Chapter 83 - Unite

Whoosh!

After flying east for 30 minutes, Sheng Tian found a body of water with the corpses of many sea beasts. He didn't know what race they were from as he wasn't Long Chen, but Sheng Tian could tell they were from some kind of crab species.

Merely judging by the difference in the number of corpses from the different powers, Sheng Tian concluded that Long Chen and Yue Ling'er got here fast enough before the humans got wiped out. Shortly after they finished their opponent, they flew off to the next one.

However, he did not see any corpse of a being that was on a high level, so they most likely didn't have one or the crab leader turned- ran in the opposite direction.

Without staying any further, Sheng Tian flew east even more.

...

A large group of people flew east as the sky got darker and darker. The leaders were Long Chen, Yue Ling'er, and a new and unfamiliar face.

It was an elderly lady wearing a dark purple robe. Her hair was tied to a bun and wrinkles covered her face. It was obvious that she had lived for a long time when one looked into her eyes gleaming with a sagely light.

Long Chen glanced at the elderly woman, "I wonder... How accurate are Daoist Violet Diviner's divinations?"

She smiled, "Divinations can not make me all seeing and all knowing. A true Diviner should only seek vague answers to avoid the Heaven's wrath"

Her smile seemed to dim a bit, "When I divined if I should head to the battlefield, I received the weirdest message"

"Danger. Safe. It was 2 complete opposites that I didn't expect to receive at the same time. After a bit of pondering, I finally decided to bring my disciples to the Xuan Continent. I just didn't expect to be attacked by the Steel Sea Crab race"

"Maybe it means you would be in danger at first? I mean, you are fine now," said Yue Ling'er.

"Maybe..."

"Over there!"

Long Chen pointed into the distance where lights flashed and waves formed. When they got a little closer, they could start to hear fighting and shouting.

"Go!"

Whoosh!

-

Clang!

An elderly man dressed in black from head to toe locked swords with a man speckled with blue scales and webbed hands.

His disciples were dressed similarly and were having a tough fight with the sea beasts.

This was the master of the Traceless Phantom Sect, Daoist Traceless. He had led his assassins in training and hoped to reach the Xuan Continent when several sea beasts blocked his way.

While assassins were feared, if they were not hidden and killed their prey in one hit, they are barely stronger than the average cultivator. Thus, they have already suffered many casualties and they were only going to increase if things progressed the way they were.

He pushed his opponent away and turned back, "Run away if you can!"

Clang!

He blocked an incoming strike from the sea beast who snickered.

"Hehehe, run? An assassin without his cover is simply some trash. Just wait for you all to be killed!"

Suddenly, a rain of swords fell down and killed several of the sea beasts. Bewildered, the one fighting Traceless couldn't react until the assassins quickly moved to gang up on the remaining sea beasts.

"Who!!"

And then he saw it, a large group of people had flown out of nowhere and attacked them. The sea beast could tell that the group consisted of many sects and were too much for him to handle with his remaining men.

"R-retreat!"

However, they were not going to let them go that easily and quickly surrounded them. Mercilessly, each of those sea beasts were killed without any troubles.

"Thankfully we haven't met a strong group again," said Yue Ling'er.

Now that the enemies were killed, they took a good look at who they saved.

Daoist Traceless frowned, as did Long Chen. It was a well known fact that Sheng Tian had killed Shi Wuming, the pride of the Traceless Phantom Sect. There wasn't a fragment of a soul left that Traceless could take and put into another body because Sheng Tian had used lightning, the bane of all souls.

Daoist Violet Diviner stepped forward between the 2, "How about we set aside past grievances, at least temporarily. We are in enemy territory and have others to save"

With a bit of thought, Daoist Traceless nodded and relaxed a bit. Long Chen let out a sigh and turned to Violet Diviner, "Thank you"

The old woman merely nodded, "Let's continue on our way"

They all agreed that infighting would only be beneficial to their enemies, thus, they prepared to go on their way.

Before they could fly away however, they heard the wind blowing behind them. Everyone turned and had a different expression for what they saw.

All the disciples were clearly excited, Long Chen nodded in satisfaction, Yue Ling'er and her top 2 disciples were happy, Violet Diviner looked interested, while Daoist Traceless had an ugly look on his face.

Naturally, it was Sheng Tian who had flown at his top speed to quickly catch up with the group. When he saw the newcomers, Sheng Tian naturally raised an eyebrow seeing the old man dressed in black.

Traceless shivered a little when Sheng Tian looked at him. It was like a dragon looking down on an ant, and without his cover, Daoist Traceless truly felt like an ant in front of Sheng Tian's presence.

"You all saved this guy? What if he tries to stab us in the back?"

Long Chen stroked his beard while Yue Ling'er frowned. Since Sheng Tian had enmity with Traceless, it might be possible that he will try to strike when the time is right.

Violet Diviner stepped forward, "So you are the pride of the Sky Sword Sect, Sheng Tian"

Sheng Tian turned to look at the old lady and felt as if her eyes were trying to peer into his very being. After a short moment however, she turned away, "I'm sure Daoist Traceless will not try to harm us during the duration of the war," she looked at the man, "Isn't that right?"

Traceless gulped when he was being stared at by so many people. He let out a sigh, "I won't gain anything by going after you now. However-" he tried to look at Sheng Tian without cowering, "I will demand compensation later! For now we should be united"

Sheng Tian nodded, "Alright then, since you have sworn, we can be considered comrades for now. As for compensation... That'll have to wait"

"Let's go!"
