LAST TIME:
He appeared like the pinnacle of masculine perfection as Percy raised his right hand and Crimson Sky was summoned. This time Crimson Sky took the form of not a trident but a 8 foot long red harpoon with a black chain attached to the back of it. The sky then cracked apart with dozens of lighting bolts as Zeus showed a fury and worry as the demigod before him put off an energy signature like that of a god.
Poseidon himself was in awe as he felt a sliver of danger, he gripped his trident harder as Percy slowly opened his eyes revealing two sea green whirlpools in his eyes. The very ocean before him trembled at his gaze as the water seemed to bow to him. Percy's eyes then slowly looked up at the sky as he seemed to be thinking to himself.
"Is this what you wanted me to understand, Pontus? That the sea's wrath is as vast as its size?" Percy spoke to himself in a whisper but Poseidon heard him as he suddenly had a feeling he knew nothing about Percy.
Just then Percy turned his gaze to Poseidon and in the next second shot right at him, the rocky coast he was on exploded into fragments as the ocean rushed towards the two in a massive engulfing wave.
NOW:
PERCY POV:
For the first time in this fight my mind felt clear, my mission to beat Poseidon up was the only thought in my head, The pain of my body growing my new limbs was but a distant memory in my mind. Only my wrath also seemed to turn into an overwhelming calmness as my mind focused. I reared back my arm and threw Crimson Sky in its new harpoon form as it flashed through the air like a red streak of light.
*BOOOM*
The sea shook as Poseidon managed to block the blow but was thrown back at an incredible speed deep into the dark waters. I dove in after him with a flap of my new wings as I rocketed forward into the water, the dark waters rushing towards me as they seemed to aid me the instant I met them. My body felt a rush of strength even more than I could imagine as I internally commanded them to push me forwards faster.
The water around me seemed to compress behind me as I moved and in the next moment I was shot forward at a speed I had a hard time controlling. Yet even then the water around me corrected me as if it was part of my own body and I was instantly in front of Poseidon. With a flip of my wrist and swing of my arm the harpoon at the end of the chain whipped forward and shot right at Poseidon at an incredible speed. Poseidon didn't have time to properly block as Crimson Sky's harpoon tip was poorly affected by him. A long cut instantly appeared on his arm as he seemed to grit his teeth more.
"Enough!" He roared as the ocean shook as I felt the water around me loosen from my control, a large part of it going to Poseidon's control as it pushed back against mine. I just furrowed my brows a bit, it seems even with a third of a primordial domain unlocked I still was weaker than him. I didn't give it another thought as I pushed myself faster as I slammed right into Poseidon, both my feet landed right on his trident.
"Shut the fuck up." I whispered as my wrath slipped out as I felt a massive tug at my gut. In a split second I double kicked as hard as I could and I was able to rip back a good portion of control for the water around us, it then rushed towards him and pushed him deeper and deeper into the dark sea.
"Faster." I whispered as the water began to spiral as it formed a massive vortex of pure destruction as it continued to push Poseidon into the murky depths. I just glanced at the funnel of air slowly moving downwards as an idea popped into my mind. Instantly Crimson Sky transformed into its spear form as I shot towards the vortex. The turbulent waters not even phasing me as I burst into the incredibly wide vortex as it leads deeper into the ocean.
"..." I didn't say a word as my wings kept me in the air as I focused on the spear in my hand as lightning began to course through it with renewed strength. Black lightning started to cover the spear like a second skin, at the same time the sky rumbled as I glanced up at it. It seems not only Zeus but probably dozens of gods were watching this fight. My slip of the tongue about Pontus and Order was probably also heard, it seems that whatever was to come would be a difficult situation.
"Shut up for a bit." I spat out as the thundering stopped for a second as if taken aback as lightning began to streak across it angrily as I turned my gaze back down. Just then I felt the water finally make Poseidon reach the ground as the vortex kept him pinned to the ground. I then flapped my wings as I shut up into the sky, I didn't go far as I stopped and then began to gain momentum while spinning my body as I shot dowards.
I felt my body groan and creak as it was pushed to its limit as I gritted my teeth. Finally once I reached my max I aimed Crimson Sky and threw it as hard as I could as a black and red streak of light shot down into the vortex. I didn't wait for the explosion to start as I went down after Crimson Sky. The spinning waters followed my command as they began to collapse as millions of gallons of water shot down with me. I could feel my energy rapidly depleting as I used my new domain to its max, even going as far as fighting against one of the big three who had control over water.
*BBBOOOOMMM*
A white flash lit up the bottom of the ocean as I shot down fast, a quickly forming dome of white energy rushing towards me as I forced all the water following me to smash into it. Instantly the bubble of energy was forced to condense as I felt the startling heat from inside rise up higher. Just then a glimmer of blue light appeared in the blinding light as I felt a wave of fear rush over me. I only had time to flap my wings once to send me careening to the side as a bright blue laser shot out of the dome of raw energy.
I managed to dodge it by inches as the ocean seemed to roar in rage as the water around me once again shook from my control. In a moment the dome of energy was swallowed by raging waters as it was quickly dispersed, only a massive crater on the seabed was left. I stared with wide eyes as Poseidon stood at the very bottom of it. His eyes glowing pure blue as his body sparked with blue lightning, on his body was no longer his casual wear but golden greek armor.
