Chapter 68 - Rematch

BOOM!

...

Sheng Tian sat up with wide eyes while Wu Di once again appeared before him.

"FUCK!"

Wu Di was clearly trying to hold back his laughter. When it seemed like victory was in his grasp, the Yue Ling'er replica had pulled out an even more powerful card that killed Sheng Tian.

"Did I also forget to mention that the replicas can also use moves you've never seen before?"

Sheng Tian slumped down, "So she went easy on me. If she were to use that move-"

"It would have killed you, yes. Which is also the reason that woman didn't use it during a spar"

In summary, right as Sheng Tian was about to deliver the killing blow, the replica used a technique called Nature God's Wrath. A blinding radiance had burst out of its figure and rays of divine light pierced through Sheng Tian's body.

"So? Did you get anything from that fight?"

Sheng Tian stood up and drew his sword, "Yeah I did, and now I'm pissed"

Wu Di raised an eyebrow and set the scene back to the one they were at before, "A rematch huh? Are you sure you can handle me after I kicked your ass so many times?"

He shook his head, "Nah, not really. But we won't know if I don't try"

Swish!

Wu Di jumped back right before the sword cut him and thrusted his sword forward the moment Sheng Tian's was too far to be retracted.

Slash!

Sheng Tian grabbed the incoming sword with his free hand, which dug into his fingers and palm and sent blood everywhere. Despite the pain, he didn't let go even as Wu Di tried to pull it back.

Swish!

Clank!

Sheng Tian's eyes almost popped out of their sockets, "What the fuck!?"

A metallic clang rang out when Sheng Tian's sword made contact with Wu Di's forearm. The sleeve was cut just enough for Sheng Tian to catch a glimpse of a metal wrist guard.

"How is that even fair?!"

The old man smirked, "I never said it was"

Bang!

With that arm, he punched Sheng Tian squarely in his handsome face. However, Sheng Tian fell back to reveal a devious grin, giving Wu Di the chills.

BANG!

"ugh-!!!!"

With all the strength that he could muster, Sheng Tian launched a vicious kick right at Wu Di's third leg.

Thump!

They both fell to the ground, except that Sheng Tian was lying face up, while Wu Di was on his knees.

Sheng Tian picked his head up with the widest grin he had ever made.

Wu Di kneeled with near soulless eyes, a few tears streamed down his face. His hands covered his privates as if they were fragile jewels and he made light groaning noises. After seeing his miserable appearance, Sheng Tian felt a huge sense of achievement and satisfaction.

He then decided to rub salt in the wound, not literally of course.

"Hehe, why do you seem so sad, master? It's not like your spirit had a... 'sword' in the first place"

Wu Di's eyes regain focus, "..."

A bit wary, Sheng Tian stood up and picked up his sword.

"..."

"So," Wu Di started, speaking in a chilling voice that made Sheng Tian flinch.

He stood up with a bit of difficulty, "It seems that you ought to learn some manners!"

Whoosh!

"Ugh!"

Clang!

Sheng Tian grit his teeth when he moved his injured hand wrong. Wu Di was now furious, and there was little he could do to pacify him.

'I guess it really hurt. Well worth it though'

Swish!

Sheng Tian's vision blurred, and he knew that he had lost once more. However, this fight was perhaps the most satisfying one yet.

Thump!

"Don't think we're done yet!"

"Huh?"

Whoosh!

Clank!

Sheng Tian got serious when he saw that Wu Di had no intention of stopping anytime soon. It seems that he probably shouldn't have done that.

Sheng Tian pushed Wu Di back, only for him to continue his assault. For some reason however, Sheng Tian found it easier to dodge and respond to his attacks now.

He glanced at Wu Di's eyes which were filled with fury.

'I see, anger is clouding his judgment'

Sheng Tian smiled and entered a sword lock with Wu Di. Under normal circumstances, one of them would try to create distance or knock the other away, but Wu Di was now simply trying to overpower Sheng Tian.

Screech!

Sheng Tian pushed his sword until it was at the hilt of Wu Di's sword, catching him off guard. Wu Di tried to move away when he sensed that something was wrong but Sheng Tian was faster.

Slash!

"Urk!"

Blood splattered everywhere as a long diagonal gash appeared on Wu Di's chest. Sheng Tian took advantage of this moment and pushed Wu Di back, before aiming for his neck.

However, right as his sword was about to behead Wu Di, Wu Di disappeared from Sheng Tian's field of view.

Whoosh!

Sheng Tian felt wind to his right and instinctively swung his sword there. He felt no resistance other than the air.

Swish!

"Ugh!"

Sheng Tian gasped for air as he felt a sharp pain in his back.

And then he blacked out once more.

...

"Sigh"

Sheng Tian slumped down.

Wu Di snorted, "How was it my fault that you didn't use your movement techniques? It isn't my problem that you've neglected them all this time"

"A proper movement technique can be a lifesaver, or it can be the deciding factor in a fight"

Sheng Tian recalled the 2 movement techniques that he knew and can use right now. They were Illusory Snake Steps and 10,000 Mile Stride.

When he fought Yue Ling'er and watched Bing Xue, Xiao Hua, and the Xuan Beast Princesses, he knew that they had all used some sort of movement technique.

Since he was much faster than pretty much everyone he'd faced, Sheng Tian didn't feel the need to use his movement techniques as he would rather spend his qi to attack.

"Enough thinking"

Wu Di picked up his sword, "I'm still pissed"
