When Lu Zhao walked over alone, Lu Wen's face twisted into a sinister grin.
He clutched the urn tightly in his arms.
Lu Zhao approached Lu Wen. He cast him a casual glance as he spoke. "You could've directly confronted me. There was no need to hurt so many innocent people."
A flicker of disdain crossed Lu Wen's expression.
"Innocent people?" Lu Wen scoffed. "Do you know what disgusts me the most, brother? Your hypocritical compassion for those innocent people. You act like you're some benevolent savior. Did Nancy deserve to die?"
Lu Zhao's brow furrowed as he responded. "I've never wanted harm to befall Nancy. Your project was already a catastrophic failure. If I let you continue, more innocent lives would have been lost."
"And what about you?" Lu Wen's eyes reddened. He rushed to Lu Zhao's side and gripped his collar. "How did your illness miraculously get cured? Do you know where the poison master's daughter is? Why didn't you save Nancy?"