His face hidden behind a golden helmet as well as his trident radiated a blue glow as well. His figure simply radiated power as I felt fear rise inside me even more. It was just like when Hestia had defended me on Olympus, the power and aura he radiated was beyond anything I had faced. Even with my domain I felt scared, I then saw his left shoulder which had Crimson Sky pierced right through it as black lightning coursed through his body.
"Who... are you?" Poseidon suddenly asked me as I stared down at him as he reached up and pulled Crimson Sky free with little effort. Golden blood polluted the waters around him as the wound stopped bleeding instantly but the gap did not close just yet. Instead of saying anything I opened my hand as Crimson Sky shot back to my hand and in a split second it had transformed back into its harpoon form.
"I am Percy Jackson, son of Sally Jackson." I finally said as Posiedon gripped his trident harder as the water around him began to spiral as it suddenly began to try and pull me in. Yet the waters parted around me as Poseidon kept his eyes on me as I slowly began to swing the chain portion of the harpoon.
"Who is your godly parent?" He asked me as a tiny grin graced my lips as I suddenly felt like laughing.
"Didn't you say it yourself? I am your son, you are my godly parent. As much as it pains me to say it." I mocked as I intentionally hid information from him, however this seemed to piss him off more as he finally seemed to lose it as his body glowed a brilliant blue as he shot right at me. At the same time I pushed my body to its maximum as it poured energy into my domain, my aura burst out of me as I shot right at Poseidon.
THIRD PERSON POV:
Two streaks of light could be seen through the ocean as they moved at incredible speeds, one a pure blue color the other a sea green with mixtures of black and white in it. Each colliding with one another and then retreating as brilliant white domes of energy lit up the murky depths of the ocean. Even from the surface the flashes of light could be seen as gods from all domains watched with great focus. It was a scene like never before, a demigod was matching a god in a fight, many could already hear the legends beginning to form as they watched with interest.
For several minutes Percy and Poseidon met head on as anything in their path was turned to dust, sea life began to feel a deep fear as they tried to escape but could not. A whale shark was even torn in two by Percy as he shot right through it like it wasn't even there. Its body then shredded to chum as the explosion from the nearby collison consumed it. Percy's solemn face now had hints of anger and rage beginning to surface, his anger for his adopted father keeping him going as he continued onwards.
Wounds began to gather on the two as Percy went all out trying everything he could to injure Poseidon. Crimson Sky's harpoon form was truly something outside Poseidon's expertise as he had a hard time defending against it. The way Percy would use the chain on the harpoon to whip the weapon forward was unexpected, the energy from the whip alone was enough to boil the surrounding water as it crashed into his harpoon. Its incredible speed already reached the level of an Olympian attack.
Through it all Poseidon saw Percy losing steam fast, his body starting to even crack and bleed from certain spots. Yet through it all Percy kept going as his eyes stayed focused solely on Poseidon, the god himself however was beginning to feel anger well up in himself as Percy forced him on the defense due to his onslaught of attacks. Each time he tried to use the waters against him Percy would simply level the playing field and rip part of them back, throwing off his attempts to subdue him.
"AAAHHH!" Percy screamed as his arms swelled in power as his skin split and blood filled the ocean. A second later his wounds would heal as he suddenly used the chain part of his harpoon catching Poseidon off guard. The unprepared god tried to escape but the waters around him condensed rapidly as Percy's blood shot eyes focused on him. In a second the black chain wrapped around Poseidon rapidly, tangling him and his trident together as Percy didn't waste a second.
Percy began to spin him around as the ocean began to spin as well. Poseidon's eyes glowed dangerously blue as the ocean seemed to shake as the water control was ripped from Percy's hands once again. Two bursts of blood shot out of Percy's nose yet he didn't pause for a second, even as the water tried to constrain him, he whipped down the chain with Poseidon in it as hard as he could into an undersea mountain.
*BOOOOOM!!*
The mountain collapsed inward as Percy stopped and gasped in exhaustion as a massive cloud of debris surged outwards and filled the already dirty water. The seconds began to tick by slowly as Percy's glowing figure seemed to flicker as bit as he gritted his teeth. His body was begging him to quit as he was reaching his limits, yet even so he had his aura condense around him in a smaller form as it seemed to stabilize a bit. Just then the ocean seemed to still as Percy felt a sense of dread pass over him as he recalled Crimson Sky's chain.
He even summoned his shield as it suddenly appeared on his body, just as it did Percy hid his body behind it and even his massive wings folded around him like a massive ball as the ocean rumbled. An instant later a beam of pure white energy as wide as a football field slammed right into Percy. He was instantly thrown backwards at the tremendous force that slammed into him, thankfully he was barely able to hold the shield in front of him as it defected most of the energy but it was not enough. His shield arm broke instantly from the impact alone as the searing energy was enough to superheat the water instantly and boil it.
