"What? What happened?" Lilly wobbled and teetered, fighting to keep her balance even as her knees nearly buckled beneath her. Her gaze met Ye Kai's and at that moment she felt something wet near her nose. She was suddenly aware of the salty taste of blood on her lips as she lifted a trembling hand to touch it.
"What? Blood... I'm bleeding from my nose... my face... face," Lilly nervously pulled a small, hand-held mirror from her pocket and took a step back. Her eyes were red-rimmed, and streaks of dried blood ran down both sides of her nose. She gasped and quickly wiped away the tears that had started to form.
She froze there when she saw her face and Ye Kai use the opportunity to attack her again. Out of the corner of her eye, Lilly saw Ye Kai lunge at her with a menacing fist, but she managed to instinctively duck and dodge his attack just in time.
