Chapter 15 - Chapter 15 - First Class

"What classes are you taking Leo?"

"Probably swordsmanship, body training, and real combat."

"Then I should-"

"You should do what matches your talent."

"It'll be useful for you to know how to use any weapon in the future after all."

"You're right..."

"I'll do swordsmanship, specialized talent, and real combat..."

"You're not interested in any of the non-combat classes?"

"I want... to be strong too..."

"I see."

I got up and gave my paper to the teacher. I was the first one, it looked like everyone else was still debating so some of my classmates were shocked.

"You've already decided, Vondheart?"

Was he going to call us all by our last names? What happens when he needs to call Rio? Ah, well, whatever he'll figure it out.

"Yes."

"Alright, you can go sit down."

After I went back to my seat, Rio got up and gave him his paper as well.

"You as well, Second Vondheart?"

That's how he's doing it? Would it not be 100 times faster just to say our first name?

"Yes. I've decided."

"Okay... You can go sit as well."

After a few more minutes the next person turned in their paper and soon everyone had turned it in.

"Alright, now that everyone's done, follow me."

"Huh?"

"What?"

"We're moving already?"

Some of the others said.

We all got up and followed behind him, on the way there, some students talked to each other.

Kazu had come up to me and Rio.

"You guys really chose fast! What classes did you guys choose?"

"Swordsmanship, Body training, and Real Combat."

"You're going for all combat classes?"

"For now."

"What about you Rio?"

"Swordsmanship, Real Combat, and Specialized Talent."

"Your talent is weapon-related right? You're also going for all combat classes?"

"Yeah... Haha"

"How about you?"

"I went for Swordsmanship, CQC, and Cooking. Haha"

"You want to become a cook?"

"No, no, no. I just thought it'd be nice to be able to cook good food for my friends!"

"How benevolent of you."

"Haha, thanks."

"But what does benevolent mean?"

"Oh, we're here."

The teacher had led us to the gymnasium. It was very big and spacious. Inside there were some training dummies, training equipment, and some bleachers.

"Everyone take a seat."

We all obliged.

"Now get up and run."

"What?"

"Huh?"

Everyone was confused before a student spoke up

"Uhm, Teacher? What do you mean by that?"

"I mean, get up and start running around the gym."

"Now."

Everyone got up and started to run.

Why did he make us sit in the first place then? Is he a troll?

"How long do we have to run?" One student asked

"Until I say stop."

We had kept running laps around the gym, some students had run out of breath not even half-way around the whole gym. He had told the students who couldn't run anymore to stop. Eventually, there were only a few of us left running.

Rio and I were one of them. But we eventually couldn't go any longer, we both could only run for about 20 minutes straight. We were told to stop.

There were still 3 people left running. Ally Ashton, Ellen Mercer, and Taku Frostborn. Soon both Taku and Ellen stopped though and then there was only Ally left.

I had no idea who Ally, or Ellen was, I didn't remember writing about them. Though I do remember writing about Taku. He was the duke's son. He was practically a genius, he was hardworking, and good at the sword. Coincidently his sister, Ayaka was here too. She was a genius with ice magic.

They played quite a huge role in the novel later.

Soon after Ally stopped running.

"Um... Teacher? Why did we have to run?"

"The first class today was P.E."

"I was also checking your conditions."

"Alright let's go back."

He took us back to the air-conditioned classroom.

"Oh my god... This feels like heaven." Kazu said

We were able to rest while Ally was still running so I didn't feel like complete shit. Though, our other classmates' conditions seemed to differ. Many of them were exhausted.

He went straight into teaching the next class, History.

Next came math, meditation, and then finally geography.

These classes were about an hour each.

"That'll be all for today, this was a temporary schedule, and everyone will have a different schedule tomorrow."

He left the room.

"Haah." I yawned

"Are you tired?"

"Very... That was boring."

"But we learned a lot though!"

Rio smiled

"Yeah. I guess."

Kazu had come up to us with 2 other people

"Hey! Leo! Rio! Do you want to join us for lunch?"

"I'll pass."

"Alright, how about you Rio?"

"I'm sorry, I'll have to refuse as well."

"That's alright! I'll see you two later!"

He left and went to invite some more students.

"You could've gone if you wanted, you know."

"Yeah... But I'd rather eat with you."

"You'll hang out with them without me though, right?"

"Yes!"

"Alright."

"Let's eat after we shower first though."

"Okay!"

After we showered, we headed to the cafeteria. The place was full to the brim, every table was packed.

"Shit."

"Should we eat somewhere else?"

Rio asked.

I looked around and saw a half-empty table with some of my classmates, it was Ayaka and Taku. Maybe it was because they were the duke's children, but people didn't want to sit with them. Maybe they were afraid of offending them.

That's how it was for the Crown Prince and Princess at least.

"No. Follow me."

We ordered our food and sat next to them.

"Sorry, everywhere else is full, we're sitting here."

They looked at me and Rio with a confused look before Taku spoke.

"We don't own the table."

"I know."

We started to eat, and they continued to mind their own business.