Percy felt the heat even through his wings as they alone felt like they would turn to ash, his skin blistered even then as he was continually thrown upwards. Finally Percy felt himself break the surface of the water as the beam dissipated, his broken and bleeding body flew through the sky. He couldn't even stop himself as his wings seemed on the verge of breaking due to the energy beam. He even went so high he broke the surface of the thunder clouds, the lightning actually stopping all around him as Percy continued to fly upwards.
Finally he hit the very top of his flight path as his body slowed as he finally pierced completely through the clouds. Percy could only stare up at the full moon with a blank mind, his body aching and broken as he seemed to finally run out of steam. Before he knew it the silver moon disappeared before his eyes as the gray storm clouds consumed his vision and he fell back down to earth. As he fell back down his wings flapped haphazardly by his sides due to the wind as the water feathers began to dissipate and fall off as they turned to mist.
This caused Percy to spin uncontrollably as he finally fell from the clouds and rapidly approached a violently churning ocean below him. Standing right below him was Poseidon himself who now stood 14 feet tall and in his full glory. His helmet was now gone as a deep cut ran across his forehead causing golden blood to trickle down his furious face. His trident glowing a dangerous white color as the air steamed violently around him.
In an instant Poseidon stabbed forward with his trident as Percy forced his body to move and his powers to activate once again. A massive tug in his gut that caused him to vomit blood, yet he continued through gritted teeth as water shot up towards him and began to form an ice ball around him. A 10 foot thick ice ball instantly formed around Percy just in time to receive Poseidon's strike, sending the ball flying across the surface of the ocean. A majority of the ball shattered instantly after it received the strike as Percy was smashed backwards with the massive chunks of ice.
Percy's head slammed hard against the ice as his mind suddenly blacked out as his body continued to skip with the rest of the ice. Several hundred feet he flew like a ragdoll as the water on his wings finally dissolved. With a responding crash and splash he finally came to a stop as he floated silently in the choppy water. His body totally limp as Poseidon slowly began to walk across the surface of the ocean toward Percy, each step he took seemed to stir the ocean even more. His mind was full of fury as he approached his... son.
"This is it?" He asked aloud as Percy's body remained still and face down as the shattered ice crashed into him, even with the water trying to heal him his body continued to bleed slowly as the water around him turned a shade of red. Percy had lost so much blood in the fight yet even now it was being replenished by his domain as it tried to do its best to keep him alive.
Seeing no response from the unconscious boy in front of him Poseidon slammed his trident down as the water moved and circled around Percy as it quickly brought him to Poseidon. The god simply grabbed him by the chest as he glared at the half lidded eyes of Percy as he lay limp on his neck. Even through all of this Poseidon could still feel Percy's heart beating widely in his chest as he gritted his teeth.
"WAKE UP!" Poseidon boomed as the air and water were forced back a hundred feet as a shockwave traveled further away. Percy suddenly jerked awake from the deafening boom as his ears even started to bleed as he screamed in pain. He tried to move but Poseidon kept a tight grip on him as Percy struggled for a bit as his eyes landed on the god in front of him.
"Did you really think you could win? Against me? The king of the sea?" Poseidon asked in a cold threatening tone as Percy just stared at him. Percy didn't say a word though as the two locked eyes for a minute, the lapping of waves were the only sound as Percy seemed to be thinking. Poseidon however seemed to grow angrier as Percy remained silent.
"Very well, let this lesson come to an end!" Poseidon boomed as he started to squeeze his hand holding Percy. Just then Percy suddenly took a deep breath as the last remaining shred of his aura suddenly converged and went down his throat.
*RROOOAARR*
Suddenly a deep roar left Percy's mouth as his eyes seemed to light up with a deep color of white. In an instant a ball of flame appeared right in front of Percy's mouth as it shrunk to a pinpoint and then burst out right at Poseidon's face. A violent cone of pure white flame instantly consumed the god's face and the sky behind him as the dark night was instantly lit up for miles. Poseidon didn't have time to react as he was thrown backwards violently as he dropped Percy. The cone of flame only continued as Percy's eyes were full of rage as his roar shook the world around him.
Every emotion he had built up for the fight was suddenly released in this as the cone began to grow and grow until it continued to push Poseidon back across the surface of the sea. Boiling water roared as even the sky parted a bit due to the heat. Soon the flame began to flicker and a few seconds later the cone in front of Percy dissipated as Percy suddenly fell from the sky and landed on a large chunk of ice that had survived the blast.
Percy fell to all fours as a gush of black blood began to flow from his scorched throat as he coughed violently as more and more burnt blood flowed out of him. With unsteady hands he tapped his necklace that his hoodie was still in the form of as a bottle of nectar appeared in his hands. He could barely unscrew the lid as he directly poured the mixture into his completely burnt mouth.
*Cough* *Cough*
Percy coughed violently as blood and nectar mixed as he tried to swallow as much as he could, though most of it fell out of his mouth as he couldn't even tell if he was swallowing as the nerves in his mouth were long gone. He then looked at the water in front of him for a full mile and remained ablaze as Poseidon was nowhere to be seen. Percy's mind was empty as he stared on at it, knowing full well the god was still okay. He began to realize how weak he still was, his domain made him powerful but took too much out of him.
