Chapter 67 - Episode 67: Some things are better unsaid.

The sun set on the horizon, colouring the sky into wonderful shades of mauve and orange, like sweet blueberry ice cream mixed with strawberry syrup and tangerines jam.

Teo admired it from the back seat of the car window quietly whilst they were driving home, at his left a sleeping Jake snored softly whilst his brother sat on the passenger seat just in front of him with his camera taking pictures of the wondrous scenery as if wishing to preserve this painting for the good memories.

Angello drove them back to their place, old jazz played in the background, filling the air with a nostalgic feeling, triggering Teo who already has missed a certain someone who hasn't texted him yet. The old romantic songs got him in his feelings as he got uneasy in his seat, huddling up, hugging his legs to himself as if to fill up the space within his heart.

However, a flat voice got the two brother's attention when it came out "Don't put your feet up on the seat".

The blonde young male on the back retorted, scrunching his nose in annoyance, "Get your eyes on the road!"

The cat-like man threw a glance at him through the mirror for a brief moment just to stare at the road as he responded, "I can do both. You're going to get the seat dirty if you sit like that".

Teo clicked his tongue out at him, speaking sassily, with a sly grin dancing on his lips, "Duh! I won't 'cause I ain't wearing shoes."

The cat-like man replied, "Still. It's not safe to travel like that if something were to happen."

The young male spoke firmly, glaring at the feline man through the mirror, "If something were to happen it'd be 'cause you can't keep your eyes ahead, I'm not the one behind the wheels so I can sit as I freaking please."

Ramon interjected as he knew once they got into this push and back game the mini war would be endless, "Teo, do as he says or he won't shut up otherwise."

Teo wasn't really in the mood, one could tell he was doing this just to stop himself from overthinking, "He's sleeping soundly and you don't wake him up to sit properly."

Usually, fighting with Angello helped Teo to distress but now it was causing him to get itchy as irritation caused his body temperature to rise up.

Ramon didn't notice it as he whipped his head around to take a look at the bunny-like boy sleeping soundly on the back seat by his brother's side, "He is— he needs to rest up after what happened this morning."

Teo whined, hiding his face between his legs, sitting a bit on the side as staying in this position hurt a little, "I do too… I'm exhausted."

Ramon enquired out of concern, "How come? Did you stay up last night?"

Teo's eyes widened, trying to not sound suspicious, even though a pair of feline eyes looked at him through the mirror, which caused the blonde gritting his teeth as he spoke, staring back, "No, I didn't."

However, his brother startled him as he turned to face him, "Why were you limping? Did you get hurt?"

Teo gasped as his own body sold him out, his whole face burning up like fire, seeking for an answer within his head which couldn't build up fast enough, "I–".

Angello replied in Teo's stead, eyes on the road, avoiding Ramon's dragon-like eyes on himself, "We both know it's just Teo being Teo, he, most likely, got drunk after smelling beers and dozed off on the ground like a drunkard."

After staring at his friend Ramon focused on his brother, waiting for an answer to his question, "Didn't you sleep in bed?"

Teo didn't know what to say as his head was blank, so he just threw out the first words coming to his mind"... what he said…"

Angello grinned, turning in a curve getting closer to their neighborhood, "See! And you were worried he might've heard Jack and–"

Ramon's voice was low and threatening as he objected, "Hush! Eyes on the road."

Teo pondered what they meant, barely coming out of his stupor, "Hearing what? Was there something I should know?"

Ramon glared at Angello as he replied, "It's nothing, Teo. Angello, would you stop poisoning my brother's head with that sort of question?"

Angello chuckled as he turned left a couple of blocks ahead of their house. "He's an adult. I betcha he knows more than you and I do".

Ramon balled his fists, ready to punch Angello for this nonsense, yet he held back because doing it now might cause an accident so he just spoke coldly, "For your sake and his own it's better if he doesn't."

The air sneaking within the car through the gap of the window getting colder as those words swirled around them.

Upon their arrival to their house, Teo dashed in not minding if running with a sore body would worsen his situation; he just wanted to pretend he was fine so his brother wouldn't interrogate him any further.

A sleepy Jake stepped inside after the blonde with a frown and a pout taking small steps whilst Angello rubbed his arm which throbbed painfully due not only Ramon punched it once he parked the car in the garage but Jake did too when he attempted to wake him up as leaving him sleeping in the car wasn't an option, not because it was a terrible idea, the real reason was the chuckling man at his right who matched his slow steps saying he might catch a cold.

The shorter male threatened the taller as they stopped at the entrance after stepping inside the house, "Stop mocking me, nut head. Why didn't you wake him up?"

Ramon replied by digitizing the code to lock the door after closing it a bit harsher than usual, "Because I thought you'd be subtle. I didn't want to hurt him. You know I can't control my strength."

Angello narrowed his eyes as the door slammed shut because the clumsy male might break the door one of these days, "Another reason as to why my arm is swollen. I don't get paid enough to do this. I'll ask for a raise.", he announced plainly moving forward within the living room.

Ramon followed him as he was concerned for his friend's well being, he apologized in his own way, "I didn't mean it to harm you, well, I meant it, but not being so rough. You knew which would be my reaction yet you kept running your mouth."

The cat-like male sat on the couch tired for the long ride, wanting nothing else than his bed at this moment so he just babbled his thoughts, "Did you know kisses are more effective to shut someone up?"

Ramon stop on his tracks, eyes widening like plates, air stuck on his throat as if punched right in the guts.

Just then a yawning Jake walked in holding a bag in hand, throwing it at the male sitting on the sofa who barely caught it with his healthy arm.

Causing Angello to snap, yet his voice calm "What's your problem?"

Jake glared at him, speaking through gritted teeth, "It's an ice pack. Bet you know how to use one."

Angello's mouth hung open whilst Ramon shifted his shocked expression to an amused one.

The red haired spoke incredulously, "What for?"

This irked Jake not wishing to stand there any longer, not sure as to why staying in the same place than Angello felt awkward, he believe it was due he was his love rival, "Don't tell me you don't know how to use one now?", the youngest couldn't help but talk back in a sarcastic tone.

The feline man was surprised at the bunny-like dude's actions which showed care, "I do, but why would you give it to me?"

Jake shook his body, wishing the male would stop looking too much into it, "Stop asking the obvious. By the way, I'm exhausted so I'll go to bed, don't disturb me this time." With that reply he turned around to pick up his path towards the guest's room.

"G'night, Jake!" Ramon yelled to which the youngest waved at him whilst a perplexed Angello stared at the honey haired opening up the door.

"Night, hyung!" The youngest responded to Ramon, just to vanish through the door the next seconds ignoring the feline mald who frowned upon realization.

Angello muttered, moving the bag towards his swollen and burning arm, just above his elbow, "Such a brat… 'Night, hyung'..", he mimicked Jake's voice, his voice childish as he did so which earned him Ramon's attention.

The latter shook his head, seeing his friend sulking as he whinced as he pressed the bag over his arn, "You really have a problem with the kid, don't you?", a matter-of-fact tone.

The cat-like man side eyed him, his voice shifting to its serene tone again, "Regardless, you have to order take out, I won't be able to cook and I want you meters away from the stove and oven."

"I can make a sandwich"
