Arc 1: The Meeting - Chapter 19

Dinner was fine, which was nice and better than I expected. I expected it would be awkward; maybe a random salesperson would appear that require me to deal with them—none of that.

Yor giggles every time I call the monster a salesperson.

Anyway, Yor praised my cooking skills, which we both know it's due to my cheats and Perfect Timing that made it happen.

I bet most of you crazy voices wonder what happens after that. Hate to break it to you guys, but Nyarla wasn't ready for a threesome when Yor asked.

So it was just similar to the beginning. Getting blue balled, but with two beautiful girls arguing over me. However, I take no pride in this for more than one reason. Not when said beautiful girls can rip me to shred, physically and/or mentally.

Moving on, I decided to take the risk of using Zetsu the entire night with the Delayed Effect's help to ensure I'm well rested in the morning and remove all the negative influences via Lion's Heart.

Oh yeah, remember how Nyarla changed without caring if I'm nearby? I think it's a family thing because Yor changed without caring. I'm watching her, letting me see her bare naked for a long minute. Something I'm betting she did on purpose before putting on her daily outfit.

Yup, I'm both blessed and cursed.

"So, what are we going to do today, Nyarla?" Yor asked Nyarla, but she looked at me when asking that question.

Hey, don't look at me. I have no says in where we're going on. All I know is that the Boss demands Nyarla to go outside every day for a couple of hours. Other than that, anything is an option.

Speaking of which, Nyarla's original ego fell asleep again, something I wasn't expecting since she had just recently woken up. So it wasn't that long, but I guess she wasn't fully awakened.

Their whole relationship became opposite. Seeing how Nyarla is hugging Yor in pure joy and continues talking about the stuff she has done during her absence. Overall, this Nyarla has a better relationship with Yor.

Now, I wonder if Yor has the same thing as Nyarla, going to sleep and having an alter ego.

"I do." Yor replied to my thoughts. "You should already know my alter ego's personality going by the canon timeline. Just without the whole fake marriage thing and having an adoptive daughter."

"Please tell me she isn't into cooking? Is her cooking skills like the beginning?" I finally talk to Yor with my mouth instead of thoughts. That's how badly I need to ask now because I recall canon Yor's cooking skills. She can only make her late mother's southern stew after Camilla gives her several cooking lessons and helps her recreate it.

But, other than that, her food is terrifying that could cause a good man to be sent to the toilet for an entire day. While the canon Yor's little brother is the only one to withstand canon Yor's cooking. He violently throws up between bites and even recalls seeing his life flash before his eyes. Despite this, he grew up with no significant health issues, other than maybe making him strong through surviving so many death experiences via cooked meals made by canon Yor.

"I think she... decent." Yor's eyes look away from me.

Hey! Look me in the eyes when you say that! I don't care about you being an eldritch god or whatever; you better tell me damn straight if your alter ego is bad at cooking! Food is extremely important to me!

"Come on, Nyarla. Time for us to visit a random world to have fun." Yor leads Nyarla to the door out of the apartment, completely ignoring my demands to know if I have to fight off Yor's alter/canon ego from cooking or prepare for going full blast of Zetsu to speed up my recovery in the aftermath of trying the cooking made by Yor's alter/canon ego.

Damn it, Yor! If you're not going to tell me, then kill me, at least!

"You're overdramatic here." Yor rolls her eyes at me.

Fuck you! I'm willing to die through all kinds of horrors, but I will not die from badly cooked meals!

I speed walk out of the apartment with Nyarla and Yor continuing to walk without closing the door behind them. Something I had to do instead. Being the last one to leave would make the responsibility of closing the door fall on me.

Right away, I spread out my En as I continue to follow after Nyarla and Yor. Not having to worry about any horny guys, some girls, trying their luck with them. As it seems, Yor is making sure we won't get disturbed. But after Yor also go to sleep, then I'll have to resume my duty of making all the horny people stay away.

Wow, unlike Nyarla. Yor had made it, so everyone ignored us completely instead of preventing them from coming near us.

"By the way, our alter egos can hear, see, and feel what's going on while we're in control." Yor said to me, causing me to pause for a moment to comprehend this.

Please tell me your alter ego isn't going to stab me for saying her cooking is bad.

"She won't; she just vows to prove you wrong by making the most delicious food you'll ever have in your life." Yor replied to my thoughts.

Well, crap. That is not good at all. Not one bit.

Scouting the place and it looks like the world isn't that dangerous if one doesn't let their guard down.

