With a single swing of his sword, Sheng Tian decapitated Ling Yuan, causing blood to spurt out all over him. His soul was not spared either, and was crushed under Sheng Tian's pressure.
Once his head fell to the ground, the entire place was silent. All of Ling Yuan's subordinates had either fled the scene or were killed by Sheng Tian, leaving no one to witness Ling Yuan's death.
Of course, once his minions ran back to the sect and news of this spread, people would naturally arrive here to see what had happened.
Sheng Tian was not about to clean up his mess. Instead, he put away the Devouring Sword and cleaned himself up a bit, before flying off away from the scene of the battle.
After a few hours, it became clear that Sheng Tian was not going to report back to the sect, and instead was flying away from it. As he flew in the air, it became increasingly clear what his goal was as he looked at a map while flying.
