Luo Ying buried her head in Lu Zhao's arms. She had been terrified beyond measure when the bullet was fired at her.
She was afraid of death, afraid of Lu Zhao's death in shielding her.
"Everything is fine now." Lu Zhao stroked her hair, his tone slowly becoming gentle.
"I almost thought I wouldn't be able to see you again." Luo Ying said. She did not expect Lu Zhao to risk his life to save her.
Lu Zhao hugged Luo Ying tighter. "I was too impulsive."
The old man had pressed the right buttons to make him take the more irrational of choices. He had abandoned Luo Ying to save her.
Lu Zhao was guilty. "I should have told you, but I really wanted to see my mother so much that I didn't expect it to be a trap."
Luo Ying raised her head and looked at Lu Zhao. "It's okay. I also hope that you can find your mother as soon as possible."