Like Ananke had said his body was still too weak to handle a full domain, even in his fight he was surprised he had lasted the 30 minutes they had been fighting. His body now in shambles as he could barely move a finger, he didn't even know how long he would take to recover. Then again he didn't even know how to escape at this point, all he could do was kneel on the cool ice and wait. Suddenly something shot out of the water right at him and collided with him as it knocked the wind right out of him.
Percy fell right into the water and in an instant he felt himself being pulled quickly through the water from his arm. Percy coughed a bit as he caught his breath back quickly as he looked up at the thing pulling him ready to attack. He froze the instant he saw what he was pulling him forward as an extremely familiar silver shark tail entered his vision. The all to familiar blue dress, the obsidian black hair with silver streaks. His entire being shook as he watched a weeping Zora pulling him as fast as her little body could go.
"..." Percy opened his mouth and tried to speak but only a sour croak left his mouth as worry and fear flooded his face. He suddenly wrenched his hand from hers as Zora spun off the path as Percy came to a stop. Zora quickly twirled around and zoomed right back towards him in an instant, her speed in water was truly outstanding for her age.
"C-Come on daddy! We need to run!" Zora screamed at him in the water as she pulled at his arm as tears floated from her eyes as Percy violently shook his head. He only pushed her away as he tried to speak but a cloud of blood was the only thing that left his mouth as he coughed more. His eyes were vivid with fear as he pointed away from him and kept pushing her as Zora shook her head and kept rushing back towards him and kept pulling him along.
"NO!" Zora screamed in fear and panic as she gripped Percy as hard as she could as her tail worked overtime to pull the two of them. Her little form tired from her trip here as she panted in exhaustion as Percy felt more tears welling in his eyes. Just then he felt something lock onto him as the ocean shook. His eyes went wide as he suddenly hugged Zora as the water around them suddenly lurched and wrapped around them in a tight trip as it pulled them back.
"W-What?" Zora said in a panic as Percy felt a deep fear well up inside him as he closed his eyes and began to pray as he hugged Zora closely to himself. He prayed for anyone to help her escape this place even if it meant he was left behind. Yet he had a feeling his prayers were blocked by the dark sky above him as he felt anger well up deep inside him.
Finally the two broke the surface as Percy kept Zora in a tight hug as he felt pulled on the last reserves of his energy deep inside himself for one last move. Even if it meant ending his life he would protect Zora at all costs. His eyes now full of a deep protectiveness as he faced the king of the sea. Poseidon stood like a giant of pure anger as his face was full of fury, half of his hair was now burnt a bit and all of his hair was gone as he seemed even more intimidating than before.
He just simply stared at Percy as his emotions stormed in him, he was at a breaking point and he didn't know what to do. Percy has pushed him so much he was on the verge of taking his life, he simply wanted to crush Percy and end it. Yet something deep down inside him screamed at him as shame and guilt swallowed his heart with the rage right beside it. Percy's constant efforts did in fact have an impact on him, it had shown many things. He was a terrible fucking father, as Percy had put it. Yet the anger he felt would not dissipate as his eyes glowed dangerously as he was just about to squeeze the water ball with Percy but he stopped.
"What?" Poseidon said in a stupified voice as his anger seemed to dissipate the tiniest amount. In Percy's arms was a 5 year old child who looked up at Poseidon with true fear in her honey like eyes. A tiny silver tail sprouted from her as well as Poseidon blinked in confusion as he didn't know what was going on. Just then he saw the look in Percy's eyes as he saw a look that made his inner heart shake.
Two eyes full of determination and resilience that were ready to put their life on the line for the child in his arms. It was the look of a father protecting their child, it was the eyes of a man ready to lose everything but the one he was protecting. Even in his state of one foot in the grave he showed such eyes of determination that it froze Poseidon. The god suddenly didn't know what to do as his anger started to diminish a bit more.
"D-Don't hurt him anymore!" Suddenly the child screamed in fright and anger, tears dripping from her eyes as they merged into the surrounding water. Percy however pushed her behind him as he raised up his arms ready to attack Poseidon, his movements even causing his skin to break more as Poseidon just stared down at the two. His eyes however fell on the child as she gave a panicked look, tiny shark teeth revealed from her mouth as she tugged at Percy who remained locked on Poseidon.
"..." Poseidon remained still as he just watched Percy and his daughter as the little girl's eyes darted around as if trying to figure out how to get out the bubble. He could even feel the water in the bubble move under her command as her futile attempts to break free led to nothing.
"Child, what is your name?" Poseidon suddenly asked as Percy's eyes widened immensely as he pulled Zora behind him as she remained still and out of sight. Seeing this Poseidon frowned a bit as he felt his anger begin to build more. Just then he began to squeeze his hand a bit as the pressure inside the bubble started to increase as Percy's tiny aura began to flash out as he readied to strike.
"Tell me the child's name or-." Poseidon suddenly froze as he felt a small sliver of moonlight land on his scorched face. Slowly he raised his gaze from the two towards the sky as he saw a scene that made his eyes widened. A full moon's light had begun to fully pierce storm clouds above them as its intensity seemed to only grow. The dark clouds seemed to fight back but they were fully pushed back by the growing intensity until a now massive super moon was shining right down on Poseidon.
