Chereads / Demon of Ataraxia / Chapter 5 - FIVE

Chapter 5 - FIVE

I walked around the forest not sure where I was going. All I do know is that I need to stay away from clarissa and her group. How dare she call my mother mad. She should be grateful all I gave her was a slap. I searched for the supposed purple flower while walking around. The torch I'm holding will soon go out.

Hearing the noise of water, I followed the sound and found myself at a lake. Beside the lake was little purple flowers glowing in the dark.

I dropped what was left of my torch and bent down to pick the flowers.

What are you doing said a very strange voice, startling me so bad that I almost fell into the lake. Turning to see who it was, I found out my torch has gone out and apart from the moonlight and the glow of flowers there was no other light. I couldn't see who it was but I could feel the presence of someone.

Who are you? I questioned.

It is extremely dangerous out here, what are you doing alone and do you even know how deadly the flower you are about to pick is? Said the voice without answering my question.

Who are you? I questioned again.

I heard footsteps departing.

Wait! I shouted please, do you have a torch or something and how do I pick these flowers? Help me please I begged.

Are you not scared?

You don't even know me you are unharmed and alone anything can happen to you. These woods are dangerous yet here you are asking help from someone you haven't met before. That's extremely careless of you.

At his words I realized how reckless I'm being.

You are right I will be careful next time but for now I really need your help.

There is a next time? He asked amusement clearly in his voice.

Maybe, I don't know alright I said laughing lightly.

I heard footsteps walking towards me.

Canortia said the stranger and immediately a ball of light appeared casting a soft yellow light around us.

I looked in front of me and was stunned for a moment. The person in front me was wearing a mask with black short hair. His eyes were a beautiful green color and this eyes were currently staring at me. Despite him wearing a mask I know for a fact his looks will set many female heart a flutter.

Nice eyes I blurted out.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha nice eyes? seriously he asked.

Well they are beautiful I replied.

Thank you he said, so quietly that he might as well be talking to himself.

You need to go back to your group I heard him say.

Wait, how did you know i'm not alone?

This is no place for discussion do you want me to escort you back to the others?

The others don't want me there giving the fact they didn't tell me how deadly the flower is before asking me to go pick it. I need them away from me till I get my thoughts in order.

You can't stay here it's not safe.

Can I come with you?

You want to come with me?

Yes, I mean you must have a home or something. I just need some time to myself away from those people.

Are you sure?

I am.

He walked up to me held my hand and said caninorgio. I felt myself floating I could feel the wind on my face and the next minute I found myself in a garden.

A luxurious field of grass bordered by aromatic flower bushes. A single monstrous tree stands to the left. Its branches reach for the sky, ever trying to reach higher and higher. The flower beds are in need of some love and care, but look great nonetheless; they're forever trying to expand. Archways overgrown with flowers are scattered throughout the garden. Grass, roots and vines creep and crawl their way beyond their own borders, sneakingly trying to take a little more land.

And by the side of it all stood a house. Looking from the outside the house is gorgeous. It has been built with fir wood and has blue stone decorations. Tall large windows brighten up the house and have been added to the house in a mostly symmetric way.

Are you coming in? I promise no harm will come to you. You have my word.

Your word means nothing to me. It's no secret that you men say one thing but mean the other.

As crazy as it may sound. I won't harm you, and so you know I don't tell lies ever.

So you want me to believe that you haven't told a lie before.

I haven't. And for your information lies can only be told when there are people to tell them to. You are the only person i've brought here. It is your right to choose I won't force you. If you want me to take you back to the others I will. If you want to stay here you are welcome. At the end of the day the choice is yours.

I will come in, I heard myself say and watched him walk through the door of the house.

Here goes nothing, I told myself as I followed him in.
