“Sean, where are you?” Craig's head was down, and his reddened eyes were moist and fixed on his toes. His nose was red, his lips quivered, and his shaky voice was laced with grievance, making him appear more pitiful.
Craig sniffed and hiccupped loudly, revealing that the boy had been crying for a while. Faint tears hung on his face, and dry tear traces coated his face.
Upon hearing the boy’s pitiful cry, Sean’s hand gripped his hurting chest. It felt as if Sean had just been stabbed deep in his heart, making his heart exceptionally ache. At that moment, Sean wished for nothing but to go over to hug the boy and wrap the boy in a warm embrace while stroking the boy in his arms.
Unfortunately for Sean, despite all the thoughts pervading his mind, he could only pronounce the boy's name helplessly. “Craig.”
Craig sniffed back the tears that threatened to spill, and his body trembled harder. Nevertheless, he gripped his phone tighter.