"Artemis you dare-." As Poseidon spoke a silver streak shot past his face faster than he could react, a deep cut appeared on the healthy side of his face as his eyes widened. He looked up at the moon as its glaring biliance was almost too much even for him. He felt a deep sense of building rage and anger from its silvery light, just then the sound of huffing animals filled the sky. In an instant 4 golden reindeer pulling a beautiful silver chariot entered his vision. The storm clouds seemed to protest this as they billowed angrily but a dozen silver streaks of light were shot into them as they quickly stopped.
On the chariot was Artemis in her full godly height of 13 feet tall and full battle mode, a full set of silver and gray studded leather armor dawned her body. A quiver full of arrows rested on her back that glowed with power, she didn't have a helmet on as her silvery yellow eyes shined in pure anger. Only a silver diadem dawned her forehead accenting her wild and adventurous beauty even more as her auburn hair remained in a tight braid.
The goddess appeared ready for the fight of her life as her godly weapon rested in her hands, it was a stunning silver bow. Its designs were simple and elegant at the same time as tiny engravings of nature and animals went from tip to tip on it. Even small depictions of children and tides were present on it as it depicted all of her domains, the bow string itself was made of pure moonlight as an arrow that was pointed right at Poseidon rested ready to be shot any second.
"I will only say this once Poseidon, let them go." Artemis said in a calm but dangerous tone as the moon shone dangerously in turn as Artemis' eyes remained trained on Poseidon. The gods faced one another in pure silence as even the golden stags remained silent.
"This does not concern you Artemis." Poseidon said as Artemis drew the arrow back further as Poseidon's eyes widened. He suddenly raised up his hand causing Percy and Zora to float closer to them as he then rested his hand on the bubble. Artemis just frowned as Poseidon stared her down.
"Your arrow is fast but not as fast as me, if you want them alive then leave!" Poseidon said angrily as Artemis scowled at the god, his anger had truly blinded him in this moment was all she could think.
"The favor you owe me! I am cashing it in right now! This fight is now over, release them and cool your head for a few days!" Artemis suddenly said as Poseidon suddenly scowled just as much as Artemis did just a moment ago. His body shook a bit as he gritted his teeth, favors were truly the pinnacle of godly trust. If he didn't do what she told him he would be saying his word is worth nothing to every god. His word would become nothing to everyone on the council and even other gods.
"Fuck!" Poseidon suddenly cursed but he kept still as Artemis focused on him as she was ready to release her arrow at any second.
"Why!? Why are you so concerned with the boy? He is just a mortal Artemis! Why does he matter so much to you to use the only favor I owe you on him!? " Poseidon suddenly asked as Artemis paused for a second as he blinked a bit. Her mind was racing a bit... Why did she care so much? As she tried to figure out why she suddenly recalled when Poseidon had given her almost two favors and even asked her to save Percy so long ago. The two scenes compared themselves in her mind as her mind stilled a bit.
"Because... he and his daughter matter to my lieutenant more than you could ever know. I will do what I must to save him whenever I can. Also... because his own father no longer seems to care about him like he did so many years ago." Artemis said as Poseidon froze as his mind seemed to go through a roller coaster of thoughts and emotions as he shook. He suddenly had a self realization as the emotions deep down in his heart exploded upwards. The ocean around him suddenly shook and then stilled as the god hung his head from sight.
"... Fine, they are yours." Poseidon suddenly said as he simply released the bubble letting Percy and Zora drop into the water as he turned around and began to sink down into the waters as he hid his face from them. Everyone watched in wonder as the king of the seas gave up without another word, in a moment the waters were now calm. Even the dark clouds began to retreat as Artemis gave a huge sigh of relief.
"A-Aunty Artemis!" Zora cried out in joy and tears of fear and happiness as she quickly pulled Percy and herself over to the chariot, Artemis smiled happily as she put away her weapon and shrunk down to her normal adult height. In a moment she pulled Zora and Percy into her chariot as Zora loudly cried. Artemis hugged the two as Zora cried in her arms as Percy found comfort in her hug, her body shook ever so slightly she took a few breaths and threw away her stress.
Unknown emotions swelled in her heart as she pushed them back as she glanced down at the sobbing Zora and the silent Percy. His face now showing great relief as he seemed to relax in her embrace. Artemis continued the hug for a bit longer until she slowly let go of them, Zora however didn't let go as and continued to cry while hugging her as Artemis gave a loving smile and petted the small child's head. They then looked at Percy who was now leaning against her chariot wall as he looked at her with thankful eyes.
"Zoe was terrified, she sent me an IM as soon as Zora disappeared. She was sobbing saying you were apparently going to fight Poseidon. I tried to find you as fast as I could but Zeus blocked me from finding you, thankfully I saw you when you broke the clouds." Artemis said in a soft voice as Percy closed his eyes and nodded. He figured as much, however seeing his calm attitude on the subject Artemis felt a tinge of anger well up in her as she shot him a glare.
