Twirling the pen in her left hand, Penelope thinks of anything but the words for her speech. King Keth has reminded her to finish the draft for her crowning. She is contemplating genuine words for the people of the Fire Kingdom. The sudden events of the dinner come into her mind.
Last week, King Keth prepared a dinner party with only Penelope and a few select Lords. The best meat dishes are on metal plates. It all was a mystery to Peonelope why they had another party right after the ball. There they gathered in the hall. Soon after serving the chocolate deserts, King Keth and Queen Ruth stand up to give a speech to those present. They asked Penelope to stand up. Penelope wipes her mouth on the napkin, dirty of chocolate dessert, and stands next to her parents.
"Our daughter will be taking over the kingdom’s crown next month," said King Keth.
Loud claps were ringing outside of Penelope’s ears. She must have heard wrong. People came over to congratulate her.
