The guy in suit shook his head as he sighed "If I knew someone of my age would be coming for a tour of the house, I wouldn't have worn all this fancy stuff."
"Even if it was a girl?" Lucio asked as he smirked.
"Well… no, duh. Well, Gramps forced me so, I'd probably have to wear this for any situation."
"Looks like your Grandpa is grooming you well…."
"More like torture. But I'd rather do this than stay with one of my parents."
Lucio walked quietly and didn't comment nor ask about it. Soon they reached the house.
"Come on, Let me show you the place I grew up." He said excitedly
"Mhmm…." Lucio nodded and entered the house.
About half an hour later, they walked out. Lucio was very happy the environment and the house. It had a huge backyard, a big garage, five bedrooms and three bathrooms with a finished basement which had two of the bedrooms and one bathroom.
"Alright…I'll take it. What's the rent again?" Lucio asked as he made up his mind and he also didn't want to waste time on checking another one. He like this so he would buy it.
"Well… It's 3600 but I'll make it 3500 for you and I'll talk to gramps about it. When will you be moving, anyways?"
"Is it okay if I move either tomorrow or the day after?" Lucio enquired
"Yeah, sure. You just have to sign the documents and we are good to go. Let's save each other's numbers for easy communications."
"Sure."
They both shared each other's phone numbers and looked at the blank space beside "Name: ___"
"Could you tell me your name again please? I'm kinda bad at remembering names."
"Could you tell me your name again please? I'm kinda bad at remembering names."
Both of them talked simultaneously and stared at each other's faces before bursting into laughter.
"Oh god…. Here I thought you'd feel bad if I forget your name. Let me repeat myself, I'm Alex and you should call me Alex. No nicknames please."
"Don't worry. We aren't that close, my name is Lucio Tiano. You can call me …. Lucio."
They parted after a bit of "getting to know each other".
Lucio went to a nearby coffee shop and sat down. A minute or so later, a waiter arrived and asked for the order and Lucio just asked for Hot chocolate and a pastry.
While he waited for his coffee to arrive, he searched online for information about good schools in Boulder, Colorado.
He got some good information which said that the best school was Dango which had all primary, middle and high schools under their institute name. It was a semi-private institution (Government owns fifty percent of the school.)
There were a few bad reviews but most of them were positive. Lucio looked around the café to see the waiter walking over to him with his order. Lucio thanked him and turned towards a group of middle aged women who sat together.
'Looking at their attire and the way they talk, they look like co-workers…. Maybe they can help me out…'
Lucio contemplated what to do and after a minute or so, he walked up to them with a bright smile and they looked up at him when he was close enough for them to notice him.
"Hello ladies, I moved to boulder two days ago and I plan on settling here but since I'm do not know about this place, I'm facing some problems with making decisions. I just want some information and I thought you could help me out." Lucio said, trying to make a good impression.
"Sure… what do you want to know about anyway? There are a lot of things so we could talk for months and you wouldn't get the information you wanted." One of them said casually as she took a sip of her latte.
"I want to know which school is the best here."
"Hmm… isn't that your parent's job? To find which school is best and stuff." A woman with blonde hair asked.
Lucio just shook his head "My parents aren't here anymore… so I'm doing the school finding for my younger siblings."
"I'm so sorry… but isn't it hard for you to take care of your siblings? You look like you are about seventeen or eighteen."
Lucio frowned when he heard her and was about to say something when a petite lady offered him a seat beside her "Why don't you bring your stuff to our table and we can talk comfortably? You don't want to keep standing here."
"Yeah…" Lucio said as he bowed before going to get his things.
He sat down and the lady answered "Dango is quite famous but it is only good if you want your siblings to have extra talents or hobbies. If not, it's the same as other schools but costlier."
"Hmm… could you tell me more about this school please?"
"Well… my son goes there and they have a lot of extra activities and less bland learning. The way they teach is by taking the children out or by showing them live examples and stuff. Most of the students fail in maths due to this but the failure rate is just five percentage."
"Looks good…" Lucio said as he took a bite of his pastry, in thought.
"Yeah it is… If your siblings have any talents, they will be pushed to higher levels and since it's semi private, a lot of companies and agencies recruit young talents from this school."
Lucio thought for a second and decided "I guess I'll be sending them to Dango. Can you tell me about the fee structure and the timing and stuff like bulling or harassment please?"
"Well…. Yeah, I pay twenty nine thousand per annum and the timings are from 8:30am to 3:30pm but on Wednesdays, the school starts at 9:30am. The thing about bullying…. It used to be quite common a decade ago but now it's pretty safe." She replied enthusiastically
"Now that my sibling's matter is set in stone, do you know a good university here?" Lucio asked and before the petite lady could answer, a woman with an unnaturally huge bust answered him "The University of Rocks of course."
To which the Petite woman sighed "There are two universities here in Boulder. The Uni of rocks and the Dango Uni. They have their own differences and it really depends on what you want."
"I want to easily complete my bachelor's degree and roam free. Honestly, I'm just joining because I want to experience college life." Lucio said truthfully as he had not gone to college for almost fifty years and wanted to relive his life but the ladies took it differently.
"If you want a place to stay with your siblings, I know a place which is very cheap." The petite woman offered. Lucio noted that this woman was the kindest of all the women sitting with him and she also made him feel safe compared to the blonde and silicone.
"Thanks a lot, but I already have a house. It's quite big so I'm thinking of sharing it with someone who fits the requirements." Lucio said and noticed a waiter turn towards their table when he said that.
"Oh okay… I wish you the best of luck." The petite woman said.
"Yeah… I'll do my best, thanks a lot for your help, I appreciate it."
"No worries. If you want a job, you can contact me. I'll get you a good job." The petite woman offered him a card.
Lucio took the card, smiled and whispered "Thanks, but I own a company myself. Anyways, have a nice day Ladies."
He left with two of the waiters following him out, leaving the women flabbergasted.
Lucio walked out and booked a taxi when he felt a touch on his shoulder. He turned around to see two waiters standing together, he was about to ask what they wanted, when the guy spoke "We heard you talking to those women and well… since you are looking for people to share a house with, I wanted to ask if we could-"
"What's your relationship?" Lucio asked staring at them with an unreadable expression.
"Siblings."
"Can you cook and clean?"
"Yes."
"Are you good with kids?"
"Yes"
"Good. You can live with us for a week. I'll decide if you can stay after that. I will pay the rent myself but you should take care of my siblings when I'm not around and take care of the cleaning and cooking"
"Okay, Sure."
"Good." Lucio said and exchanged contact information.
Lucio extended his hand and the girl shook it before her brother could "Thanks a lot! We were barely able to pay our university fees. If onl-"
Her brother stopped her and pointed at a car that parked in front of the café
Lucio got in and told the driver his destination.
The car drove away from the café and the blonde commented with a mocking chuckle "There's no way he owns a company and still takes a taxi home…."
The ladies sitting around her nodded in agreement.