"I would have slapped you into oblivion if you weren't in such a state. You are lucky I even came, I was busy! I have other duties besides babysitting you, you absolute f... buffoon." Artemis hissed at him with angry eyes in a light voice, she held off from cursing as Zora continued to cry in her arms. Percy however knew she was chastising him out of concern more than anger as he gave her the tiniest grin.
"T-Thank you." Percy managed to croak out as Artemis' face scrunched up with emotions. Just then a figure suddenly began to descend from the sky rapidly as Artemis and Percy looked up to see Hestia in her greek armor quickly descending on the chariot. Percy put on a loving smile as Hestia's eyes watered over with tears as she quickly landed on the chariot and hugged both Zora and Percy.
"By the gods, I was so worried." Hestia sobbed as Percy grunted a bit in pain as Zora began to cry even more.
"M-Mommy!" She cried as she tried to speak but her sobs got in the way. As Hestia continued to hug the two with overflowing tears, even against Percy's better wishes as his body ached in pain.
"Also I brought backup. I would have liked to see Poseidon try to fight off two goddesses in his state." Artemis said with a sigh and small grin as Percy as he held down the urge to laugh through the pain as Hestia peppered him and Zora with small kisses. Artemis just watched the trio as she suddenly felt yet another small tingle in her heart.
"Also... it seems like we have a lot to talk about when you are healed up a bit." Artemis said, glancing at the bone wings that hung limply on Percy's back. Wings like his were things only gods had, seeing him with them brought up a dozen questions. Also to have the power to fight Poseidon to such a state was another thing entirely.
"Artemis, we need to get back as fast as possible. Percy needs medical treatment." Hestia said, wiping her tears away and laying down Zora on Percy's lap. She had finally run out of steam as she had fallen asleep as she clung to Percy for dear life. Artemis just nodded as she quickly grew to her godly height and grabbed the reins of her chariot.
"Hold on tight." Artemis said as she whipped the reins and the stags jolted forward and began to speed through the sky.
LINEBREAK:
PERCY POV:
"..." I heard a voice on the edge of my consciousness as my mind slowly stirred from my slumber. My whole body numb to my senses as the voices grew louder and louder until finally I was able to make them out.
"... will survive. He just needs time, he has several broken bones and lacerated ligaments. His entire throat is charred, his energy reserves are basically gone. I am surprised he didn't cripple his pathways using energy the way he did. With his healing ability, give him a few months or so and he will be good as new, but he should remain in bed for at least 2 weeks." A familiar voice of the god of medicine entered his hearing as I began to stir more and more.
"Thank you Asclepius, we can always count on you, what can we do to repay you?" The voice of Hestia spoke as the god chuckled.
"Don't worry about it Hestia, it is my responsibility to look after my patients. Although, if you insist on repayment, I wouldn't mind a few batches of baked goods." He spoke as Hestia sighed in relief, at this point I felt my eyelids begin to move as a dim light entered my vision. Soon a familiar ceiling was presented to me, the office where we took Zora and Ryder for their checkups.
"Mmm..." I tried to speak but my throat protested as I grimaced as the voices stopped as I heard multiple sets of footsteps approaching me. My vision was soon filled with the sight of a red eyed Zoe and Hestia, I gave them a small smile as their lips quivered a bit.
"You idiot, why must you be like this.?" Zoe asked angrily as her face was filled with anger in an instant but then turned to worry as her lips began quivering as she held back sobs. Fresh tears began to spill out of her honey like eyes as I felt regret begin to build deep in my gut. Hestia remained silent though as she seemed to have multiple thoughts flowing through her mind.
I couldn't find words to say as my throat refused to work as my apologies built up inside me. I could only force my aching and tired body to move as I raised my arm up to try and hold their hands. Yet I quickly found my hand was in a full cast as I winced in pain, but seeing my action both women reached forward and grabbed my hand as I tried to comfort them the best I could.
"How long until he can talk?" Hestia suddenly asked as Asclepius looked over his notes a bit.
"A few days at most, if we spoon feed him enough nectar that is. Though I worry he will consume too much too quickly and combust if we do." He said as Hestia nodded as Zoe did the same.
"The council is demanding answers from you, we will have to wait until you can speak before you can go before them. Percy... What happened out there? Why do you have wings now? The surge of power we felt, the entire world felt? What is going on?" Hestia asked with deep concern as her questions plagued my mind, I was not too sure about my new domain. I didn't quite know how to explain it to her either. I could only try to express that I would tell her the best I could through my eyes, Hestia's cinder eyes flashed with understanding as she gave a small nod as tears began to leak from her eyes.
"Anyways let him rest for now, the council can wait a few days I am sure." Asclepius said as Hestia nodded as he quietly left the room. Soon my eyes found Zoe's still crying ones as she seemed to understand my question as she gave a faint smile.
"Zora and Ryder are fine, though Zora is still asleep. Ryder was a mess after she escaped and tried to save you. When you are better we will have to figure out a way to punish her as well, I don't think a simple grounding will suffice." Zoe said with a small chuckle trying to lighten the mood as Hestia smiled and gave a small chuckle as well as I found a small smile gracing my lips.
