Chapter 1 - I'll Never Become Hero

What is life?

I've been pondering this simple question only for it to lead me down a path I was never able to escape.

The horrors I went through to search for the answer to that one simple question is not something any human should live through.

With my sword, I've cut down many evils in this world.

They called me a hero.

They called me a savior.

But I know what I truly am… A MONSTER.

A MURDER

A FIEND

A PSYCHOPATH

Voices plague my mind.

The ones I've killed have come back to haunt my dreams when I'm asleep. So I don't sleep.

I want to sleep.

I want to rest.

I want to leave this life behind and never look back.

BUT I CAN'T

The pressure.

The expectations.

The people's reliance on me is so heavy sometimes it's too much to bare.

Are you listening?

Are you reading?

Are you paying attention?

I can't do this anymore.

I'm done.

I'm finished.

I'll end it once and for all.

This was the last page of Hero Silver's Diary.

This was the same day he fought and killed the Demon Lord. Sadly, the countless people he saved mourn his death.

They built a statue in his honor.

They made the day he die a national holiday so as to never forget his selfless sacrifice for them.

Thousands of years passed and they still never forget.

A Hero Academy was built.

To train the young to become strong.

To find someone who could bear the weight that HE had once carried.

To fight the ever-growing evil that still plagues the Seven Seas and Seven Lands.

The people's selfish desire for peace.

Their selfish desire to be protected.

Become chains to these youths.

They became pressured to be strong.

They become pressured to be pErFeCt~

So they graduated.

To died.

To die for a selfish desire for peace.

They can't escape.

They don't know they're trapped.

They think dying for peace is a noble death.

Their names are engraved onto the Memorial Altar.

But to become just a name.

Is that worth it?

//Marcettes Calendar, 4758Ne//

I was reborn.

Somehow.

They said I was destined to be talented.

A genius that could bring fame to the House of Taneil.

So I slack off.

I showed my disgust for martial arts.

I never took up my sword.

They shun me.

They called me garbage.

Called me worthless.

I was satisfied.

Until they wanted to get rid of me.

By sending me to some Hero Academy.

Now I hate this new life.

I'm surrounded by a bunch of brainwashed kids who think dying for peace is the new hip thing.

This place is completely twisted.

I knew as soon as I came.

The teachers.

The adults.

The training.

The system they created.

Was corrupted down to its very core.

So I stayed away.

I'll never become a hero~

I don't stand out.

I try to avoid any and everyone.

Let's see how this life unfolds from here.
