Chapter 24 - A side comission pt3

C-6-367 picked up the scream that came from his side as well as the tremors that followed and leaped aside, at that very moment stone spikes rose up where he once stood.

Landing on his back C-6-367 continued the roll and made it back to his feet focusing on the man who had screamed out his name. The lapse in his rain of fire allowed the remaining men who were hidden to come out with their weapons aimed at him.

Seeing all of them now in the open he performed a quick scan finding his client hidden away in the grass behind some logs C-6-367 was sure weren't there before. "I don't care who you are?" the man who C-6-367 assumed was the leader spoke up. The glow in his eyes confirming C-6-367's suspicions of a mancer among the group.

"You killed my brother, and hence I'm going to rip that fancy armor off you and then, oh and then I'm going to make you wish you were never created." Marco's words filled in all the info C-6-367 needed, this was the famed brother the swindler was running from, which meant he was in fact the leader.

With a plan of action formed in his head, C-6-367 released fire at two boulders Marco had hurled at him before taking a step back avoiding a pincer slash from two of Marco's men who had rushed him from the sides. He spun behind one before kicking him into the other.

Before leaping into the air, once again avoiding two earth spikes, Marco had raised to hold him down. Up in the night sky with a clear view of everything below, C-6-367 dropped a few bombs which went off one after the other. The explosions took out the opposition with ease with most dying to the explosions with the few survivors being immobilized by the flying debris.

With the dust clouds created by the explosion now covering everything, C-6-367 had his vision obscured but his sensors. Told him everything about the destruction h caused down below as he fell back to the earth.

"Arrgh!" C-6-367 barely turned towards the rapidly approaching sound before he was hit by a pillar sending him flying with a grunt before crashing into a few trees. Marco who stood atop the pillar was bruised and bloodied, his red eyes fixed upon where the Gladius had fallen.

He had expected a fight, which was the reason he had brought his men along. With their numbers and his strength as a mancer he believed the would be no one he could not take down. He believed vengeance would be his, that he would prove to everyone that he was not to be messed with.

However looking down on the crater filled earth, his rage was inconsolable. His men who he had spent a considerable amount of time now laid in pieces on a blood soaked field. "A devil..." Marco grit out, if not for the earth dome he had formed at the last moment he was absolutely certain that he would be in he the same state as his men.

Focused on the form of the Gladius as he returned to his feet seemingly unharmed, Marco let out another rage filled scream as he leaped from the earth pillar he had formed with it shattering behind him into countless pieces which all flew at C-6-367 with the intent to kill.

[10% Unleashed] with the glow from his suit increasing, C-6-367 began rolling and maneuvering to avoid the literal rain of attacks that fell down on his position. Coming to a halt at a shooting position where he fired straight for Marco's head.

Marco seeing the attack flying straight for him, reached out to a few pieces of earth and yanked them before himself to serve as shield. With the power behind his attacks increased however, the shot tore through the shield and narrowly missed Marco who moved his head away.

The strike still managed to graze Marco's face leaving a burning scar across Marco's face. Although failing to kill Marco the attack managed to stop his charge causing Marco to tumble to the earth. Leaving him no time to collect himself, C-6-367 decided to rain down his own barrage of attacks.

*Thud* Slamming his fists into the earth Marco, Marco created a wall which was reduced to rubble in but a few moments. However to the shock of C-6-367, there was no one behind the wall, frozen stiff, C-6-367 stretched out his senses to pick up on every minute sound.

His heightened focus enabled C-6-367 to perform a flip just as Marco emerged from the earth with his arm coated in earth. The two locked eyes, for a moment that seemed to stretched to eternity as Marco saw the barrel of the rifle light up, the realization that this was his last moment was the last thought he had. *Bang*

With a single shot, Marco's head now spotted a charred hole between his brows.

As Marco collapsed back to the earth, C-6-367 came back down landing on to his feet, turning back to the body of Marco.