"She is your daughter isn't she, always getting into trouble." Suddenly a third voice joined us as I turned to see a previously unseen Artemis in her adult form leaning against the wall. A small amount of worry was present on her face as she tried to give a small grin.
"Thank you again for rescuing him." Zoe said through light tears as Artemis gave her a soft smile.
"Anything for my best friend, besides he is... a decent kid. If he died I don't think you or Hestia would ever be the same." Artemis said as Zoe gave a smile and suddenly walked over and hugged the goddess. Artemis just gave a small laugh as she hugged her back as Zoe nuzzled her head into Artemis' collar bone. After a minute Zoe seemed to calm down a bit as she sniffled a bit but then stopped as a curious air began to rise from her.
"Milady... why do you smell like booze?" She asked, pulling her head up giving her goddess a strange gaze as Artemis' eye widened and her cheeks blushed rapidly.
"N-No reason." She stuttered out but Zoe just kept a curious gaze on her. Hestia also gave a curious look as I did the same, Artemis never drank according to Zoe. Then my mind shifted to a few days ago when she and Hera were downing shots like mad... were the two of them drinking for a few days straight?
"Were you and Hera still partying before Zoe called you?" Hestia suddenly asked, coming to the same conclusion as me. Artemis just froze at her question as both women and myself grew more curious as the goddess couldn't seem to put on a straight face.
"It is fine to let loose sometimes milady, no judgment here." Zoe suddenly said with a smile as Artemis turned to her as her cheeks flushed golden even more as she tried to speak but found no words.
"I must ask though, how good of a drinking partner was Hera?" Hestia asked as Artemis finally seemed to freeze in place as steam came from her head. I just watched curiously as the goddess had an overtop reaction to the questions, maybe Artemis was just shy when it came to drinking? Before the girls could get their answers though Artemis suddenly gave a short nod to us and then started to walk away.
"I-I just remember I have something to do! Lots of council stuff to prepare for when Percy is better, see you all soon!" She said with great haste and quickly ran away dodging all the questions directed at her as she quickly exited the building and disappeared in a silver flash. This left all three of us stunned as Zoe and Hestia glanced at one another.
"Well that was... interesting." Hestia said as Zoe nodded in turn.
"Indeed, it makes me curious though. What was she hiding?" Zoe asked, throwing a glance at the way Artemis left.
"Leave her to her secrets." Hestia said as Zoe pouted a bit but nodded, she then sat down beside Hestia as the two looked over me.
"So what now?" Zoe asked in a more serious tone as Hestia gave a soft sigh.
"Percy will go before the council and explain himself. I have already talked to Artemis and she will aid me in protecting him. There is only so much that can be done though, Zeus is already wary of him and with his powers fully revealed to him there is no saying what will happen." Hestia said, shaking her head as she gave me a worrying look.
"P-Percy will be okay... right?" Zoe asked as Hestia's face darkened a bit as she gripped my wrapped hand. At the same time the air in the room seemed to stagnate a bit as the goddesses' emotions grew angry.
"The council will have to step over my burning corpse before they get to him, you, or the children." Hestia said to Zoe and me as I felt a wave of love pour from my heart as Zoe gave a loving smile, she then leaned forward and gave Hestia a kiss on the lips. The room began lightening as Hestia's mood raised a bit as Zoe pulled back.
"Thank you little flame." Zoe said in a slight loving tone as Hestia smiled in return as her cheeks flushed a bit. Zoe then suddenly leaned down and gave me a forehead kiss for a bit, I just allowed the warmth to spread in my head and love in my heart for a second as Zoe pulled back.
"Sorry, only forehead kisses for you until your mouth is healed." Zoe said playfully as I gave her a soft smile as I tried to nod but failed as I grimaced a bit in pain. Then Hestia suddenly leaned over and did the same as I smiled more, how I wish I could speak or even use my powers to communicate with them.
"Well I am sure the council will make the best decision for Percy in the end, his powers are something we have never seen and from the rumors I have heard around the hearth is that Percy let it slip that he is connected to Pontus and that Order is his stepfather. That alone will bring up the topic of the primordials, even though we are aware of their fates the council does not. If Percy tells his entire story there is a good chance a part of the council will wish to save him."
"He is the last blood of Chaos and Order, he is the rightful heir to the primordial domains and the last hope for when Abyss is to come here. Plus he still has his oath with Olympus as well, that is already a huge foot in the door for serving Olympus. Though I am sure Zeus will try to alter it to have Percy serve Olympus forever." Hestia explained as I couldn't help but agree. After that silence filled the room as the two seemed to think until Zoe nodded.
"Well that can all wait for later, for now you get rest okay.? I am going to go check on the children, Hestia keep an eye on this idiot for a bit." Zoe said standing up as she gave each of us a quick kiss and then disappeared as Hestia glanced down at me and gave a soft smile.
"You really could have gotten yourself killed, you need to be more careful with yourself. You have a family waiting for you to get home safely each and every day. Even if we can't see you each night knowing you are safe is enough, so please... be more careful from now on." Hestia said in the softest most loving voice as I felt my heart strings yank and pull as tears welled up in my eyes. I just raised my hand up to her face as she leaned into it, the wrapping preventing me from feeling her soft skin but her warmth still went through.
