The Abyss; A creature used and controlled by The Demonic Cult.
Their form could differ from an Unorthodox Animal or even a person with many limbs.
Abyss is colored according to what kind of magic they use, for example; Fire is Red, Water is Blue, Illusion is Semi-Invsible, etc.
Their body is always surrounded by Magical Energy because the Mana Inside that is stored inside them exceeds the Creature's Mana Capacity.
The Strength of this Monster even rivals a whole Division of Blue Knight's order, a truly terrifying being to face.
Thankfully because of their small number and their tendency to appear alone, their threat could be dealt with though that always leaves a lot of casualties.
The World said that the Abyss is a Creature that is summoned from the Demon Realm using some kind of Demonic Ritual.
They're not wrong, but not right either.
Since The Demonic Cult rarely does things on their own, the information about them is very little.
The World believes that their objectives are to Resurrect The Ancient Demon Lord "Abchanchu" who was defeated by the Legendary Hero "Demetris" 1000 Years ago.
Very Little was known about Abchanchu, but The World says he's the King of All Demons considering the power he shows in the foretold legend.
The Legend describes the Demon's appearance as a 300 Meters Gigantic Octopus with Thousands of Eyes surrounding its body. Its only purposes were to rampage, kill, and consume everything in its path.
Until Legendary Hero, Demetris put an end to its reign, or so the story told.
"The Abyss... Were a creature made out of children?"
The two kids' faces become pale.
"Impossible, those kinds of creature doesn't look like children at all!"
"You're lying!"
The Brother tries to rationalize things while the Sister cries out and refuses to believe it.
"Believe whatever you want, but know this. What I'm saying was true, The Abyss is a Creature made out of Children."
"What proof do you have? and why are you telling us this?"
"If you want proof, then stay here, In tomorrow night when this 'Lady Isabell' come, you both will go through the ritual to make an Abyss out of your body."
"...How do you know all this? and Who is the Lady Isabell that they talk about?"
"I'll tell you more if you agree to join me."
"...Who are you?"
"All this time I've been figuring out how to stop the Demonic Cult from ever reviving the Ancient One. I've trained my body and magic to the fullest of my capabilities but no matter how hard I think about it, fighting the cult alone would be impossible. Thus, I need allies."
"A-allies? But we can't even use Magic."
"...She's right. Me and my sister never had any magical training before, I doubt we will have any use for you."
"Don't worry too much about it, I'll figure something out. Now I will ask you a question, will you both join me?"
"...What if we refuse?"
"Nothing."
"...You'll do nothing to us?"
"Yes, Nothing will happen. I will still get you both out of here after I defeat those guys upstairs."
"...Then."
"But are you sure 'Nothing' is fine?"
"...What do you mean?"
"If you refuse I'll do nothing. After I save you both, I'll leave you alone. Is it okay with you?"
Ethan looks at me with a cautious look.
"...You're telling us to take this opportunity?"
"Indeed, aren't you tired of living in the orphanage? Don't you want to open a new world for you?"
Ethan takes a glance at his dirty clothes before he looks at Emma.
Emma's eyes are tired, her clothes ragged, and her body lacking in nutrients.
"...If we join you, will you be able to open that new world for us?"
"Onii-chan?"
"...Emma, I'm tired of living like this. Ragged clothes, no good food, shelter that does not even protect us from the wind."
"B-but, it's too dangerous. What happens if something bad happens to Onii-chan?"
"...Finn, right? What will happen if we join you?"
I smirked.
"Do you want power, Ethan?"
I always wanted to say that line.
"...Power?"
"Yes... Power to Change what is in front of you."
"...Change what's in front of me."
Ethan takes another glance at his little sister.
"W-wait, Onii-chan? I'm fine, so you don't need to take his offer, This is dangerous!!"
"...What do you want me to do, Finn?"
"So I take you're accepting my offer."
I transform into my Shadow persona in a spectacular manner.
"Follow my lead, Ethan, Emma."
Summoning my Shadow Blade, I cut open the prison cell.
"Soon the curtain of darkness shall be unfolded within your eyes."
"...Stay behind me, Emma."
By the time we reach Upstairs, the 2 Dark robed cultists from before already waiting for us.
"How in the world?"
"To think one of you was hiding your power, pretty smart for a kid."
They both pull up a weirdly shaped dagger with a Crimson Gem attached to its handle.
Ain't gonna lie; the design's pretty sick. How do I get one?
"Good riddance, to think there will be a target practice for you both to learn immediately."
"Hmph, Target Practice? Looks like someone has to give you a lesson."
"It'll end painlessly if you don't resist, kid."
"Talk about an unoriginal attempt of intimidation, old man."
"DON'T LOOK DOWN ON ME, YOU FUCKER!!!"
One of the cultists lunges at me, aiming his dagger toward my torso. I raise my Shadow Blade and block it ease before I land a punch to his face with my left hook.
"Agh-"
"What, How could you block that?"
"Listen well, Ethan, Emma. These two right here are the Third-Pawn of the Cult, they're just a bunch of weaklings that got recruited as cannon fodder."
