that piece of paper, the only use it has now is to wipe my butt." Ian took a light pause before continuing "And my name is Ian, stop calling me Blackie."

The joyful look on Karn's face immediately turned grim as he dropped the piece of paper he was holding and looked at Ian with a horrified expression on his face.

"D..D..De..Demon Demon Demon...M.....Mom... Mom..Mom...." Karn immediately scowered and ran out of the room as fast he possibly could.

"Well there goes my chance to make a good first impression" Ian slightly murmured, but this was also one of the reaction's he predicted early on, so it didn't exactly surprised him that much. Now he just had to deal with the aftermath.

After a few of moments later Karn came back in the house while draging keisha by both his hand. It was quite apparent that she seemed quite irritated as she was busy with her work in the field but after Karn's constant nagging she finally decided to give in and see for herself what's all this fuss about.

"Mom that Cat is possessed by a Demon, he was talking just a while ago." Karn complained while hiding behind Keisha, as he still seemed quite terrified about the incident that occurred a while ago.

Keisha looked at Ian with a questioning gaze, as even she couldn't believe what her son said, unless she witness it with her very own eyes.

Looking at that doubtful gaze from keisha, Ian decided to play along as he widely opened his mouth.

"Meeeooowww"

~Phack~

A sharp clasping sound resonated in the entire room, as keisha gave a tight slap right into Karn's left cheek.

"Do you think I have that much free time to play with you, can't you tell I am busy, I have to work day night long in the fields just to feed you stupid mouth." Keisha scolded Karn furiously before hurring back to complete her work.

As Karn was gently rubbing his left cheek to suppress the pain from the slap he just received. apparently the entire left side of his face felt numb.'was I really hallucinating' Karn thought inwardly, but another familiar voice immediately stopped his thought process.

"Sorry about that, but I have no intention of revealing myself yet." Ian replied while looking at karn nonchalantly.

"Y..y..you so you really can talk." Karn said a surprised tone while taking a cautious guarded stance.

"Yes, I wanted to sincerly thank you for saving me in that forest." Ian replied genuinely, and every words he just said, he actually meant it.

This genuine sincere tone helped him quite a bit as he could see karn dropping his guard a little.

"Then what the hell are you exactly." Karn questioned.

"I am just an ordinary cat who has the ability to talk." Ian replied, while being as much truthful as he possibly could.

"How the hell am I supposed to believe that, what if you plan on harming me or my famil..." Before Karn could finish his sentence Ian interrupted him.

"If I am indeed a Demon as you say, what exactly are you planning to do about it." Ian immediately threw a question at Karn.

Silence descended upon the entire room as Karn immediately felt a complete loss of words, indeed what could a son of a serf possible do to a demon who could vaporise him and his entire family with a mere flick of his fingers.

"Didn't give much of a thought I see" Ian didn't probe much longer as there was nothing much to brag over gaining an intellectual victory over a 11 year old child.

"If I was indeed what you say I was, don't you think I would have dealt with those carriage owner's right then and there." Ian even brought up his shameful past, to convince karn from dropping his guard. and it seemed to have worked exactly as he planned as he saw him completely dropping his guard down.

Ian inwardly screamed.

'VICTORY'