"I know you will probably break this promise though, you have such an important role in this life that it is almost impossible not to be in danger. I just want to remind you, like when we spoke last time. You will always have a home to return to even in the most dire times, even if your mind is a storm of thoughts, just remember you can always come home and relax to sort them out. I love you more than anything Percy, I don't want to lose you." Hestia said in small sobs as my heart quivered in pain, I couldn't believe I made the love of my life cry in such sorrow.
I finally understood why they were calling me an idiot or stupid, I could have gone to them after finding out what happened with Sally. I could have figured something out instead of storming out to sea and fighting Poseidon, I let my emotions get the best of me and I began to regret it. Even if my power took a new bound forward it didn't matter if I couldn't make it home safe. I had to be better in the future, it wasn't just my life anymore. My actions had even endangered Zora, my precious baby girl. I started to feel anger at my own self swell in my tired heart, suddenly a soft hand caressed my face as Hestia looked at with her soft ember like eyes.
"Together from now on?" She asked me as I gave the best nod I could as tears began to drip from my eyes as she smiled at me. Tears of her own cresting her eyes yet again as they dripped down.
"When you can talk we will have a much longer conversation about this, Zoe also has her own concerns about what happened. She just doesn't want to unload on you when you are this injured. From now on, we do things together, no more one man show." Hestia said as I gave another painful nod and blinked away my tears.
LINEBREAK:
THIRD PERSON POV:
Artemis quickly arrived in her temple on Olympus as she gave a frustrated sigh as she fanned her face trying to cool down as she calmed down her emotions. Her mind raced as she thought back to the questions the two asked her about her long party she had. Just at the thought her cheeks flushed more as Artemis put on a very embarrassed face.
"I-I need to get a grip." She said to herself as she rushed to her kitchen and poured herself a large cup of nectar as she downed it in a few gulps. She gave a large sigh at the end as she hung down her head and groaned a bit. She then paused as she sniffed herself as the sweet scent of alcohol filled her nose as she blushed deeply.
"Shower, shower." She quickly repeated as she raced to her bedroom only to freeze as she got to the door as she seemed to sober up a bit more. She suddenly pursed her lips as she ever so slowly pushed open the door as the sweet scent of booze rushed out of the room. At the smell of room her face flushed even more as embarrassment and worry tore through her mind. Hazy memories of the last few days entered her mind as her heart began to race a bit. Even so slowly that even Dionysus doing his actual job seemed fast she opened the door.
In an instant a dimly lit room lay before her as she glanced around, multiple empty wine bottles and liquor bottles lay about her room. Ever so slowly Artemis began to tiptoe through the room as her face seemed to flush gold, she couldn't believe she was sneaking into her own room. All she needed with a clean pair of clothes and she could leave, she didn't even care about a shower anymore. She could grab on in any hunter camp she decided to flash to.
As Artemis creeped into her room suddenly a low groan sounded from the bed lined with animal furs of all sorts of different or mythical creatures as she froze. Her heart beating as fast as possible as her worries turned out correct, her hazy memories turning more corporeal by the second as she blushed a bit. Just looked at the bed as her worst fears came true as she took another step but stepped on an empty bottle instead. Instantly Artemis was in freefall, her normal godly reflexed paralyzed by embarrassment as she hit the ground as the person in bed sat up in a daze due to the loud noise.
"W-What's going on?" Asked a confused voice as Artemis closed her eyes and took a deep breath and prepared for the worst. Ever so slowly she stood up and dusted herself off as she gave a small cough as well.
"S-Sorry." Was the only thing she could stutter out as she quickly hurried to the closet and fetched several pairs of clean clothes as the person in bed stared at her in a daze.
"W-Wait!" They suddenly yelled as Artemis froze as she clenched her eyes shut and took a long breath.
"I-I'm sorry, j-just give me a few days." Artemis begged through closed eyes as she quickly stormed out of the room with her clothes. Artemis suddenly paused at the door though as she gave a glance back at the person as she gave an apologetic look and then lightly closed the door. Leaving the person alone in the room as they slowly lowered their outstretched arm. They then pulled the large soft pelt covering them closer as they flopped back down as a soft sigh escaped their lips.
"Well... this is certainly more than I could have hoped for." They said softly as suddenly a small giggle escaped their lips and a small smile spread across their face. The person in turn just snuggled deeper into the pelts and pillows a bit more, they then gave them a soft sniff as a flush of embarrassment crossed their face as her cheeks lit up. The scent of her and Artemis's night of passions still fresh as Hera couldn't help let her heart flutter.
A/N: Hehehe I hope you all enjoyed the fight! Percy about to throw hands with anyone about to hurt Zora. Also Hestia always about togetherness and Percy needs to learn a thing or two. But I hope you also enjoyed the big reveal! Watch out for a very nice flashback lemon between two certain goddesses ;)
E/N: Hey hey hey! Loved this one! I think that he did well. Also the Percy and Poseidon fight? Amazing! Good job to the author on that one! Anyway I hope you all enjoyed it and I will see you guys wherever I pop up next (most likely the lemon, since lazy over here isn't checking all my edits quick enough!) - Dex