"YOU!!! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT!!!"
The Crimson Gem on the cultist dagger starts to glow, as Demonic Aura engulfs the cultist's body.
"BEHOLD, THE POWER OF THE ANCIENT ONE!!!"
He lunges at me once again; with more speed, more power, and more intensity.
"A Third-Pawn like them mostly cannot use Magic in their past life, making them turn to the Demonic Cult to increase their power."
The Cultist and I keep exchanging strikes. In the untrained eyes, his movement may be fast,
but in reality, there were so many flaws.
No matter how much you boost your Speed and Agility, if you don't know the proper movement and combat stances it's all meaningless.
"HOW IS IT KID, FEEL THE POWER!!!"
He starts to swing his dagger even faster, only to let his body become more open.
"Enough, This bores me."
I cut down the cultist's right hand and decapitate him in the next second. He doesn't have the chance to scream.
The other cultist starts to panic and tries to run away before I use Shadowstep to appear right behind his Shadow and pierce his Torso.
"AGH-"
"Is this the best the Demonic Cultist can do?"
Crawling out of my reach, the Cultist forces his body to stand and reach for his dagger.
"YOU FORCE ME TO DO THIS, BRAT!!!"
Stabbing his own, the Crimson Gem began to glow and the Cultist Injury starts regenerating.
His body shook in frantic movement, his eyes moving rapidly uncontrolled, and veins showing around his face. His body starts bulking up even more, with muscle that looks like they gonna explode.
His nails turn into claws, and his teeth become fang-like a beast.
"KGHHH---"
"...Imperfect-Demonification, at the end of the day you just instantly boost your physical ability with the cost of your life. How inefficient."
I read this from the book, Imperfect-Demonification cause the user lost their mind and life for the reward of a tremendous physical ability boost. It is a technique that activates upon pouring an excessive amount of Demonic Energy into one's heart.
Personally, it is way too inefficient of a technique for my taste, the Demerit far exceeded the Merit. What the hell are they thinking, to throw away throw their lives so easily, these guys are nuts.
"AAAGGGHHH!!!"
With a beastly roar, the cultist dashed at me with incredible speed. He keeps swinging and swinging his claw trying to rip me apart.
His swing speed is faster than my reaction, but since he's just swinging bluntly reading, raeding his attack pattern was so easy. The wide movement of his shoulder gave it all away. I don't need to move faster than him, I just have to move first. No matter how much power you have in your attack, if you can't hit your target it's all meaningless. His fighting style is the definition of pure Brute-Strength, but strength without Technique is just bullshit.
Don't get me wrong, it's not like I underestimate the usage of Strength. Strength is one of the most important keys to winning a fight. But, charging at your enemy abandoning every detail, even though you're stronger, faster, deadlier, it won't work if your enemy can see where you're coming from. There's no intelligence behind it, with just a bit of calculation on my part, I effortlessly dodged his attack with one-eyes closed.
"You don't even realize you're losing. Let alone demon, you're nothing but a rabid dog."
I have so many ways to kill him with my magic, but since he was fighting via Brute-Strength, I realize I have to kill him with Pure-Technique to show the difference between our abilities.
In a split second of an opening between his swings, I raise my Shadow blade and swing it toward his chest.
"AGGGHHH!!!"
The beast fall back, surprised by the amount of damage he received. His chest area was torn in two while pitch black blood poured from the wound. Though even with such a large injury, seconds later the beast immediately regenerated like he was never hurt to begin with.
This time, he lunges at me even faster, stronger, than before. In the eyes of normal people, he must've looked like he vanished, but in reality, he just increased his speed even further.
Again, I read him too. He only understands to lunge himself forward, so his upgraded speed doesn't change much.
It even works in my favor. I just need to point my Blade forward to his direction and he will jump to his own death.
That was my plan until the beast did something I did not see coming.
Inches before the beast's head got pierced, he stopped his lunges mid-air and start circling me around.
"Hooh, quite a nice instinct you have there. If only you were late for just a split second, your head would have split in two."
Still circling me with his tremendous speed, he's ready to attack from every different angle, looking for the body part that is the easiest to rip.
"Do you know? When a wild dog hunts, they always aim at the target's neck."
I purposely let my back open, and sure enough, the beast immediately charges in and swing his claw aiming at my neck.
"Still a rabid dog."
*SWING*
The beast's arm got chopped off.
"AGGGHHH!!!"
"How noisy. Time to end this."
The beast trying to retreat to let himself regenerate. Fool, you're already within my reach.
As the beast steps back, I accelerate and keep slashing the beast. Though my swing is not as fast as the beast, with just one arm attached, the beast could not keep up with it. Dozens of slashes injured the beast by every second's passed.
*SWING*
"AGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"
Thus, Another arm was gone. As a last resort, the beast tries to lunge at me with all his might in trying to bite off my neck.
*SWING*
Both of the beast's legs are now chopped off, as his body starts falling, I decapitate him mid-air with a swift swing.
...
The beast lay dead on the floor, showered in blood, missing every part of his limb.