Did you pick this world, or was it Nyarla?

"Of course, it was Nyarla. After all, we're following her lead." Yor smiled at Nyarla, who smiled back.

"Hey, are you guys having a private conversation without me?" Nyarla begins to pout, causing Yor to giggle as she pinches Nyarla's cheek. This made Nyarla whine in pain.

"Silly, if you still can't read other people's minds, keep practicing." Yor tease Nyarla, hinting that even though this is the alter ego Nyarla, that doesn't mean she doesn't have access to her original ego's powers. "Anyway, Jin, here is curious where you're taking us."

I look at Yor, speechless.

"Oh." Nyarla looks at me, making me feel like she has forgotten about me since Yor appeared. "We're out to eat and have fun." Her smile seems brighter than the one she shows me in the past.

A quick check of Perfect Timing, no need for me to do anything.

"You're different. You know that?" Yor stares at me with interest.

"Isn't he?! He is my best friend and has been taking care of me." Nyarla said proudly as if Yor was praising her.

"That's good to hear. I'm glad you had someone to spend time with while I was gone." Yor said gently, giving me a thumbs up without letting Nyarla see it.

"Oh, let's eat here!" Nyarla grabbed my hand and Yor, dragging us into a restaurant that caught her attention.

So anything I need to be concerned about while you're here, Yor? Any rules I need to know if I accidentally break them without knowing them?

I pull out the small purple book. I open to the first page, pause for a moment, then let out a tired sigh.

I ignore the looks I'm getting from Nyarla and Yor as they order their food. I just ask for a simple meal and a glass of water.

Afterward, I continue reading the new message I've just got from the Boss. Also, it looks like this small purple book is one of the ways for the Boss to contact me, but I have no way of doing the same unless I have one of my cheats that could do so or future cheats I haven't gotten to yet to help me message the Boss.

The Boss informs me that I am also to take care of Yor. Fuck. And in doing so, my salary has been raised. Instead of cheats, I get godlike items in many forms, be it weapons to everyday household items that on godlike features that make things easier.

Instead of obtaining these godlike items through something like the glowing books. I can pick one out of the random set of options in the book to pick, and it will reset per day. So I might not get the same godlike items with each pick. Some even are weaker than others.

I flip to the page where I can pick my godlike item of today, then do a quick count to see that I have three godlike items to pick from.

Option 1: One Holy Spear

Option 2: Infinite Refill Mug

Option 3: One Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan

And, of course, they don't have any description to tell me what exactly they are. Of course, the names should be enough to tell me what they are and give a rough idea of what they can do.

For example, option 3 is for sure from the Naruto series. But what does the One attach behind it? One what? One eyeball? One ability? I have no idea what to expect. Option 2 I don't even need to understand to know what I would expect from picking this one.

Option 1 itself, I'm not too sure about it, but like option 3, what is with the One part? However, it should be a holy spear from some religions and must be powerful enough for the Boss to take an interest in the past before giving me a chance to take it.

"Hey, Jin. The food here." Yor breaks me out of my inner monologue. "You can pick after we are done eating."

"Right." I put away the small purple book. I begin eating and take my time doing so. After all, the day is still long, and I got plenty of time to think about this over.

"So, how's life since you took the caretaker role?" Yor asks me, mostly a random topic, to pass the time while eating.

Don't you already know how I feel going through my memory?

"I didn't do a full search and just bits of things that I know of. Also, I'm asking because we will be spending our time together for a long time. So we may as well get to know each other more. Right, Nyarla?" Yor takes a bite of her food.

"Right." Nyarla nods, not paying attention to what's going on as she devours her food.

"Well, it's almost a week since I've become Nyarla's caretaker and starting today of becoming your caretaker. Overall, it could be worse." I shrug my shoulders.

"Wait, my caretaker?" Yor frown, no longer smile. "Explain."

I thought you were reading my mind at the time while I was reading the small purple book.

"I'm not going to read your mind all the time." Yor replied.

"Oh, well, here. This should explain it." I take out the small purple book and hand it to Yor to read the first page.

I watch Yor read the first page. Then suddenly, she begins flipping to the next page and the next.

I guess the Boss is talking to Yor now. I wonder what the Boss is telling Yor. Well, I'm not suicidal enough to use Invasion on Yor to satisfy my curiosity. It's fine for me not to know. I got other priorities to focus on than trying to know something I'm not supposed to know of unless told otherwise.
